Having enjoyed the first chapter of the Nijigasaki movie trilogy, the movie's theme song has arrived, giving you plenty of reasons why you became part of the recent Nijigasaki adventure.

Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen Chapter 1

Yes, everybody knows you are starting to miss the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club ever since, well, you get the idea. Since the whole world's missing them so much, the girls are back in the first chapter of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club movie trilogy that will serve as the true ending for the girls' adventure.

Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen Chapter 1
Nijigasaki High School Idol Club
Kanketsu-hen Chapter 1

The Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is back in its first theatrical outing, "Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Kanketsu-hen Chapter 1". It's the first chapter of the movie trilogy that will serve as the true ending for the girls' adventure. The girls are in Okinawa, taking on a new challenge; the School Idol GPX (Grand Prix). Ayumu Uehara, Kasumi Nakasu, Shizuku Osaka, Kanata Konoe, Emma Verde, and Zhou Lanzhu are chosen to take part in the event where school idols across Japan clash to become "the most popular school idol right now".

This movie features signature moments fans have come to expect from the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club: comical mischief, dramatic moments, and the cream of the crop: musical sequences. Trust them, it's the musical performances that the fans are clamoring for after moments of being distanced. It's proof that no matter what happens, the Nijigasaki girls are here to stay.

The Okinawa setting is a turning point for this movie. It's the first time a Love Live movie has been set on its home soil. When you watch an anime show or movie, you usually see a selection of beautiful landscape photographs. This movie is one of those. When fans enjoyed watching the movie, they were inspired to rush to the locations they saw in the movie and take pictures to share with the world. That's the spirit of touring, not just the Nijigasaki way, but the Love Live way.

Similar to 2018's Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie, no two post-credits sequences are the same because this movie features different post-credits sequences. True Love Live fanatics must re-watch this movie every day to experience the entire post-credits sequences. Sounds hard but it's worth the shot.

Their first movie adventure is a must-see for fans, especially those who missed them. It has comedy, drama, music, and the usual Nijigasaki moments. Don't expect anything in return, but be prepared for what comes next!

Great to have you back, girls. Bring it on!

How to dress as one of the Liella girls (One more time...honest.)

I have some great news for all the Love Live! fans out there: the Liella girls are back! The third season of Love Live! Super Star!! will be coming to NHK ETV on October 6, 2024. In an exciting first for the Love Live! TV anime franchise, this season will bring the girls' adventures to a thrilling conclusion. But first, they'll have to face off against their biggest threat yet: Wien Margarete, the rival school idol who was defeated by Liella! She's transferred to Yuigaoka Girls High with one thing on her mind: revenge!

I'm so excited to see how this plays out. The Liella girls are sure to give it their all, and I can't wait to see how they handle this intense new challenge. Mark your calendars for October 6th and get ready for the most dramatic season of Love Live! Super Star!! yet!

Anyway, in anticipation of the most dramatic chapter in the Love Live! Super Star!! saga ever told, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorite Liella girls for one last time. Honest.

Love Live! SuperStar!!
Love Live! SuperStar!!

As Kanon Shibuya - Kanon Shibuya is a humble and free-spirited young girl who aspires to become a school idol. She's the brainchild of the school idol group Liella! Becoming Kanon Shibuya is an easy task. You'll need a semi-long orange hair sized enough to be tweaked to Kanon's style. With that sorted, put on the Yuigaoka Girls High School uniform and you're ready.

As Tang Keke - Hailed from Shanghai, Tang Keke is a close friend of Kanon who has a fistful of ideas. A short sand-colored hair should do the trick but don't forget to put some pink highlights on it and then match the bangs to Keke's style. With that hairstyle done, time to put on the Yuigaoka Girls High School uniform and you're Tang Keke!

As Chisato Arashi - Chisato Arashi is Kanon's childhood friend and a talented dancer who wants to impress Kanon. The long white hair is the starting point for your Chisato Arashi cosplay and to match her hairstyle, you'll need to give it some pigtails and then some round bits on the upper sides. With the hairstyle done and the uniform set, you're now Chisato Arashi.

As Sumire Heanna - Sumire Heanna is a klutzy sassy girl who gets into all sorts of mess easily. Just a long blond hair and a red hairband should do the trick and with the uniform set, you're now Sumire Heanna. Galaxy!

As Ren Hazuki - Ren Hazuki is a conservative type who despises being a school idol at first but a change of heart prompted her to join Liella. Long black hair ponytailed, this is the only thing you'll do if you want to be Ren Hazuki, and with the uniform ready, you're good to go.

As Kinako Sakurakoji - Kinako Sakurakoji may be an absent-minded school girl but she's brimming with excitement. To become Kinako, you'll need long dark brown hair to start with. Then, give the rear part some braids and then finish it with long twin tails. After that, put on the school uniform and you're now Kinako Sakurakoji!

As Mei Yoneme - Mei Yoneme is an aggressive type who's not good at talking about herself. Her connection with Shiki Wakana is a bit complicated. A short red hair should do the trick and then give it some side buns to your left while trying to match Mei's hairstyle. With the hairstyle done and the uniform set, you're now Mei Yoneme.

As Shiki Wakana - Shiki Wakana is a self-proclaimed genius who excels in science. She can be down-to-earth and quiet most of the time but her connection with Mei Yoneme is complicated. A short blue hair is enough to do the trick and with the uniform ready, you're now Shiki Wakana. The lab coat is optional.

As Natsumi Onitsuka - Natsumi Onitsuka is a content creator who is also a smoothie fanatic. To become Natsumi, you'll need long blond hair to work with, then give it some pink gradients, twin tails, and a white flower hair accessory to finish it off. With the hairstyle done and the uniform set, you're now Natsumi Onitsuka. Just get your vlogging gear and your favorite smoothie ready just in case.

As Wien Margarete - Hailing from Austria and enrolled at a prestigious talent academy somewhere, Wien Margarate was once the most powerful rival school idol the Liella girls faced. Having lost to Liella and Kanon remaining undecided over the proposal to study overseas, Wien has no choice...but to transfer to Yuigaoka Girls High School for one purpose; to destroy the Liella girls from within. Being Wien, you must have a long lavender-colored wig. The braids at the top front are slightly challenging to replicate so you need to be delicate and precise to match Wien's hairstyle. With that sorted, Wien Margarete is indebted to you.

As Tomari Onitsuka - Tomari Onitsuka, recently enrolled at Yuigaoka as a first-year, is the sister of Natsumi Onitsuka. She may be different compared to her sister but...could she be the key person to mediate the fresh feud between Liella and Wien Margarete? Being Tomari is a tricky feat because you'll need to find a long turquoise-colored wig to start with. With the wig prepped, you'll need the patience to replicate Tomari's twirly twin tails. It's a big job but if you execute it with no issues, you'll be Tomari Onitsuka in no time.

...and here you go. How to be one of the Liella girls!

Whether you’re a fan of the original five members, the second batch from Season 2, or the recently added two members for Season 3, there’s a Liella girl out there for everyone. I can’t wait to see you try.

Good luck and...OniNatsu!!!

How to dress as Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club members

“Link! Like! Love Live!” is a mobile game and multimedia app featuring the lives of the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club, which launched last year. When it was first launched, we were greeted by the first six members of the group. But for its second outing, three new members joined the fun. If you are not familiar with the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club, I suggest you get to know them!

It’s no surprise that more and more people are cosplaying as their favorite Hasunosora idols. I think it’s really cool how the club is growing, and it’s great to see so many people getting into cosplay as well. Since you're preparing for the big anime convention weekend ahead, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorite Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club members.

Link! Like! Love Live!
Link! Like! Love Live!

As Kaho Hinoshita - The Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club will never be possible without the schoolgirl who became the root of it all; Kaho Hinoshita, a second-year high school girl with a bright personality and a dazzling smile. Her goal is to "bloom" as a school idol, and one day perform live with 1 million people. As any Love Live cosplayer would tell you, a normal-sized orange wig is all you need and then tinker it to match Kaho's hairstyle. With Kaho's your gal, feel free to plan on the costumes she wore during her time.

As Sayaka Murano - Sayaka Murano is a second-year student who has been figure skating since she was young and is also an athlete. Her serious personality ends up taking care of them but she can be quite airheaded. To become Sayaka, all it takes is a long dark blue wig and then give it some twin tails that match Sayaka's hairstyle. With Sayaka set, the outfits are up to you.

As Kozue Otomune - Kozue Otomune is a third-year who excels in both academics and sports and has beautiful features. She serves as the school idol club's captain. Getting a long purple wig is a simple task but replicating Kozue's hairstyle is a challenge because the tail and the roundish part are positioned on her right. It's a big job but if you manage to sort it out, you're now officially Kozue Otomune.

As Tsuzuri Yugiri -Tsuzuri Yugiri is a third-year high school student and a well-known performer. Despite her status, she has a laid-back personality and people around her think of her as a genius. To cosplay as Tsuzuri, all you need is a silver, short-haired wig with red extensions. The hair is the hard part; with that done, you can choose whichever outfit you think suits her best.

As Rurino Osawa - Rurino Osawa is a returnee from the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club, and she's known for being an energizer. Get it? Energizer? She's a first-year high schooler who transferred from California, where she studied overseas in her first year. If you're looking to cosplay as Rurino, be mindful of the hairdo. It may be a long blond hairdo with a sky-blue gradient on it, but replicating Rurino's hairstyle is no walk in the park. But if you can manage to pull it off, you'll be the hit of any convention!

As Megumi Fujishima - Megumi Fujishima is a third-year student at Hasunosora Girls' High School. She is known for her talent and cuteness. She is also aware of her cuteness and is not afraid to show it off. She formed a group called "Miracla Park!" with Rurino Osawa, and they are determined to make their cuteness known all over the world. If you want to cosplay as Megumi Fujishima, you'll need a long brown wig and some rubber bands to match her hairstyle. As for her outfit, you can choose any outfit you think suits her best.

As Ginko Momose - Ginko Momose is a first-year student at Hasunosora Girls’ High School who dreams of becoming a school idol who inherits her family’s tradition. If you’re looking to cosplay as Ginko, you will need a short, dark, blackish hairdo and a traditional Japanese ornament to put in it. Ginko’s hairdo is one of the easier ones to replicate, but the traditional Japanese ornament might take some searching to find.

As Kosuzu Kachimachi - Kosuzu Kachimachi is a first-year student and the youngest child of a fishing family from Tsuruga. She's a hard worker who doesn't get discouraged even when she fails, but she sometimes makes remarks that look down on herself. Kosuzu's hairstyle is a long golden-brown one with braids at the front. Replicating Kosuzu's hairstyle won't be an easy job. but it might be fun to try. If you're feeling brave, I say go for it! If anyone can do it, it's you!

As Hime Anyoji - Hime Anyoji is a first-year student and a gamer well-known for winning student tournaments. Getting a long pink hair with the bottom part painted in blond color and then ponytailed is a simple task, right? Well, no. There are a couple of details that can be easy to miss, so make sure you take your time and get it right. It’ll be worth it in the end! Grab some rubber bands because it's going to be a long night replicating Hime Anyoji's ponytail.

Whether you’re a fan of the original six members or the new additions to the club, there’s a Hasunosora girl out there for everyone. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing cosplay that comes out of this new interest in the club.

How to dress as one of Aqours (One More Time. Promise)

It’s official. The Aqours era of Love Live is coming to an end. Aqours’ 9th Anniversary will feature “finale” concerts and the Yohane the Parhelion compilation film. It’s sad to see it end, but it’s been a great run.

Aqours 9th Anniversary Project visual
Aqours 9th Anniversary Project visual

The Aqours era of Love Live is ending and it’s sad to see it go. But before it does, it’s time for one last cosplay. Whether you’re getting ready for a big anime convention or still struggling with “post-SIF syndrome,” here’s a guide to cosplaying some of your favorite Aqours heroes:

As Chika Takami - Chika Takami is the leader of Aqours, and for one last time, you can be her! To start with, you’ll need a medium-length orange wig, and to complete the look, you’ll also need to replicate her hair accessories, including a yellow ribbon and a small green one. If you’re able to get that far, you can pretty much wear whatever outfit you want. Chika’s a second-year student whose family runs an inn. She’s also a big fan of μ’s.

As Riko Sakurauchi - If you want to cosplay as Riko, then you’ll need a crimson-colored long wig with a few specks on the right. That’s the easy part. As for the outfit, I’ll leave that up to you. Here’s a little bit about her, so you can get to know the character. Riko Sakurauchi is a former Tokyo resident who now lives in Uchiura. She is a second-year high school student who loves to draw and likes to stay indoors. She is part of the Aqours group of school idols.

As Kanan Matsuura - If you're looking to cosplay as Kanan Matsuura, you're in luck. You just need a simple long blue wig and a ponytail, although I would also recommend a wetsuit since diving is one of Kanan's favorite pastimes. You can pretty much choose whatever outfit you want as long as you've got the hair and wetsuit. Good luck, and have fun!

As Dia Kurosawa - Dia Kurosawa may have not wanted to be part of the school idol group, but she has grown into a great leader. It's hard to imagine the student council without her. Also, I am always amazed by her confidence on stage. She really came out of her shell! If you're cosplaying as Dia, you really need a long black wig. If you've cut your hair, definitely invest in a wig. But otherwise, you can wear whatever you want as long as you have the right wig.

As You Watanabe - You Watanabe is a second-year student and a very good diver who would be a great addition to any swim club. If any ladies out there don’t want to commit to a full You costume, a sandy wig might do the trick. Just make sure to cut it to the right length. Then, once that’s good to go, feel free to put on whatever outfit you want. Be warned, though, there are worse things in life than running into a You Watanabe cosplayer in a skintight racing swimsuit.

As Yoshiko Tsushima - Yoshiko Tsushima is a first-year student who prefers to be called Yohanne. For those who want to cosplay as Yohanne, the hair can be difficult. Yohanne has somewhat long, royal blue-ish hair, so it can be super tricky to find the right shade of blue for the wig. Even more challenging is the round part on the right of Yohanne's hair. It might take a while to get right, but it will be worth it! Once you have the hair, you can wear whatever outfit you like. Yohanne also dislikes mikan fruits.

As Hanamaru Kunikida - Hanamaru Kunikida is a first-year student and the daughter of a family of shrine keepers. Although she's a member of a local choir, she loves to read and gets dizzy easily. To become Hanamaru, a simple long toffee-colored hairdo should do the trick and the rest is up to you.

As Mari Ohara - Mari Ohara is a half-Japanese senior student with a fun and independent personality. She’s the daughter of an Italian-American father who had his hands full with the hotel businesses, and she likes to do things at her own pace.  Cosplaying Mari is a very challenging task because it’s hard to replicate her hairdo due to the odd-looking style at the top of her head. You definitely need a blonde hairdo, but you can choose your own outfit if you can figure out the hair.

As Ruby Kurosawa - Are you looking for a last-minute Aqours cosplay? Ruby Kurosawa is a great choice! She's a first-year student and a good friend of Hanamaru. She may be prone to crying, but she's good at sewing. You won't have to worry about finding the right outfit either. Just get a red wig and pigtails. That's all you need to become Ruby!

Aqours heroes, once and always, and now forever in our hearts.

I'm so glad the Aqours era of Love Live is going out with a bang. I know it's the end of an era, but I can't wait to see what the new era brings. I'm a little sad that it's over, but I'm so excited to see what's next. I'll miss Aqours so much, but I know they'll always be in my heart.

If you could choose to be one of the heroes, who would you be? Sorting out the costumes is the next objective for you all. Once you've done that, it's showtime! With the help of your buddies, you'll be able to show what Aqours is all about.

The Liella sub-units' first singles are a must-listen for those who can't get enough of Liella in anticipation of Love Live SuperStar's third season because truth be told, there's no other choice. Anyway, expect more to come from the Liella sub-units in the world of Love Live!

A quick history of the Love Live SIF series

In case you missed it, the Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 app game ended its service, ending the School Idol Festival series' 11-decade run. Although it's sad to see the School Idol Festival series go away, Love Live fans worldwide will forever be known that this series gave the idea of "Love Live every day, every day Love Live", whatever the reason.

Now that the SIF series is well and truly over, it's time for a quick history of the School Idol Festival series, the one that made fans fall in love with the Love Live series further.

Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE!

Love Live! School Idol Festival (2013) - Launched on April 15, 2013, the Love Live! School Idol Festival app game allows players to collect their favorite μ's idols as well as others. Apart from that, it's a rhythm game where players are tasked to tap the correct notes and conquer most of μ's greatest hits. Over its ten-year lifespan, the game received numerous updates to include idols and songs not just from μ's but also Aqours from Love Live! Sunshine!!, Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, and Liella! from Love Live! SuperStar!! The service for the first SIF app game ended at the end of March 2023 in preparation for the SIF2 game.

Love Live! School Idol Festival ~after school ACTIVITY~ Launched in 2016, it's basically the arcade version of the SIF game with 3D live performances. The arcade game only featured μ's idols and songs but the Next Stage update adds Aqours content to it. The arcade game's network service ended in October 2021 but before that, the free-to-download PS4 version was launched in March 2021.

Love Live! School Idol Festival All-Stars (2019) - Launched on September 26, 2019, this is the only SIF app game to feature 3D live performances of select songs. This game marked the debut of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, which was formed from the SIF series' Perfect Dream Project where three original idols from the first SIF app game, namely Shizuku Osaka, Emma Verde, and Kanata Konoe, were chosen to become part of the newest idol group alongside six new faces such as Ayumu Uehara, Setsuna Yuki, Karin Asaka, Ai Miyashita, Rina Tennouji, and Kasumi Nakasu. Later updates featured new additions to the group such as Shioriko Mifune, Zhong Lanzhu, and Mia Taylor. The app's service ended in June 2023.

Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 MIRACLE LIVE! (2023) - Launched on April 15, 2023, the same day the original SIF game launched ten years ago, SIF2 features the greatest hits from μ's, Aqours, Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, and Liella! to play and master as well as collecting idols. Sadly, after a year, service for the SIF2 ended recently, on March 31st, 2024, ending the SIF series' 11-year run.

Thanks for the memories, Love Live! School Idol Festival series. This series became one of the pillars of LL fandom and although no longer with us, fans will find alternative ways and means for their "Love Live every day, every day Love Live", whatever it takes.

Arigato, SIF series.

Having enjoyed the entire 13-episode series featuring magic and songs from little demon Yohane and pals, the original soundtrack has arrived and it's yours to treasure just like Yohane's memories.

It's a 2-disc OST featuring all of the background music as heard in the show, curated by Tatsuya Kato, as well as TV-sized versions of the opening and closing theme songs, as well as insert songs performed by Yohane and friends.

This soundtrack is one way of saying thanks for watching the Yohane of Parhelion anime series. Although the anime series has ended, the adventure continues for Yohane and her friends.

KAGAYAKI Don’t forget!

The Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS app game will end its service at the end of June 2023 and to commemorate the app game's imminent end-of-life, the latest Nijigasaki High School Idol Club single has arrived. This is where everything ends and everything begins.

KAGAYAKI Don’t forget!
KAGAYAKI Don’t forget!

Nijigasaki's latest single is titled "KAGAYAKI Don’t forget!" and it features the full song as heard at the end of the final chapter of the final season of the game's story mode, a fitting send-off to the SIF All-Stars as the game nears its end of service. It's also the last song to feature former Setsuna Yuki seiyuu Tomori Kusunoki on it, a sign that everything ends on it.

Aside from the main song, this single comes with an additional song titled "Sugar Sugar Yummy Yummy Parfait" and it's the first song to feature incoming Setsuna Yuki seiyuu Coco Hayashi on it, a sign that everything begins.

Everything ends and everything begins. This is what Nijigasaki's latest single is all about. Waving goodbye to the SIF ALL STARS app game as well as Tomori Kusunoki's role as Setsuna Yuki of the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is an arduous thing to do but despite the heartbreaks following the departure of two things that made them, the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club will live on because you can still enjoy with them in the new Love Live! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live app game.

The pictures and voices of them are what made the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club the group fans loved the world over and here's hoping for more future endeavors. Although this is goodbye to the SIF All-Stars game, it's not goodbye to the girls.

KAGAYAKI Don’t forget!

List of Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series

It's April Fools Day of 2023 and on this day, Coco Hayashi from the recently disbanded Run Girls, Run! took over the role of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club's Setsuna Yuki from the recently outgoing Tomori Kusunoki, really caught the world by surprise because Setsuna's new CV played the role of Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan while Tomori also starred in the said show as Mirai's little sister Hikari. What a shocker, huh?

Turns out they're not the only ones involved in both the Love Live series and the nearly defunct Pretty Series (yes, I just said that because they've stopped making new animes since the Waccha PriMagi! series finale). There are others as well and with that, it's time for a little project; a quick list of the Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series. Just the big ones.

  • Aya Uchida - In the Love Live series, she played Kotori Minami from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Hina Yayoi from Waccha PriMagi!
  • Suzuko Mimori - In the Love Live series, she played Umi Sonoda from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Anju Shiratori from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Riho Iida - In the Love Live series, she played Rin Hoshizora from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Amari Katasumi from Idol Land PriPara.
  • Sora Tokui - In the Love Live series, she played Nico Yazawa from the original Love Live! series. In the Pretty Series, she played Suzu Kurokawa from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Miyu Kubota - In the Love Live series, she played Karin Asaka from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Sophy Hojo from PriPara and Emo Moegi from Kiratto PriChan. Oh yeah, Kubota's a member of i☆Ris, the group that did the theme songs for the PriPara anime.
  • Tomori Kusunoki - As said, she used to play the role of Setsuna Yuki from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club before she retired at the end of March 2023. In the Pretty Series term, she played Hikari Momoyama, the little sister of Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Coco Hayashi - A member of the now-disbanded Run Girls, Run!, Coco took over the role of Setsuna Yuki from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club from Tomori Kusunoki on April Fools Day 2023. In the Pretty Series term, she played Mirai Momoyama from Kiratto PriChan.
  • Mayu Sagara - In the Love Live series, she played Kasumi Nakasu from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Miruki Amauri from Waccha PriMagi!
  • Maria Sashide - In the Love Live series, she played Emma Verde from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. In the Pretty Series, she played Eve Kagayaki from Kiratto PriChan.
...and there you have it. A list of Love Live seiyuus who were in the Pretty Series. It's hard to imagine why both of these franchises poach each other's voiceovers for their idol girls. Oh well. With the Pretty Series we know is dead and gone after Waccha PriMagi, looks like the Love Live series is going to end up poaching Pretty Series seiyuus for their next projects. The question now is...who's next?!
