This technology identifies noisy road surfaces and charges the battery while minimizing engine noise for a quieter ride. The improved e-Power gives the all-new Kicks a 25.7km/L fuel economy based on the WLTC Mode cycle.

All Kicks variants come with an optional e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system, which features an additional 68PS electric motor for the rear wheels. The Kicks e-4ORCE models include a "Snow" driving mode that modifies the all-wheel-drive logic and vehicle dynamic control systems, specifically designed for slippery surfaces. Yaw control is enhanced through targeted brake application, helping to ensure that the Kicks follows the driver's intended path when cornering on snow or ice.

Having satisfied the improvements on the way the all-new Kicks behaves, especially the first-ever Kicks e-4ORCE variants, it comes with an extensive array of ADAS. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across all grades and includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, and High Beam Assist. Based on the facelifted VA-spec Subaru WRX STi, the S209 is the third STi-tuned model available in the United States, following the WRX STi Type RA and the Subaru BRZ tS released in 2018. Since it is sold exclusively in the U.S., the engine powering it is a tuned version of the EJ25 2.5L flat-four turbocharged engine found in the global market version, rather than the EJ20 used for the Japan-spec WRX STi. The S209 produces 341 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, and it is mated exclusively to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Additionally, the S209 features 19-inch forged BBS wheels fitted with Dunlop 265/35R19 high-grip tires, the widest ever used on an STi model. After more than a decade, the Nissan Murano has returned as a fully imported model straight from the USA. It appears that Nissan is aligning with Toyota in selling American-made Japanese cars, aiming to maintain healthy trade relations between Japan and the United States.

Starting at 7,964,000 Japanese Yen, not including additional costs, the Nissan Murano Z53 is positioned as a more expensive option compared to the Lexus RX350 Version L. This model marks the return of Nissan's controversial midsize coupe-style SUV to the Japanese market after a decade-long absence. Its comeback highlights what Japan has missed during its time away.

The Murano Z53 retains coupe-style proportions while featuring ultra-thin "Crystal Cube" LED headlights and a sleek gloss-black trim strip. Its V-motion graphic includes LED daytime running lights cleverly integrated into the grille for a modern look. The liftgate boasts a clean design with a hidden rear wiper, concealed exhaust tips, and a lower bumper license plate holder. A striking LED tail light element spans the rear, creating a unique nighttime signature.

The Murano Z53 comes equipped with a range of impressive features. Inside, you'll find ventilated, massaging front seats, dual 12.3-inch displays powered by Google, and smartphone connectivity. Underneath, the Murano Z53 is nearly as sophisticated as a German luxury crossover thanks to its standard 4WD system, rack and pinion steering, front struts, rear multilink suspension, and ventilated disc brakes.

For safety, the Murano Z53 includes a wide variety of safety features, such as ProPILOT Assist, which combines Intelligent Cruise Control with Steering Assist for more convenient highway driving, a 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor, and an Invisible Hood View, among others.

A decade of comebacks warrants a comprehensive explanation from Nissan. The Murano Z53 aims to uphold luxury in the Nissan style. However, with its high price, which exceeds that of the Lexus RX, along with questionable styling, a left-hand drive-only configuration, and performance concerns, it’s challenging to convey the value of this new model to Japanese motorists who previously owned a Murano. Only time will tell how this model will be received.

Mazda's new era starts with the launch of the third-generation CX-5. This model introduces a new chapter for Mazda that the Japanese people will finally experience.

Starting at 3,300,000 Japanese Yen, excluding additional costs, the all-new CX-5 marks a new chapter for Mazda, as indicated by the company's new logo. While it is completely redesigned, it maintains the same reliability that made its predecessors popular, which is the primary reason the CX-5 has been a best-seller since the first model was introduced in 2012.

It is available in three variants, both in FF and 4WD configurations; the base-level L, the mid-range G, and the high-end S. These variants can be outfitted in either Signature Style or Urban Adventure Style.

Starting with its design, the third-generation CX-5 features an updated Kodo exterior that gives it a sportier and more confident appearance while remaining true to its character. Although the front and side profiles are broadly similar to the previous model, the rear view showcases Mazda's new direction. Not only do the rear lamps draw inspiration from the CX-60, but the new "MAZDA" lettering also makes a bold statement.

The same situation applies to the interior, where the steering wheel replaces the emblem with new wording. The dashboard features a new 15.6-inch touchscreen powered by Google, which not only controls almost every aspect of the vehicle but also responds to user commands. With the rear seats in place, the CX-5 offers up to 466 litres of boot space. If you fold down the passenger seats, the capacity increases to 2019 litres.

The only engine available for now is a PY-VPH 2.5-litre e-SKYACTIV G engine with a 4.8kW mild hybrid system (M HYBRID). This engine produces 178PS of power and 237Nm of torque. Mated only with a 6-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission, fuel economy is 15.2km/L for FF models and 14.2km/L for 4WD models. In a few years, Mazda will be developing the ultimate form of SKYACTIV engines, known as the SKYACTIV Z, which will be the first to utilise it.

The all-new CX-5 has undergone improvements in its chassis and suspension, along with a refined steering wheel for enhanced driving dynamics. The 4WD models feature i-ACTIV AWD, which, combined with G-Vectoring Control, provides excellent handling in a variety of driving conditions, including tarmac, gravel, and snow.

For safety, the all-new CX-5 comes ready with a comprehensive suite of ADAS, ranging from Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring, Driver Emergency Assist, Cruising and Traffic Support, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Proactive Driver Assist, 360 VM, and more.

The real Japan pickup, the Toyota Hilux, is now on its ninth generation, and this new model, known to most Thais as the Hilux Travo, is showing the opposition that you can't beat the real king of midsize pickups.

The all-new Hilux features a striking Cyber Sumo design that's tough enough to handle the harshest conditions in Hokkaido, if that's your style. While its dimensions are similar to the previous GUN125 model, the GUN226 is all about making a bold statement. It is available in two variants: the base Z model and the rugged Z Adventure model. The Z Adventure model comes fully equipped with a central locking tailgate, a deck rail with a sliding tie-down, a marine carpet bedliner, and an electric roller cover.

That's more fuel efficient than the Mitsubishi Triton.

In the Z Adventure trim, the Hilux features an upgraded suspension system to enhance ride quality, including a coil-sprung front end and a leaf-sprung rear end. It comes equipped with part-time 4x4 and a rear differential lock for improved control. Additionally, the Multi-Terrain Select has been retuned to boost off-road performance. The vehicle is also fitted with larger front disc brakes and durable rear ventilated disc brakes, providing better stopping power in extreme weather conditions.

The all-new Hilux features a robust ladder frame and a globally recognized GOA safety body structure. Super Formula 2026 - Round 4-5

Reeling from the Round 3 cancellation in Autopolis due to inclement weather, the 2026 Super Formula season continues in Suzuka for rounds four and five.

In the first race, Sacha Fenestraz won, followed by Nobuharu Matsushita in second and Sho Tsuboi in third. In the final race, Nirei Fukuzumi triumphed over Ayumu Iwasa and Kakunoshin Ohta for the victory.

After the recent Suzuka weekend, Kakunoshin Ohta is now leading the title fight with 52 points, while Ayumu Iwasa is in second place with 37.5 points, and Nirei Fukuzumi is in third place with 35 points.

The 2026 Super Formula season will continue in Fuji Speedway this July 17 to 19 for Rounds 6 and 7.

The baby Land Cruiser has arrived as the first-ever Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, starting at 4,500,100 Yen plus additional costs, aiming to be a decent rival to the Suzuki Jimny Nomade.

Sourced from Thailand, the first-ever fully imported Land Cruiser FJ is the smallest member of the Land Cruiser family. Its pricing positions it below the legendary 70 Series, often regarded as the greatest of the Land Cruiser lineup. Despite sharing the FJ name, which was previously used for the discontinued FJ Cruiser from the last decade, this model brings a fresh perspective to the off-road category. Don't be misled by its name; it is indeed the most compact off-roader in the range.

Beginning with the styling, the LCFJ was heavily inspired by the Euro-styled Compact Cruiser Concept, another fine example of concept cars becoming living realities, at least in SUV terms, because in today's climate, SUVs are as profitable as Hollywood superhero movies. Although squarish in form, the Land Cruiser FJ has 4575mm of length, 1,855mm of width, and 1,960mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580mm, which is 10mm less than its main rival, the Suzuki Jimny Nomade.

Yes, the back door has a spare tire and a side-opening mechanism, making it easy to open and close even in tight spaces.

The dashboard design is similar to that of its larger counterpart, the Land Cruiser 250. On the driver’s side, it features a 7-inch color driver information display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity. Additional conveniences include buttons on the steering wheel, a leather gear knob, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and an automatic climate control system.

The rear seats can be adjusted forward and backward by 75mm and can be folded in a 55:45 split to create more boot space. The interior dimensions are 1030mm high, 1135mm wide, and 1480mm long, making it quite spacious overall. With the rear seats present, it will have about 735mm of boot length.

The Land Cruiser FJ may be tiny, but it has the strength of a Land Cruiser thanks to its ladder frame and the IMV platform, which will be used in the next-generation Hilux, not to mention the standard part-time 4WD system with different settings suitable for various road conditions.

Powering the Land Cruiser FJ is a 2TR-FE 2.7-litre gasoline engine mated to a 6-speed Super ECT. It produces 163PS of power, 246Nm of torque, and a fuel economy of 8.7km/L based on WLTC Mode standards, which is less efficient than the Suzuki Jimny Nomade.

It also includes Toyota Safety Sense, an active safety package with advanced features such as the Pre-collision Safety System, ensuring enjoyable driving with peace of mind.

Here it is, the first fully imported Land Cruiser FJ. While it may be more expensive and less fuel-efficient than the Jimny Nomade, it offers high quality and luxury, making it suitable for everyday use. This Land Cruiser is designed for everyday people, perfectly blending practicality with durability.

KYOJO CUP 2026 Season Round 1

As the KYOJO CUP enters its ninth year, the 2026 season marks the second time that female drivers from here and around the world will compete in a junior-spec formula racing format. 

Last year's champion, Rio Shimono, who was the first winner in KYOJO's formula era, is facing tough competition from a mix of new and returning drivers on the grid. Rina Ito, a KYOJO legend who has been racing since the series began in 2017, is making her comeback to showcase her skills in the transition to formula racing. This is uncharted territory for a seasoned competitor like her.

The 2026 KYOJO season also introduces newcomers, including entrepreneur and racing team operator Ai Miura, who runs the AiWin team with support from its new sponsor, ReFa. Ai races alongside her teammate, Itsumo Shiraishi. Additionally, F1 Academy competitor Joanne Ciconte and karting driver Sara Matsui from its Discover Your Drive are joining the KYOJO grid this year, much to the excitement of fans from both the F1 Academy and KYOJO series.

The opening match of the 2026 season took place in the KYOJO home ground, Fuji Speedway. Sadly, Mako Hirakawa of the #4 NTT docomo Business ROOKIE KC-MG01 and Zhao Yun Chen of the #57 ATEAM Buzz Racing KC-MG01 were absent from the season opener, meaning only 18 drivers took part in the opener.

Riona Tomishita, driving the #39 TEAM OPTIMUS CERUMO - INGING KC-MG01, claimed victory in the season opener. Joanne Ciconte, representing nat team KCMG, made a strong debut in KYOJO, finishing in second place, while Aimi Saito of SCS TEAM TOM'S secured third, completing the first podium of the 2026 season.

The next race is on July 18-19, 2026, coinciding with the 6th and 7th rounds of the 2026 Super Formula season.

As the trio prepares to say goodbye, they are launching the Bloom Garden Party with the assistance of their fellow club members: Ginko Momose, Kosuzu Kachimachi, Hime Anyoji, Ceras Yanagida Lilienfeld, and Izumi Katsuragi. Additionally, alumni of the school's 102nd Class, including Kozue Otomune, Megumi Fujishima, and Tsuzuri Yugiri, will join the farewell celebration.

Unlike the one seen in the "Link! Like! Love Live!" app, this animated movie summarizes the entire climax from a new perspective. It is proof that Hasunosora's finest got animated, and fans will get the chance to see the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club like never before. Although it's good news for us all, it's sadly this movie will be the only time to see Kaho, Sayaka, and Rurino being animated in this climactic spectacle. Upcoming members Maika Kinjo (voiced by Julia Hoshimiya) and Aoi Reisawa (voiced by Kana Asahi) are making their cameo appearances.

The Hasunosora movie spectacle serves as a fitting grand farewell to the trio that made this school idol club the driving force that the school they represented desired. From beginning to end, it's hard to miss Kaho, Sayaka, and Rurino after this journey. They've been with us since the start three years ago, and now that their time in Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club is done, a fresh new chapter begins.

Autobacs Super GT 2026 Series Round 2

During the Golden Week exodus, the Autobacs Super GT 2026 Series continues at Fuji Speedway for its second round.

It's a 1-2 GR Supra finish with the victory goes to the #36 au TOM'S GR Supra while the #14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra finished 2nd. The #23 MOTUL Niterra Z completes the podium by finishing in third place.

In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #56 Realize Nissan Mechanical Challenge GT-R is the winner while the #56 LEON Pyramid AMG finished 2nd and the #31 apr LC500h GT finished 3rd.

The next race will be at Fuji Speedway for Round 3 this August 1-2, 2026.

Having been around the world for quite some time now, the fully imported, third-generation Toyota Highlander is now available in Japan at Toyota Mobility Tokyo for 8,600,000 Japanese Yen plus additional costs.

The official arrival of the fourth-generation Toyota Highlander in Japan marks the return of a popular crossover that has been absent from the market for over two decades. Toyota ceased selling its predecessor, the Kluger, in 2007. While the Highlander has been available in the Americas, through the Belt and Road Initiative, and in Oceania for some time, its late introduction into the Japanese market means there is a lot of catching up to do.

Starting with the exterior design, the Highlander features a robust and muscular style that makes both the Harrier and the Crown Estate appear quite timid. This contrast is notable even though all three vehicles are built on the same GA-K platform, which was used for the now-discontinued Camry, set to return to the Japanese market soon as a US import. 

The Highlander can comfortably seat up to seven people and is equipped with a panoramic roof, a head-up display, and a JBL premium sound system. In terms of cargo space, it offers up to 241 liters with the rear seats in place and up to 1,909 liters when the rear seats are folded down. However, it has less cargo capacity than its main competitor, the Mazda CX-80, which is the most spacious seven-seater crossover offered by Toyota.

The Highlander is available exclusively in the Limited ZR Hybrid trim. It features a full-hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle Hybrid Dynamic Force petrol engine with both front and rear electric motors. The rear motor provides the SUV with AWD-i (All-Wheel Drive intelligent). Additionally, it has a powerful Nickel-Metal Hydride battery located under the second row of seats. With a total system output of 248PS, the Highlander Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 180 km/h.

The Highlander, while somewhat bulky for Japanese driving conditions, offers a surprisingly luxurious and comfortable driving experience, even on rough terrain. This is primarily due to its all-wheel-drive system and the TNGA-K platform, which features Ride Control along with Torque Demand, Pitch Body, and Acceleration Pitch control systems, among others.

In terms of safety, the Highlander comes equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS) with pedestrian detection for both day and night, as well as daytime bicyclist detection. Additional safety features include Full Range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Road Sign Assist (RSA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Road Sign Assist (RSA).

The fourth-generation Toyota Highlander, despite its delayed arrival, represents a significant return for Japanese motorists who have been eagerly anticipating a model since the Kluger. This fully-imported SUV is designed to meet the needs and preferences of consumers in the market.

When the world's deadliest organizations put a bounty on Sakamoto's head, it's up to Sakamoto to protect his family at all costs, with a little help from his friends, such as Shin and Shaotang.

This movie feels like it's covering almost the first season of the anime series. Almost everything we love about SAKAMOTO DAYS is there in this live-action movie offering, not to mention his transformation sequence where Sakamoto went from slim to plus-size and back Perhaps the opposite? Anyway, with the blend of action, thrills, comedy, suspense, and family values, this live-action movie is almost as good as last year's anime. Nearly a good way to catch up before the real deal returns for another round, right?

Whether you enjoyed the manga or the anime series, this live-action SAKAMOTO DAYS movie gives you more dopamine for your addiction to the entire series, like it or not. Another reason why we love this now-iconic series.

Although this movie may not serve as a worthy birthday gift for the 2001 Kamen Rider TV show or the entire Kamen Rider series, it is a thrilling experience for those who appreciate nostalgia.

The fully imported all-electric Honda Insight is priced starting at 5,500,000 Japanese Yen, plus additional costs, minus the CEV subsidy. This vehicle marks Honda's second import from China, following the return of the Odyssey e:HEV three years ago. However, this is the first time Honda has imported an electric vehicle from China, which is significant considering BYD's recent entry into the Japanese market has caused quite a stir in the local automotive industry.

Starting with its somewhat controversial design, the coupe-like silhouette is reminiscent of the current Citroen e-C4 X. However, the rear lights strongly resemble those of the Chevrolet Trax crossover, making the front view quite challenging to articulate.

The interior features a 9.4-inch instrument display, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Honda Connect 4.0, and an 11.5-inch head-up display. It has a two-tone grey/black design with an orange accent stripe. Standard features include power-adjustable front seats (driver’s with memory), dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and an air fragrance system. Additional amenities are a sunroof, Qi wireless charger, 360-degree camera, and hands-free powered tailgate. Asked about creature comforts, the sedan-riding comfort is as regular as it can be.

The Insight is powered by a front-mounted 204PS MCF62 electric motor paired with a 68.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering an impressive driving range of 535 km on a full charge. It features four drive modes, with SPORT mode providing the most engaging experience. Other highlights include Active Sound Control, a lightweight design with a low centre of gravity, frequency-responsive dampers, a deceleration selector, and Agile Handling Assist, among various other features.

The safety and driving assistance kit includes seven airbags, including a centre airbag, and a complete Honda Sensing suite.

This coupe-style electric SUV, made in China, is no longer the Insight we remember. It prioritises practicality and comfort, making it suitable for long-distance travel. While it may not be particularly enjoyable to drive, it excels at providing a smooth experience for cruising from one destination to another. Ready or not, the Chinese-made Honda Insight is going to be a headliner on Japanese roads.
