Showdown in Japan: Nissan GT-R R35 vs. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

NISSAN GT-R vs CHEVY CORVETTE ZR1
Battle in Japan

Both the Nissan GT-R R35 and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 are speed kings in the automotive industry and they are fierce rivals at the ring.

Japanese motoring journalist, Manabu Kawaguchi (河口まなぶ), made a comparison against these two rivals via his official Youtube account and for the September 2011 issue of XaCAR magazine, available now. This battle will be called "NISSAN GT-R vs CHEVY CORVETTE ZR1 Battle in Japan" and for Kawaguchi-san, he's not comparing which one is the fastest. He's comparing which one is fuel efficient.

At the end, the Nissan GT-R R35 wins the fight! The Nissan GT-R's fuel economy is 10.8km/L while the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is 10.4km/L. Now that's a .4km/L gap! Godzilla snags the prize!

Ang Alamat Ng Pigsa

What makes a pigsa? One old granny on Banana Split told us about "Ang Alamat Ng Pigsa". Actually, she'll meant to say Alamat ng Pinya but changed it to pigsa in the spirit of gagging.

ANG ALAMAT NG PIGSA:

One day, there was a little girl who can't see what she's looking for. When her mother asked her for chores, she said that she didn't because she can't see until her mother got scolded for not using her eyes. Later, a fairy appeared and punished the little girl with magic. Then later, the mother tries to look her daughter until she felt something painful that she didn't realize that her daughter became her PIGSA!

Getting to know more about CT

Hello there, it's me! Now, I've visited Lexus of Bellevue to check out more about the all new Lexus CT 200h, the Japanese luxury brand's first 5-door hybrid hatchback that shows the darker side of green.

What they have here is the base model. Expect no remote touch, no flip-up monitor, nothing. Except for the USB connectivity! Now, let's think about this front view. At first glance, the front view will take a bold new step on Lexus' L-Finesse design philosophy. The CT200h is designed to be more European.

The side view is pretty much more elegant if you asked me.

The rear view looks sophisticated

The real action takes place on the interior. The seats are far too comfortable if you asked me.

This is the audio system.

Time to turn this on and let's get the party started!

This is how a tachometer looks like.

This is how a tachometer looks like when placed to Sport Mode.

Selecting which mode depends on road conditions. If you're up for some fuel economy, switch to Eco Mode. If you're up for some piece of action, switch to Sport Mode. The EV mode switches on the 60kW electric motor engine only for some low emission driving. Needless to say, the Lexus CT200h is one heck of the overpriced Prius but not in that way because of the Drive Mode Select. Eco Mode for fuel economy and Sport Mode for performance. Hybrid owners, consider yourselves doomed.

Volkswagen Tiguan Minor Change

2012 Volkswagen Tiguan
Back in 2007, Volkswagen created the Tiguan that considers to be the little brother of the behemoth Touareg SUV. Like the Touareg, the Tiguan is a rugged crossover utility vehicle that can seat up to five people and can accommodate various seating arrangements. Now, the Tiguan minor change for the 2012 Model Year really describes it the Touareg's little brother because the front view now is now similar to the second-generation Volkswagen Touareg! It's been working out for about four years but now, the crossover from VW gets an extensive minor change to satisfy the demands of European customers.

For the exterior, the minor change Tiguan sports a new front view that is highly similar to the second-generation Touareg, making it more tough and destined to call this crossover "all grown up" to take on the world. The rear view has been redesigned as well to give it more like the Golf VI, thus making it the best of both worlds.

There are four styles to choose from; Trend & Fun, Track & Field, Sport & Style, and Track & Style.

2012 Volkswagen Tiguan interior

The interior has been mildly upgraded to make it more luxurious and comfortable like the Touareg. The instrumental panel's been retouched, the steering wheel's been changed, the air conditioning's get even more better, the new interior really makes it up to the ever-changing demands of the customers but that is just only the beginning. The new "Dynaudio Contour" Sound System will provide a dynamic sound experience inside the new Tiguan and listening to music will never be the same. A radio navigation system is also provided to keep themselves updated on the go when it comes to directions, traffic reports, breaking news, top 20 musics, and more.

There are two petrol engines and three diesel engines available on the Tiguan minor change, with the addition of the new CAVD (1.4 TSI) engine and the new CCZB (2.0 TSI) engine. The new CAVD engine provides 160 PS/5800rpm of power output, 240 Nm/1500–4500rpm of torque output, 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, top speed of 184 km/h, and fuel economy of 15.4km/L. The new CCZB engine provides 211 PS/5300–6200rpm of power output, 280 Nm/1700–5300rpm of torque output, 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds, top speed of 202km/h, and fuel economy of 11.6km/L. Most variants are equipped with 4MOTION for the ultimate in four-wheel drive experience while some are equipped with the BlueMotion Technology (applicable for TDi versions of the Tiguan) to bring out the best in eco car technology. Available transmissions include a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DSG.

Available exterior colors are Candy-Weiß, Deep Ocean Blue, Acapulcoblau Metallic, Night Blue Metallic, Pepper Grey Metallic, Reflexsilber Metallic, Silver Leaf Metallic, Titanium Beige Metallic, Toffeebraun Metallic, Wild Cherry Red Metallic, Deep Black Perleffekt, and Veneziengrün Perleffekt.

My comment:

Get a load of that, huh? The Tiguan minor change do really behave as its big brother, the Touareg, did. What can you say? Does this minor change really suit your expectations. Being an off-roader is a tough act to follow for the new Tiguan but with its minor change, I guess that this Deutsche crossover is all grown up to take on new challenges left by other competitors like the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage R, Ssangyong Korando C, Renault Koleos (Renault Samsung QM5), Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, Dodge Journey, Fiat Freemont, Toyota RAV4, Mitsubishi Outlander, Peugeot 3008, and other crossovers I know.

What if our trousers are up until our chests?

For style...

Difficult check-up

Teasing

Okay, what if our trousers are up until our chests? A Banana Split segment like Ano Nga Kaya explained all of this. Would you imagine if we ended up wearing like these? This is weird but we hope that won't happened...

After imagining what if our trousers are up until our chests, Ryan Bang told us another set of "Kore-pino" words we might be interested with. The Korean word for bank/bangko is UNHAENG but did you know that UNHAENG sounds like ANGHANG or spicy in Filipino? How about the Korean word for butter is POT-O? The Korean word POT-O rhymes with PUTO, which is kakanin in Filipino! Hope you'll lilly lilly like ANGHANG na PUTO! :D

Alpha Bert and Letterman stops the suicidal!

A woman calls the help of Alpha Bert (Jobert) and Letterman (Jason Francisco) because her Tsong is about to kill himself. They rushed on the man who is about to kill himself with a LUBID! To stop this, Letterman turns LUBID into TUBIG. That TUBIG idea wasn't such a good idea because the man can kill himself by drowning on the TUBIG. Time for Alpha Bert to turn the TUBIG into TUBO. Looks like the TUBO idea didn't work too because this man can kill himself with the TUBO. How about Letterman turn TUBO into UBO?

UBO!

Weird but life-saving! The man can't kill himself with UBO! All done!

ANG TV PATROL TEXT JOKE:

Angry Japanese protesters vs. Fuji Television

Yesterday (August 7, 2011), in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan, a bunch of angry Japanese people are marching around the Fuji TV head office on Odaiba, most of them are saying "No More Hallyu", in response to Sousuke Takaoka's twitter rant against the Korean pop culture that is already spreading Japan like any other countries that went gaga over Hallyu (Korean wave). Most of them are very angry about Fuji TV airing so many Korean dramas, K-POP, or everything Korean. Aside from that, there are some hating products made from Kao Corporation, which of course, a sponsor of Fuji Television for their commercials. That protest happened yesterday was a preparation for August 8, Japanese call it the Fuji TV day because 8 is the channel 8 of Fuji TV, as a Day of Rage. This August 8 Day of Rage will call it "No watching of Fuji TV day" and I'm scared to see what will happen this time...

Ain't this protest troublesome for Fuji TV, right? Well, today is August 8 and let's just forget about the whole protest happened, sit down, relax, and watch some Fuji TV shows, just in case. It's nothing about that whole Sousuke Takaoka racist rant against the Koreans nor the "No More Hallyu" protests at the Fuji TV head office yesterday. We could just watch some Fuji TV shows like a normal Japanese household.

Daihatsu Mira e:S teased via leaflet?

2012 Daihatsu Mira e:S teased via leaflet?

When Daihatsu developing a special kind of fuel-saving technology known as "e:S Technology" that provides 30km/L on JC08 test cycle, we are sure that the first car will be equipped with the new energy saving technology (e:S Technology) is none other than the Mira e:S (ダイハツ・ミライース).

The new e:S Technology, soon to be applied on the 2012 Daihatsu Mira e:S, will feature a new gasoline engine, improved CVT, 60kg deduction of weight, thermal management on the engine room, regenerative braking system, and an improved version of Eco-Idle (first applied on the Daihatsu Move).

Looks like the TNP27 finally met its match. This time, this will be...TNP30 on the JC08 scale!

Check out the spy photos of the Daihatsu Mira e:S at:
