Aikatsu x PriPara THE MOVIE: Deai no Kiseki!

The impossible dream becomes a reality because, for the first time ever, the worlds of Aikatsu and PriPara collide in this movie event of the season in honor of a decade of the Aikatsu anime's Akari Generation arc and the PriPara anime.

Aikatsu x PriPara THE MOVIE: Deai no Kiseki!
Aikatsu x PriPara THE MOVIE:
Deai no Kiseki!

The long-awaited dream collaboration has finally arrived in this season's must-see movie event. In celebration of a decade of the Aikatsu anime's Akari Generation arc and the PriPara anime, "Aikatsu x PriPara THE MOVIE: Deai no Kiseki!" brings together two of the most iconic family-friendly idol anime series that aired on TV Tokyo ten years ago. This exciting mashup promises to leave a lasting impact on both beloved idol franchises.

The Luminas trio from Aikatsu (comprising Akari Ozora, Hinaki Shinjo, and Sumire Hikami) and the SoLaMi Smile from PriPara (comprising Laala Manaka, Mirei Minami, and Sophy Hojo) are joined with some of the most memorable characters from both series for the biggest spectacle fans will never forget.

It's a dream come true to see the worlds of Aikatsu and PriPara combined in this movie. The classic moments, the greatest hits, all the way to the grand finale—this is definitely a must-watch for anyone who loved both the Aikatsu and the Pretty Series. A real treat for kids of the 2010s who fell in love with these two memorable anime series.

The movie has temporarily settled the debate between the Aikatsu series and the Pretty Series. However, while fans got what they wanted, the Pretty Series remains prominent, and the Aikatsu series has diminished as a viewer-only experience due to the recent Aikatsu Academy series. It's a long story, but never mind. Just enjoy it. It's a fitting tribute to both iconic idol anime franchises loved by Japanese families.

Every seiyuu popped up in both IDOLM@STER and Pretty Series

Last time, I made a quick list of seiyuus who popped up in both Love Live and Pretty Series. Just the big ones. I've done this in honor of both the Love Live and the Pretty Series' 15th anniversary. It's hard to imagine why both of these franchises poach each other's voice-overs for their idol girls. Long story short. Anyway, sticking to the 2025 idol year celebration, as THE IDOLM@STER series celebrated its 20th anniversary, it's time now for another quick list project.

Surprisingly, there's a long list of IDOLM@STER series seiyuus who got involved in Pretty Series projects since the Pretty Rhythm era. With the latest Pretty Series installment, Himitsu no AiPri, featuring IDOLM@STER seiyuus for the show's new characters, let's jot down the seiyuus who popped up in both IDOLM@STER and Pretty Series. Just the ones who can sing in both franchises.

A quick history of 15 years of Pretty Series

July 15, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of Takara Tomy's Pretty Series. From Pretty Rhythm to AiPri, the Pretty Series is all about bringing some of that idol magic for kids of all ages. To commemorate 15 years of Pretty Series, it’s time for a super-quick history lesson.

Pretty Series
Pretty Series

The Pretty Rhythm Saga (2010-2014) - The Pretty Series saga began on July 15, 2010, with the arcade game titled Pretty Rhythm Mini Skirt. Made by Takara Tomy and developed by SynSophia, this arcade game pits players in the role of Prism Stars, performing Prism Jumps, and collecting Prism Stones.

While the one that started it all made a slow start, the folks from Takara Tomy wanted to do more with the Pretty Rhythm saga, and with that, a TV anime titled Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream was made. Aired on TV Tokyo on April 9, 2011, for 51 episodes, this anime is the fruit of Japan-Korea collaboration, thanks to Japan's Tatsunoko Production and South Korea's Dong Woo Animation. The TV anime is all about Aira, Rizumu, and Mion in their quest to take on the prestigious Prism Queen Cup.

As Aira Harune's journey to become Prism Queen is completed, Mia Ageha takes the baton as the star of the next Pretty Rhythm story, Dear My Future. Aired on TV Tokyo on April 7, 2012, for 51 episodes, Dear My Future centers on the rivalry between Prizmmy☆ and the K-Pop group PURETTY. Believe it or not, there are real-life versions of the groups as seen in the anime. There's even a live-action segment featuring Prizmmy☆ as well.

As Mia Ageha's road to Grateful Symphonia is well and truly over, Naru Ayase steps into the spotlight in the third and final chapter of the Pretty Rhythm saga, titled Rainbow Live. Aired on TV Tokyo on April 6, 2013, it features an original storyline unlike the previous two. It's about Naru, An, and Ito, who are working together at the Prism Stone Shop while trying to take good care of a mysterious girl named Rinne.

Although the Pretty Rhythm saga ended, the story continues with the KING OF PRISM spinoff films featuring male characters from the Pretty Rhythm saga. They even got a 2019 anime show as well, showcasing the rise of the boys who would be Septentrion.

The PriPara saga (2014-2018, 2021~) After the end of the Pretty Rhythm saga,  the folks of Takara Tomy prepped up what seems to be the second generation of the Pretty series. It's called PriPara and it aired on TV Tokyo in the Summer of 2014 and lasted for three seasons, four if you count Idol Time PriPara, of course. This anime series centers on the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who wants to be the best PriPara idol. Together with Mirei Minami and Sophy Hojo, they became SoLaMi Smile, and they fought their way against the best idol teams of PriPara, especially Dressing Pafe consisting of Dorothy, Reona, and Sion, Tricolore, and Gaarmageddon, among many others. PriPara is a huge win for the people behind it, and such success prompted the show to spawn four movies and outrageous merchandising rights.

In the spring of 2017, the next chapter of PriPara begins with three new main characters penning the final pages of this saga. Titled Idol Time PriPara, it's all about Yui Yumekawa, whose fateful encounter with Laala Manaka changed everything following an accident. With Nino Nijiiro and Michiru Kouda joining, the MY☆DREAM trio made the best closure to this saga.

Although the PriPara TV series is finished, the story continues with Idol Land PriPara. First announced in December 2020, it was originally slated to be released in the spring of 2021 until it became subject to long gestation and delayed launch dates. It was released on August 17, 2023. It is the second official PriPara app game after the defunct PriPuz puzzle app game. This app game also features an original anime series set moments after the events of Idol Time PriPara. It introduces new characters such as Amari Katasumi, Mario, and Pololo, among others.

The Kiratto PriChan years (2018-2021) - Aired on TV Tokyo since April 2018 for three seasons, Kiratto PriChan is set in a world where fame comes from social media, just like in the real world. It's about a group of girls who call themselves the Miracle☆Kiratts, who are striving to become the best PriChan idols above the rest. For three seasons, we watched Miracle Kiratts taking on big challenges such as heated competition with rival teams such as Meltic StAr and Ring Marry, the jewel idol competition, saving the world, the road to the Queens Grand Prix, and saving the world...again, while they do what they do best; showcasing the world that they're the best PriChan sensations ever known.

PriMagi (2021-2022) - Waccha PriMagi! is the fourth installment of the Pretty Series that revolves around the lives of Primagistas striving to become the best of the best. The show is about Matsuri Hibino, a middle-schooler who dreams of being the best, just like her idol, the legendary Jennifer Sumire Sol.

AiPri (2024 onwards) - After over a year of void, the Pretty Series has returned with the newest installment titled Himitsu no AiPri. The new series stars Minori Fujidera as Himari Aozora and Sae Hiratsuka as Mitsuki Hoshikawa. For the first time in the Pretty Series, the animation sequences were provided by OLM, the studio behind the Pokémon and Yo-Kai Watch anime series, while South Korea's Dongwoo A&E returned to cooperate for it. First aired on TV Tokyo in April 2024, the show is currently in its second chapter, the Ring Arc.

Happy 15th anniversary to the Pretty Series! From Pretty Rhythm to AiPri, this franchise made "idols" accessible for the whole family. A franchise where little girls can express themselves like the stars of the franchise from Aira Harune, Mia Ageha, Naru Ayase, Laala Manaka, Yui Yumekawa, Mirai Momoyama, Matsuri Hibino, and now Himari Aozora and Mitsuki Hoshikawa.

Here's to another 15 years!

King of Prism: Your Endless Call - Minna Kirameke! Prism Tours

In celebration of the Pretty Series' 15th anniversary, the Septentrion boys are back for their multiverse-trotting escapade in the newest King of Prism movie.

King of Prism: Your Endless Call - Minna Kirameke! Prism Tours
King of Prism: Your Endless Call
Minna Kirameke! Prism Tours

The latest movie in the King of Prism series is titled "King of Prism: Your Endless Call - Minna Kirameke! Prism Tours". This film takes place shortly after "Dramatic PRISM 1", where the Septentrion boys embark on a time-traveling adventure to attend the Dear Crown Christmas Live concert, where the seven performed for the very first time. As they journey through the time-space warp, the group explores all the installments of the Pretty Series, from "Pretty Rhythm" to "Waccha PriMagi!", to reach their destination. Unknown to them, a shadowy male named Ai Kannazuki is watching their every move.

This movie truly embodies its theme as it celebrates 15 years of the Pretty Series. While the King of Prism stars receive much of the spotlight, male idols from the entire franchise also share in the glory. From the PriPara side, we have WITH, Dark Nightmare, and Mario. As for the Kiratto PriChan side, are there any male idols featured? Lastly, from the Waccha PriMagi side, we have TRUTH. It's an alternate scene surprise because every week, the scene alters, showcasing which Pretty Series installment will be in this film.

It's surprising that the latest installment, "Himitsu no AiPri," wasn't included, especially since the show features a male AiPri idol, Subaru Nanaura. The reason is that the content highlighted in this movie comes from the Tatsunoko era of the Pretty Series, and AiPri is not part of that because it is produced by OLM.

Despite some reservations, this movie serves as a fitting tribute to the Tatsunoko-era Pretty Series. It deserves recognition for its significant contribution to the success of the Pretty Series, appealing to a wide audience. This film is a suitable anniversary gift, celebrating the 15th year of the Pretty Series.

How to dress as the AiPri idols...again

The currently airing "Himitsu no AiPri" TV series is entering its Ring Arc. In this new chapter, Himari and Mitsuki are taking on an exciting new challenge: the clash of the AiPriVerse duets. As they uncover the secret of the princess Ring Clover, they aim to prove they are the best duo in the AiPriVerse.

With the latest AiPri chapter in full swing, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorite AiPri idols. With that, welcome to AiPriVerse Day!

Himitsu no AiPri Ring Arc
Himitsu no AiPri -Ring Arc-

As Himari Aozora - Himari Aozora is the main character of the show. She is a cheerful and energetic middle schooler who dreams of making a million friends. As the representative of the Poppin' Heart brand, she has a bright personality and an ambition to match. Having won the final AiPri Grand Prix in the previous season alongside Mitsuki Hoshikawa, she is ready to take on new challenges. If you want to transform yourself into Himari Aozora from Himitsu no AiPri, the first step is to get her highly long pink hair. This is an intermediate task. For those up for the advanced challenge, you will need to learn how to style her twin tails, which should be twirled just right and positioned above her head. This task is not easy, but to truly embody Himari, you must give it your all. Once you have nailed the hairstyle, you will officially be Himari Aozora! At that point, you can choose any costume you like for your cosplay.

As Mitsuki Hoshikawa - Mitsuki Hoshikawa is the kind of person who is charismatic, but also quiet and reserved. She’s also a viral sensation because of her AiPriVerse web show called Mii Channel. She is Himari’s childhood best friend. She represents the Miracle Moon brand. Having won the final AiPri Grand Prix in the previous season alongside Himari Aozora, she is ready to take on new challenges. If you’re interested in dressing up as Mitsuki Hoshikawa for an anime convention, the first step is to get a long blond hairdo. Then, you’ll need to tinker with it until you can match Mitsuki’s hairstyle. As long as you can get the hairstyle right, you pretty much have her look down.

As Tsumugi Suzukaze - Tsumugi is an AI-generated AiPri idol programmed by Himari's father to be her trusted friend for communication. In the previous season, Tsumugi sacrificed herself to prevent darkness from spreading throughout the AiPriVerse, but thanks to Himari and her friends, Tsumugi was revived. In the outside world, she appears only as Himari's plushie, Mugi-chan, allowing her to communicate with Himari and Mitsuki. Although Tsumugi is enigmatic, there's nothing enigmatic about her hairstyle. A long black hair is all you need and then slightly fix it to match Tsumugi's hairstyle. With that, you'll be the mysterious girl from the AiPriVerse. The costumes are up to you...if there's one.

As Chii Mamiya - Chii Mamiya is one of Himari's classmates and is known for her brash and outspoken personality. She aims to make a name for herself in the AiPriVerse. With the Quartet Star currently overseas, Chii has taken on the role of student council president, which presents its own challenges. She represents the Love My Music brand. To complete her look, she sports short lavender-colored hair and wears a light green headband.

As Julia Igarashi - Recently enrolled at the Paradise Private Academy, Julia stands out for her buzzworthy modeling antics and photogenic looks. To become Julia, all you need is long blond hair with some orange extensions on it and an indigo-colored bow. Do your best to match Julia's hairstyle and once settled, feel free to decide on the costumes.

As Elle Rokudo - Another new student at the Paradise Private Academy, Elle is Julia's roommate who is rather modest and busy with important things but as they say, good things come to those who wait. To cosplay as Elle, you need semi-long silver hair as well as two bows, the big indigo one and the small silver one upfront. The costumes she wore in the show are up to you once the hairstyle is done.

As Subaru Nanaura - Subaru is a newcomer in the AiPriVerse alongside his sister, Otome. His encounter with Himari is something...something. Anyway, to be Subaru, you need short dark blue hair and some silver starry hairpins to your left. Do your best to match his looks.

As Otome Nanaura - Otome is Subaru's sister and is new to the AiPriVerse scene. She is a self-proclaimed producer, and idols seek inspiration from her. She has short pinkish hair, but it's a different shade of pink than Himari's, think carefully. Additionally, you should wear a blue ribbon on the left side of your head in order to complete Otome's look.

As Vivi Hachioji - Another new student at the Paradise Private Academy, Vivi Hachioji is a major fan of Chii Mamiya and all she wants is to collaborate with her someday. To become Vivi, all you need is long bright blue hair and then give the top with some dog ear-styled twin tails. If you manage to match Vivi's hairstyle, feel free to work on the costumes.

...and there you have it. How to be your favorite idol from Himitsu no AiPri...again. Who needs to go to the AiPriVerse to see their favorite idols when you can become one yourself? With these tips on how to dress up as your favorite character from Himitsu no AiPri, cosplaying will be buzz-worthy!

How to dress as your favorite PriPara idols

PriPara, the second generation of the Pretty series, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year! The show aired on TV Tokyo from the summer of 2014 to 2017 and had a fourth season called Idol Time PriPara. The anime series follows the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who dreams of becoming the best PriPara idol.

In honor of PriPara's 10th anniversary, PriPara fans from all over the world are celebrating by cosplaying their favorite characters. Since you are itching to become one of your favorite PriPara characters, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorites. Time to do something our Meganee-san and Meganii-san don't want you to do.

PriPara
PriPara

As Laala Manaka - Laala Manaka is the star of the PriPara series. She's an elementary-grade little girl who dreams of becoming the best PriPara idol. Her catchphrase is "Kashikoma!" To become Laala, all it takes is an extremely long light-purple hairdo and then give it some twin-tails to match Laala's look. It's complicated but if you did it, you're now Laala Manaka. Be sure to work on whatever costumes she wore in the series and also the Kashkoma pose. Kashkoma!

As Mirei Minami - Mirei Minami was a smart-minded student and the head of the school's disciplinary committee until she got promoted to student council president in the second season. She's known for her strict personality but in PriPara, she is a cute idol with a pop personality. Her catchphrase is "Pop Step Getchu". If you’re looking to cosplay Mirei, you’ll need a midsize yellow wig. You’ll need to add some triangular "cat ear" buns to the top (rubber bands work great for that), and then attach ribbons: blue on your right, and red on your left. Once you’ve got the hair right, it’s time for the finishing touch: the Pop Step Getchu pose! You're now Mirei, pri!

As Sophy Hojo - Sophy Hojo may be a highly-talented idol who has an intense fanbase dedicated to staying by her until the end of time, but she's usually lethargic in her daily life, even in PriPara. However, when she eats "red flash", which is a different term for umeboshi, Sophy reveals her cool self. Don't "pushu" yourself too hard because a long red wig is all you need to be Sophy.

As Dorothy West - Dorothy West is one of the West twins who is known for her tomboyish attitude, Dorothy's catchphrase is "Tension MAX". To become Dorothy, you'll need a short sky-blue wig and then give it the braids to your right. With the hairstyle settled, you're now Dorothy West. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore.

As Reona West - Reona West, one of the West twins, is a rather enigmatic person who is shy but often matches the actions of her (his?) twin sister Dorothy. Unlike Dorothy, who has a tomboyish attitude, Reona is more relaxed. And while Dorothy's catchphrase is "Tension MAX", Reona's is "Tension Relax", although she (he?) often just says "relax" when Dorothy says "tension max." To become Reona, you'll need a short pink wig with braids to your left.

As Sion Todo - Sion Todo was originally a Go champion who stopped playing Go and became a PriPara idol, proving that no one can stop her. To become Sion, first, you'll need long dark purple hair and give it a side ponytail to your right to match her hairstyle. With you as Sion, feel free to decide on her outfits. Let's ¡Go!

As Falulu - Falulu is a mysterious vocal doll lurking around PriPara but thanks to the girls, Falulu can freely become herself. To become Falulu, you'll need an extremely long bright lime green wig. With the wig ready, here comes the extremely difficult part; replicating Falulu's hairstyle. Either the baguette-shaped hairstyle when she was purely a vocal doll or the ultra-wavy quad twin-tails when she became a free girl, replicating either of her hairstyles is an arduous task. If you're herculean enough, you're now officially Falulu. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show.

As Cosmo Hojo - Cosmo Hojo is Sophy's big sister who is a renowned dress designer. To become Cosmo, you'll need a sky-blue short wig and then fix it to match Cosmo's hairstyle. With Cosmo your gal, feel free to decide which of the costumes she wore in the show.

As Aroma Kurosu - Aroma Kurosu is one of the Aromageddon duo with a penchant for conjuring devilish acts. Just long brown hair should do the trick and then tinker it to match Aroma's hairstyles. With Aroma's your girl, feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show. A Gaaruru plush is optional.

As Mikan Shiratama - Mikan Shiratama is one of the Aromageddon duo who is an angel idol who loves eating steamed buns. All you need is a long light reddish hairdo for this one, then give it the ponytail to match Mikan's hairstyle. You're now officially Mikan, the heaven-sent but hell-bent member of Aromageddon. Feel free to decide on the outfits she wore in the show. A Gaaruru plush is optional, although it's hard to decide which of you will be holding little Gaaruru.

As Hibiki Shikyoin - Hibiki Shikyoin is a high-profile PriPara idol with a prince-like personality whose ultimate goal is to radically change PriPara and ruthlessly cut off those who stand in the way, especially Laala Manaka. To become Hibiki, all you need is light grayish short hair. That's it. Then, decide on whatever fancy outfits Hibiki wore in the show.

As Fuwari Midorikaze - Fuwari Midorikaze is a transfer student from Europara who was invited by Hibiki Shikyoin to come to Japan. At first, she never got the chance to debut in PriPara because she did not fit the image of any existing brand but thanks to Cosmo Hojo, she debuted under her Coco Flower brand without problems. Her relationship with Hibiki is complicated. To become Fuwari, all you need is a short midsize blond wig and then do the complicated braids at the top of the hairstyle. Sounds challenging but if you can pull it off, you'll be Fuwari Midorikaze in no time. Good luck with the costume choice.

As Ajimi Kiki - Ajimi Kiki is the art class teacher and she's Hibiki's worst nightmare. Her catchphrase is "Da Vinci!" To become Ajimi, you'll need an extra-long pink wig and then go for the braided twin-tail approach to replicate Ajimi's hairstyle. Don't forget her glasses! With that settled, you're now Ajimi Kiki. Just don't approach the nearest Hibiki Shikyoin cosplayer because "all hell breaks loose" within contact. DA VINCI!!!

As Non Manaka - Non Manaka is Laala Manaka's little sister. In Season 3, with the competition to become Divine Idols in full swing, Non joined the fray in the form of the TRIANGLE unit consisting of Kanon, Junon, and Pinon. Sadly, the TRIANGLE unit is nothing but a scam busted and Non starts over at PriPara...by finding proper friends worthy of creating her own unit. To become Non, all you need is an extremely long light-purple wig and then give it the ponytail to match Non's look. Feel free to choose any of the costumes she wore in the show. Just be sure to have fun and enjoy your time!

As Chili Tsukikawa - Chili Tsukikawa may be a shy girl living with a wealthy family but in PriPara, she's a high-and-mighty idol who demands respect. To become Chili, all you need is a long dark green wig. With the wig ready, prepare for the hard parts because of the noodle-ish hairstyle with the rounded braided bits on the sides. With the complicating parts settled you're now Chili Tsukikawa.

As Pepper Taiyou - Pepper is a jungle idol who came from Aprika and was raised by lions. To become Pepper, you'll need a rather short midsize sand-colored wig and then pepper it to match Pepper's hairstyle. Pun intended. You'll become the jungle idol Pepper in no time and the outfits she wore are up to you. Just don't eat the Scout Mascots, please.

As Jewlie - Posing as Jururu, the little baby Laala Manaka adopted and raised, Jewlie is of course the legendary PriPara goddess. Prepare the extremely long light green wig because replicating Jewlie's hairstyle is going to be a long day. The front parts have the look of a Basset Hound's ears with the round part at the top. Below, the braids will pose the biggest challenge while replicating Jewlie's hairstyle. This is going to be the toughest task if you want to cosplay as the PriPara goddess Jewlie but have faith. You can do this.

As Janis - Janis is a PriPara goddess just like Jewlie but both are in the middle of a sibling strife. To prove Jewlie wrong, Janis assists the Non Sugar team in the hopes of crushing the competition and Jewlie herself. Just like Jewlie, expect extreme difficulty if you're to replicate Janis' hairstyle with the extremely long white wig. The front parts have the look of a Basset Hound's ears with the round part at the top. Don't forget the braids below.

As Yui Yumekawa - Yui Yumekawa is a sixth grader at the Avocado Private Academy who dreams of becoming the best idol in the hopes of surpassing her brother Shogo. Teaming up with Laala Manaka, they're on a quest to reshape the Paparajuku PriPara by all means. To become Yui Yumekawa, all you need is a long light blond wig and then give it some short twisted twintails. Yumekawa! You're now Yui Yumekawa!

As Nino Nijiiro - Nino Nijiiro is the Avocado Private Academy's star athlete with a can-do spirit. She became a PriPara idol in the hopes of surpassing Sion Todo. Becoming Nino requires a turquoise-colored wig that is not too short and not too long. Just the right size. Then give it a light green gradient while matching Nino's hairstyle. A big yellow ribbon is a must!

As Michiru Kouda - Michiru Kouda is a second-year middle schooler whose luck often runs out. Thanks to the Gaarmageddon antics, she enters PriPara as Miichiru, the princess of the so-called long-lost kingdom of Puu and known for her high-and-mighty attitude. If you want to cosplay as Michiru Kouda, you will need a very long gray wig, which must be at least waist-length. You should braid the front side of the wig and style it to match Michiru's hairstyle. You can also choose to dress up in any of the outfits she wore in the series.

As Shuka Hanazono - Shuka Hanazono, the primadonna who believes “Idol Time is Money,” runs a Rich Venus shop in Paparajuku’s PriPara. She sees Yui Yumekawa as her arch-nemesis and while she is the little sister of the legendary idol Mia Hanazono, Shuka has more priority than her big sister. If you’re going to cosplay as Shuka, all you’ll need is a super long dark purple wig, and then give it the bangs to match Shuka’s hairstyle. Her outfits are all over the place, so pick the one you like the best.

As Falala A Larm - Falala A Larm is the mysterious goddess who pops up during the concert's Super Idol Time segment where she invites the idols to the Time Garden. She usually continues to sleep in the clock tower of Paparajuku's PriPara but she can be only awakened when the clock's hands move by the power of the idols' stage performances. To become Falala, all you need is an extremely long light green wig, give it the twin-tail look, and twirl the bottom half of each tail. This is extremely tricky but if you can pull it off, you'll become Falala A Larm.

As Garara S Leep - Garara S Leep is also a mysterious goddess who resembles Falala A Larm but she's the villainess who is responsible for putting Falala to sleep and the destruction of the ancient PriPara that was in present-day Paparajuku a long time ago with her scout mascot, Pakku. Becoming Garara requires an extremely long dark blue wig. That's the first step. The difficult bits involve giving it a twin-tail look and twirling the bottom half of each tail.

As Amari Katasumi - Amari Katasumi is an average high-school girl doing average things until her fateful encounter with Laala Manaka dragged her to Idol Land. In the past, she loved PriPara, but now, she's up to save it, although unsure of what to do around Idol Land. The first thing you’ll need for your Amari Katasumi cosplay is a long, light turquoise wig. Her hairstyle is not for the faint of heart. Amari’s twin tails have a wrap-around bottom half on each tail. If you can pull that off, you’re basically there. Don't forget the pink ribbon to your top left. The rest is just a matter of choosing the right costume. Whatever you do, don’t forget to have fun!

And there you have it. How to be one of your favorite PriPara idols. If you’re a fan of PriPara, then you’ve probably spent some time dreaming about becoming one of your favorite idols. Well, here’s how you do it: pick a character, study their hairstyles, and then decide which of their costumes you want to wear.

Goodbye and Happy 10th Anniversary to the world of PriPara!

How to dress as the AiPri idols

Himitsu no AiPri, the fifth installment of the Pretty Series is about two girls, Himari and Mitsuki, striving to become the best AiPri idols amid heated competition from the best of the AiPriVerse.

As anime convention season draws near, it looks like you have grown interested in the new Pretty Series installment and you wanted to be one of the AiPri idols. Guess what? No need to go to the AiPriVerse because now, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorite AiPri idols. With that, welcome to AiPriVerse Day!

Himitsu no AiPri
Himitsu no AiPri

As Himari Aozora - Himari Aozora is the main character of the show. A cheerful and energetic middle-schooler who dreams of scoring a million friends. She represents the Poppin' Heart brand. If you want to transform yourself into Himari Aozora, the main character of Himitsu no AiPri, the first step is to get her extremely long pink hair. That’s the intermediate task. But if you’re up for the advanced task, you’ll need to learn how to style her twin tails. They need to be twirled just right, and they need to be positioned above the head. It’s definitely not easy, but if you want to truly become Himari, you have to go all out. With the hairstyle sorted out, you're now officially Himari Aozora! Feel free to pick whatever costume you like for this cosplay.

As Sakura Ichijoji - Sakura Ichijoji is the President of the Paradise Private Academy's Student Council, the eye of the campus, a cunning elitist with a plan, and a member of Ruby=Lazuli. She represents the Scarlet Butterfly brand. The first step to becoming Sakura Ichijoji is to get an extra-long red wig. But the real struggle is learning to braid between the rear ponytail. It’s not easy, but if you get it right, you’re officially Sakura Ichijoji.

As Tamaki Nikaido - Tamaki Nikaido is a member of the Paradise Private Academy Student Council and she's a real fashion leader with a strong sense of style. She represents the Rosession brand and is a member of Ruby=Lazuli. An extremely long bright peach-colored hairdo is the first task of becoming Tamaki but the braided twin-tails are worthy of a challenge. With that sorted, you're now officially Tamaki Nikaido.

As Airi Mitsuba - Airi Mitsuba from the anime Himitsu no AiPri seems like an interesting character. She's on the Student Council at Paradise Private Academy, but she's not just into books! Airi also enjoys business tactics, robotics, and programming. Plus, she represents the Rainbow Candy brand and is a member of AISMIRIN. If you want to cosplay as Airi, all you'll need to do is get a short lime green hairdo and style it to look like hers. The costume should be easy to find after that. Would you want to cosplay as Airi Mitsuba?

As Rinrin Shinomiya - Rinrin Shinomiya is a member of the Paradise Private Academy Student Council and her specialty is data analysis. She represents the Bear Bear Bear brand and is a member of AISMIRIN. If you're planning a Rinrin Shinomiya cosplay, you're going to need a long orange hairdo that matches her double bun segments. And not just any buns, but perfectly round, perfectly symmetrical, perfectly orange buns. The probability of you cosplaying as Rinrin is so-so, but if you can pull off the hairstyle, you can officially call yourself a Rinrin Shinomiya cosplayer. Good luck!

As Chii Mamiya - Chii Mamiya is one of Himari's classmates and she's a brash loudmouth who tries to make her name in the AiPriVerse, no matter how many times she failed. She represents the Love My Music brand. Just a light lavender-colored short hair would do the trick and then put a light green headband onto it. That's it.

As Tsumugi Suzukaze - Tsumugi Suzukaze is the mysterious girl lurking around the AiPriVerse. Everything about her is unknown for the moment. Who is she and how did she know Himari Aozora? She represents the Flower March brand. Although Tsumugi is enigmatic, there's nothing enigmatic about her hairstyle. A long black hair is all you need and then slightly fix it to match Tsumugi's hairstyle. With that, you'll be the mysterious girl from the AiPriVerse. The costumes are up to you...if there's one.

...and there you have it. How to be your favorite idol from Himitsu no AiPri. Who needs to go to the AiPriVerse to see their favorite idols when you can become one yourself? With these tips on how to dress up as your favorite character from Himitsu no AiPri, cosplaying will be a piece of cake.

If you’re a fan of Himari Aozora or Mitsuki Hoshikawa, this is definitely an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss. With the right hairdo, hairstyle, and costume, you’ll be ready to walk the stage as your favorite idol. Now, go out there and shine like the AiPri idol you are!

The beginner's guide to the Pretty Series

With the recent announcement of the new Pretty Series installment titled Himitsu no AiPri, it's about time the Pretty Series returned after over a year since the Waccha PriMagi! series finale. In celebration of the newest installment, let's take a quick history lesson about the Pretty series.

Pretty Series
Pretty Series

The Pretty Rhythm Saga (2010-2014) - The Pretty Series saga began on July 15, 2010, with the arcade game titled Pretty Rhythm Mini Skirt. Made by Takara Tomy and developer SynSophia, this arcade game pits players in the role of Prism Stars, performing Prism Jumps, and collecting Prism Stones.

They even got a 2019 anime show, showcasing the rise of the boys who would become Septentrion.

The PriPara saga (2014-2018, 2021~) After the end of the Pretty Rhythm saga,  the folks of Takara Tomy prepped up what it seems to be the second generation of the Pretty series. It's called PriPara, and it aired on TV Tokyo in the Summer of 2014, lasting for three seasons, four if you count Idol Time PriPara, of course. This anime series centers on the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who wants to be the best PriPara idol. Together with Mirei Minami and Sophy Hojo, they became SoLaMi Smile, and they fought their way against the best idol teams of PriPara, especially Dressing Pafe, consisting of Dorothy, Reona, and Sion, Tricolore, and Gaarmageddon, among many others.

It's about a group of girls who call themselves the Miracle☆Kiratt,s who are striving to become the best PriChan idols above the rest.

AiPri - After over a year of void, the Pretty Series has returned with the newest installment coming to TV Tokyo this April 2024. Titled Himitsu no AiPri, the new series stars Minori Fujidera as Himari Aozora and Sae Hiratsuka as Mitsuki Hoshikawa. For the first time in the Pretty Series, the animation sequences were provided by OLM, the studio behind the Pokémon and Yo-Kai Watch anime series, while South Korea's Dongwoo A&E returned to cooperate for it.

A decade of PriPara! From the beginning to Idol Land!

After years of delays, the Idol Land PriPara app game finally lands tomorrow, welcoming fans back to the world of PriPara like they've never been before. In honor of the return of PriPara in the newest app game, it's time for a quick trip back memory lane for a journey to the decade of PriPara.

Known as the second generation of the Pretty series, PriPara aired on TV Tokyo in the Summer of 2014 and lasted for three seasons, four if you count Idol Time PriPara of course. This anime series centers on the life and times of Laala Manaka, a little girl who wants to be the best PriPara idol.

A decade of PriPara...How did Laala and her friends go from there? Ready for a quick dive through the decade of PriPara? (Although spoilery, it's still recommended for those who don't know PriPara in case those who used to know PriPara got completely forgotten following...the incident)

Idol Land PriPara

Laala Manaka is your typical elementary school student living a typical life in the city of Parajuku, until her life changed forever when she emerged to the world of PriPara, a fantasy world where every girl can be an idol. She made a fateful encounter with an idol named Mirei, a sweet-looking PriPara idol who, in reality, is a strict middle-schooler with a knack for slapping violation tickets.

Later, she met a wide variety of characters such as Sophy Hojo, the laid-back girl with a secret cool self, Dorothy and Reona West, twins with different attitudes, and Sion Todo, an idol girl whose everyday life is a battle. With that, Laala, Mirei, and Sophy formed the unit SoLaMi Smile while Dorothy, Reona, and Sion formed Dressing Pafe.

As the girls perform on PriPara in the hopes to become victors of the Idol Grand Prix, they've uncovered the secret of a mysterious vocal doll named Falulu, and thanks to their efforts, Falulu found freedom outside PriPara.

The SoLaMi Smile girls faced new competition such as the arrival of Aroma Kurosu, Mikan Shiratama, Gaaruru, Hibiki Shikyoin, Fuwari Midorikaze, and others.

With the advent of the mysterious PriPara goddess Jewlie, Laala and her friends faced the ultimate challenge; the road to becoming Divine Idols. Unknown to her; Laala's sister Non joined the fray in the form of the TRIANGLE unit consisting of Kanon, Junon, and Pinon. Sadly, the TRIANGLE unit is nothing but a scam busted, and looks like Non starts over at PriPara...by finding proper friends worthy of creating her own unit.

With odd faces like Chili Tsukikawa and Pepper Taiyou became Non's friends, not to mention an unlikely help from someone named Janis, a PriPara goddess in the middle of sibling strife with Jewlie, Non Sugar was born.

The road to becoming Divine Idols is a fierce bout as many units will enter but only one unit will emerge. SoLaMi Smile fought through the ranks and ultimately defeated Dressing Pafe to become divine idols. However, all that victory came with a hefty price; the destruction of PriPara. Racing against time, the idols go all-out to save PriPara.

With Parajuku's PriPara saved and the goddess siblings' loose ends sorted, the journey continues for Laala Manaka as she became a transfer student to Paparajuku's Avocado Academy. This is where we meet Yui Yumekawa, a little girl who dreams to become the best idol in the hopes to surpass her brother Shogo, who belongs to a famous DanPri (PriPara for boys) unit named WITH alongside Asahi and Koyoi.

When Yui heard of a recently opened PriPara shop near her school, Yui expressed excitement until her fateful encounter with Laala. The two girls check it out for themselves except for one major problem; following an accidental encounter, Laala can't PriPara change!

Paparajuku's PriPara feels like an empty place for them but it's up to Yui and Laala to reshape this place by getting the word to the girls of Paparajuku in order for this place to grow. Their efforts attracted new PriPara idols such as Nino Nijiiro, the can-do athlete, and Michiru Kouda, the unlucky middle-schooler girl.

As the girls' Idol Time adventure progressed, they uncovered a mysterious secret regarding this place. It was actually the ancient PriPara that was shaped by the mysterious girl named Falala A Larm, only to be destroyed by someone named Garara S Leep and her critter Pakku just by eating girls' dreams. There's also a prophecy surrounding it.

Tasked to form a unit that will save Paparajuku's PriPara, Yui must convince Nino and Michiru to form themselves as a team. It wasn't an easy task but with everything they know about Nino and Michiru came full circle, they joined forces with Yui and together, they are MY DREAM. The trio defeated Shuka Hanazono and emerged as winners of the Idol Time Grand Prix. What's more, Falala appears and she managed to bring back Laala's PriPara form. Although Falala's time in PriPara was cut short, she did mention the mysterious glasses that can uncover the mysterious prophecy.

As the girls search for the mysterious glasses, Shuka suddenly joined forces with Garara but their friendship was nothing more than a ploy to steal girls' dreams. Shuka ended up becoming Garara's puppet just to fulfill her evil deeds. Shuka felt devastated following Garara's performance but her sister, the legendary idol Mia, stepped in to save the day. After Mia's legendary performance, the last piece of the mysterious glasses was found at the hands of the Abominable Snowman (Woman), and the prophecy's uncovered.

The prophecy says that they must use the key to unlock the door to the past, use the powers of the time dresses, and recover the mysterious jewel. With Nino and Michiru sorted out their loose ends for the mysterious time dresses, Yui's locked in a duel against Shuka in the Idol Time Grand Prix for the final time dress, and thanks to Yui's true purpose to build a true PriPara where everybody can be happy, she defeated Shuka and win the Idol Time Grand Prix, winning the final time dress needed for the prophecy.

With the three mysterious time dresses obtained as well as the key after Shuka spent most of her savings to the Shoebill who has the key, the MY DREAM girls travel back in time and obtained the mysterious jewel from a turtle named Kai. Thanks to the jewel, Falala, and Garara's loose ends were mended and Paparajuku's PriPara is freed from time restrictions, however Pakku's unhappy about Garara's new purpose. Expressing anger over Garara dumping him, he ate the newly-united clock tower and became a kaiju wreaking havoc all over Paparajuku PriPara. Falala and Garara used their powers to calm Pakku down but because of Yui's, Pakku is still on an emotional rampage and he's going to eat Yui alive. Laala committed a selfless sacrifice to save Yui and the PriPara they've worked so hard to form it.

Following Laala's sacrifice, the entire PriPara idols come together to perform in order to move the clock forward, but despite their best efforts, it's not enough. They need something powerful to break through Pakku's sadness. This is where the Dressing Pafe steps in, committing the ultimate gamble to become god idols. With Dressing Pafe's all-or-nothing performance gamble being a success, they've become god idols and broke the barrier, giving MY DREAM the chance to save Laala.

With Laala saved, Pakku's sadness went out of control, trapping MY DREAM into it. But thanks to the all-out efforts of the PriPara idols, Paparajuku's PriPara is saved and Pakku's back to normal.

Hardly moments have passed since the events at Parajuku and Paparajuku's PriPara, but for Laala and the other PriPara idols, the adventure continues as they return to PriPara for one major event; the transition to Idol Land. Harnessing the powers of the multiverse, the whole PriPara world witnessed the beginning of the new era...until...

Thanks to an unknown threat, the transition caused most of the Prism Stone shops worldwide to disappear completely and what's worse; PriPara idols outside PriPara lost their memories regarding it during the transition! Shuka was one of them!

Despite SoLaMi Smile's efforts to save the transition, that wasn't enough until Yui Yumekawa committed a sacrifice.

With the physical pathway to PriPara no longer in existence, with only a mysterious wormhole and a mysterious smartphone app that can grant you access to it, PriPara's last hope lies in one high-school girl who has no idea what that is...Amari Katasumi.

That is the journey to the decade of PriPara. With a hilarious cast of characters, unforgettable songs for all kids, and an endless array of outfits, the world would be a boring place without PriPara. With the portal to Idol Land PriPara set to open, what does PriPara mean to you? Idols? Costumes? Music? Live shows? Adventure?

A new kind of PriPara adventure awaits and your favorite idols are waiting for you.

LET'S ¡GO!

List of Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series

It's April Fools Day of 2023 and on this day, Coco Hayashi from the recently disbanded Run Girls, Run! took over the role of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club's Setsuna Yuki from the recently outgoing Tomori Kusunoki, really caught the world by surprise because Setsuna's new CV played the role of Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan while Tomori also starred in the said show as Mirai's little sister Hikari. What a shocker, huh?

Turns out they're not the only ones involved in both the Love Live series and the nearly defunct Pretty Series (yes, I just said that because they've stopped making new animes since the Waccha PriMagi! series finale). There are others as well and with that, it's time for a little project; a quick list of the Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series. Just the big ones.

  • Aya Uchida - In the Love Live series, she played Kotori Minami from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Hina Yayoi from Waccha PriMagi!
  • Suzuko Mimori - In the Love Live series, she played Umi Sonoda from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Anju Shiratori from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Riho Iida - In the Love Live series, she played Rin Hoshizora from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Amari Katasumi from Idol Land PriPara.
  • Sora Tokui - In the Love Live series, she played Nico Yazawa from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Suzu Kurokawa from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Miyu Kubota - In the Love Live series, she played Karin Asaka from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Sophy Hojo from PriPara and Emo Moegi from Kiratto PriChan. Oh yeah, Kubota's a member of i☆Ris, the group that did the theme songs for the PriPara anime.
  • Tomori Kusunoki - As said, she used to play the role of Setsuna Yuki from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club before she retired at the end of March 2023. In the Pretty Series term, she played Hikari Momoyama, the little sister of Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Coco Hayashi - A member of the now-disbanded Run Girls, Run!, Coco took over the role of Setsuna Yuki from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club from Tomori Kusunoki on April Fools Day 2023. In the Pretty Series term, she played Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Mayu Sagara - In the Love Live series, she played Kasumi Nakasu from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Miruki Amauri from Waccha PriMagi!
  • Maria Sashide - In the Love Live series, she played Emma Verde from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Eve Kagayaki from Kiratto PriChan.
...and there you have it. A list of Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series. It's hard to imagine why both of these franchises poach each other's voiceovers for their idol girls. Oh well. With the Pretty Series we know is dead and gone after Waccha PriMagi, looks like the Love Live series is going to end up poaching Pretty Series seiyuus for their next projects. The question now is...who's next?!

Waccha PriMagi! Music Collection

Waccha PriMagi! is the fourth and final installment of the Pretty Series that revolves around the lives of Primagistas striving to become the best of the best. The show is about Matsuri Hibino, a middle-schooler who dreams to be the best just like her idol, the legendary Jennifer Sumire Sol.

Waccha PriMagi! Music Collection DX

The original soundtrack from the Waccha PriMagi! TV series has arrived and what better way to complete the entire Pretty Series soundtrack lineup than the entire music collection featuring songs and scores from what's known to be the final anime series from Pretty Series. A fitting tribute for the last of its kind.

With the BGMs curated by Hiromi Mizutani, the OST features all of the songs performed by your favorite Primagistas including full-sized versions of songs never before released such as 天頂のコンフィアンサ by Hina Yayoi and Amane Sumeragi, Sweetness×Darkness by Miruki Amauri and Lemon Kokoa, Lux Aeterna by Jennifer Sumire Sol, and the six-idol version of -What's your "Please" Magic?-. Yes, Auru Omega's included in the song that had Matsuri, Hina, Miruki, Lemon, and Amane on it.

The DX version features a blu-ray disc that features textless opening and closing sequences plus music videos from your favorite Primagistas.

An appropriately grand goodbye not just for PriMagi but for the entire Pretty Series. Shame that they won't be making animes after this.

How to dress as the PriMagistas

Waccha PriMagi! is the fourth installment of Takara Tomy's Pretty franchise which sets in the world where magic and entertainment collide in one unique setting. The show is about Matsuri Hibino, a middle-schooler who dreams to be the best just like her idol, the legendary Jennifer Sumire Sol.

Waccha PriMagi!

As fans prepare to shed some tears for the series finale, let's slow things down as I'll teach you how to be one of your favorite Primagistas from the show.

As Matsuri Hibino - Matsuri Hibino is a middle-schooler who dreams to be the best just like her idol, the legendary Jennifer Sumire Sol. To become Matsuri, it's best to start with very long pinkish hair, then slather it with some peach gradient below and some baby blue-colored extensions on the top. With that hairdo done, feel free to pick whatever outfits she wore in the series. Don't forget a Myamu plushie as well when you need her.

As Hina Yayoi - Hina Yayoi's the strong-armed, athletic type of girl who wants to surpass Jennifer by all means. To become Hina, it's best to start with long orange hair, give it a left-side ponytail as long as it matches Hina's hairstyle, and slather it with some purple paint below. With Hina's hairstyle done, feel free to pick whatever outfits she wore in the series, especially her Flame Elements outfit. A Chimumu plushie is optional.

As Miruki Amauri -Miruki Amauri is a devotee of all things cute but behind her cute looks lies a dark side. A semi-long blond hair should do the trick but be sure to add some pink extensions, a lot of pink extensions, and curve your hairdo to match Miruki's. With Miruki's hairstyle done, the outfits she wore in the series are up to you. A Hanitan plushie is optional.

As Lemon Kokoa - Lemon Kokoa is a shy goth girl who loves playing video games and she's fond of idols. When she's in shock, she often lets her ectoplasm from her mouth out, which is her trademark. To become Lemon, you'll need long blond hair to start with, then give the side some circular bits, curve the undersides, paint it green, make the inner side of the hair dark blue, and give the middle part of the hairstyle some blue extensions. With the complicating procedure done, you're now officially Lemon Kokoa and you're free to pick whatever outfits she wore in the show. A Carron plush is optional and oh, the ectoplasm part is optional as well if you're in a state of shock. Ahhhhh........

As Amane Sumeragi - Amane Sumeragi is an elegant young woman who enrolled in a very fancy school. Although winning girls' hearts is her specialty, Amane struggles to deal with the one girl who changed her heart; the girl named Midoriko. Becoming Amane is plain simple from the start. You'll need short crimson hair to start with and then slather it with some white extensions, as long as it matches Amane's hairstyle. With that settled, you're now officially Amane Sumeragi. Feel free to pick whatever outfits she wore and when you're ready to capture some ladies' hearts, so be it. A Patano plush is optional, just to remind you.

As Auru Omega - Auru Omega is a quirky techie and a real know-it-all. Her father, the CEO of Omega Corporation, is involved in a conspiracy to control PriMagi. Anyway, to become Auru, you'll need short, turquoise-colored hair to work with, and then fit it with some light green extensions. Voila, you're now the techie girl with a conspiracy-driven, power-hungry CEO dad. Pick whatever outfits you want as long as it matches Auru's aesthetics.

As Jennifer Sumire Sol - Jennifer Sumire Sol deserves no introduction because she is by no means the legendary Primagista known the world over. Despite her legendary status, Jennifer's involved in a conspiracy with the CEO of Omega Corporation. Becoming Jennifer will be the toughest feat yet for someone planning to cosplay as the legendary Primagista. First, get long blond hair, then give it a ponytail look. With that done, be prepared with a massive array of extensions to recreate Jennifer's hairstyle. If by massive, there's a lot of extension colors needed such as light green, turquoise, blue, silver, magenta, everything! It's tricky to pull this one off but believe in yourself. After completing the most complicated task, feel free to pick whatever outfits she wore, including the Sun Elements outfit that spelled doom to PriMagi.

...and there you have it. Becoming one of your favorite Waccha PriMagi Primagistas. Performing on stages, showing off, and with a little magic, it's all part of the Mana-Mana-Magipa-Pachuppi assurance as a Primagista.

Enjoy cosplaying as one of your favorite Primagistas!

Kiratto Pri☆Chan Music Collection Season 3

The third and final season of Kiratto Pri☆Chan saw the Miracle Kiratts trio taking on a whole new challenge; they and the other groups battling through the wonders of the theme park known as Pri☆Chan Land, orchestrated by the Kagayaki Corporation. With their idol mascots alongside them, it's an all-or-nothing battle royale to determine who will win the Castle Illuminage Coord. The adventure is intense as well as secrets uncovered over the key characters involved in the Pri☆Chan Land. In the end, this is Kiratto Pri☆Chan at its peak.

Music Collection Season 3 DX

With the series well and truly over last year, the original soundtrack from the final season of Kiratto Pri☆Chan has arrived, packed with most of the songs heard from the TV series, including the full version of the song titled ファイナルイルミネーション by Miracle Kiratts.

Like the previous one, the original soundtrack is packed with BGMs made possible by Tatsuya Kato, TV-sized versions of opening and closing theme songs of Kiratto PriChan Season 3, all the featured songs, and more.

The DX version not only features the soundtrack but also a DVD which features textless opening and closing sequences as well as performances from the TV show.

It's their way of saying thank you for watching Kiratto Pri☆Chan. Whether you're a fan of Miracle Kiratts, Meltic StAr, Ring Marry, or the others, you're glad you have been part of their sparkling journey since the series began in April 2018. Of course, the series is well and truly over last year but the arcade game is closing its doors at the end of February, so this really is a farewell gift from the world of Kiratto Pri☆Chan.
