Citroen C5 Aircross K

The Citroen C5 Aircross is now in its second generation and is positioned as the flagship of the Citroen brand, reshaping the C-segment SUV class, the Citroen way.

Starting at 40,290 Euros plus additional costs, the all-new C5 Aircross is the biggest Citroen SUV ever made, thanks to the fact that it runs on the same bits and bobs as its Stellantis equivalents, the Peugeot 5008 and the Opel/Vauxhall Grandland. It's surprisingly bigger compared to the defunct Mitsubishi Outlander-based C-Crosser.

The all-new C5 Aircross brings its concept to life, proudly showcasing Citroën's fresh design theme and emphasizing its French elegance, making it a standout in the Citroën SUV lineup. Inside, it boasts a new HD Waterfall touchscreen, similar to other vehicles featuring vertical touchscreens. This touchscreen controls nearly every function of the car, including air conditioning, navigation, and driving modes. One of its most surprising features is the integration of OpenAI ChatGPT functionality.

Thanks to its sharp rise in dimensions compared to the previous C5 Aircross, this five-seater can accommodate up to 565 litres of boot space to a maximum of 1668 litres with the passenger seats folded down.

The all-new C5 Aircross is offered with the choice of a 145PS 1.2L Hybrid mated to an e-DSC6, a 1.6L PHEV with 195PS of power while mated to an e-DSC7, and the range-topping electric with a choice of a 73kWh and 97kWh battery packs, the latter of which promises up to 680km of driving range.

Now utilizing Stellantis' STLA Medium platform, the all-new C5 Aircross outperforms its predecessors. However, it remains a front-wheel drive vehicle, meaning it excels only on roads, not off-road. It's quite a contrast, isn't it?

In terms of safety, the all-new C5 Aircross features a wide array of safety features such as the semi-automatic lane changing, Rear Traffic Alert, driver surveillance camera, extended blind spot direction, VisioPark, and others.

The all-new Citroen C5 Aircross is now officially the largest Citroen crossover SUV in the lineup, and despite its size, it feels enjoyable to drive. Looks like Citroen is officially on the roll right now.

Lancia Ypsilon HF

The Red Elephant emblem has made a comeback with Lancia's revival, showcased in the first-ever all-electric Lancia Ypsilon HF. This all-electric hot hatchback aims to honor the heritage of the HF badge, which was first introduced with the legendary Delta Integrale from Lancia’s celebrated past.

Starting at 42,800 Euros plus additional costs, the first-ever Ypsilon HF promises to honor the mark of the Red Elephant in an all-electric setting that will shock and awe its drivers behind the wheel.

While the Ypsilon HF retains the familiar comforts found in the standard Ypsilon, such as the S.A.L.A. infotainment system, it stands out with its sporty design. Features like racing seats, aluminum sports pedals, and other HF-specific elements help distinguish the Ypsilon HF from the rest of the Ypsilon lineup, particularly the more basic HF-Line models.

Equipped with a 54kWh Lithium-Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt battery, the electric motor drives the front wheels and generates an impressive 280 PS of power—comparable to the performance of a 1990s Japanese sports car. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.6 seconds. As for the driving range, it's good for 373km, and when charged at a public charging station, it takes 27 minutes.

Equipped with the advanced Torsen LSF and ALCON brakes, the Ypsilon HF delivers hot hatch dynamics in an electrified setting. Mild but menacing, as expected. Just don't let its Level 2 ADAS witchcraft get the better of you while going home.

The first-ever Ypsilon HF marks an exciting revival for Lancia, introducing an all-electric hot hatch that aims to deliver the same thrilling experience as traditional hot hatches while leaving no carbon footprint. This vehicle is designed for performance on the streets without harming the environment. The Ypsilon HF truly lives up to its prestigious HF emblem.

Hyundai Nexo NH2

South Korea's only fuel-cell vehicle available to the public, the Hyundai Nexo, is now on its second generation, and this all-new model promises to give an edge to Hyundai's electrification ambitions thanks to its improved FCEV powertrain.

Starting at 76,435,000 Korean Won plus additional costs, the all-new, second-generation Nexo continues Hyundai's goals to provide fuel-cell drivability to the masses in an all-new look and feel, some would call it an 8-bit throwback.

The all-new Nexo's design is notably inspired by last year's Initium Concept. It is the first vehicle to incorporate Hyundai Motor's new design language, known as 'Art of Steel.' This design embodies the essence of HTWO, which is Hyundai Motor Group's dedicated brand for its hydrogen value chain business. While the squarish throwback look is the main charm point of the Nexo NH2, the rear view is giving us slightly PTSD feels because it reminds us of the infamous Pontiac Aztek of the distant past.

The all-new Nexo epitomizes the Hyundai brand with its impressive features. Inside, you'll find a panoramic curved display equipped with AI assistance, a leather steering wheel that includes braille at its center—consistent with most modern Hyundai models—and an electronic shift column. Other highlights include a passenger seat with an open tray, dual wireless charging for smartphones, bioprocessed natural leather seats, and an interior made from recycled PET suede. Additionally, it boasts digital rearview mirrors and a built-in dashcam, ensuring you’re prepared for whatever comes your way.

The all-new Nexo offers more space than ever, featuring an enhanced luggage area that can hold four sets of golf bags. Embracing the essence of modern living, it includes front passenger relaxation seats and second-row reclining seats for added comfort.

The all-new Nexo features an upgraded fuel cell powertrain with a 162.6-litre fuel tank. It produces 204 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque, surpassing the output of the previous model. Unfortunately, it is only available in front-wheel drive, but it offers an impressive driving range of 720 km. This range exceeds that of the late 90s lean-burn models that Hyundai often boasts about.

Dynamics-wise, the all-new Nexo features e-Handling, which controls drive torque to optimally maintain traction for each tire during cornering, a set of integrated driving modes, regenerative braking control via paddle shifters, the rather cheesy Active Sound Design similar to the IONIQ 5 N, active load noise control, and double-laminated soundproof glass.

Apart from the reinforced body for improved collision safety and nine airbags, the all-new Nexo features a wide array of safety tech, including rear side monitor, Surround View Monitor, the multi-collision avoidance automatic braking system, and pedal misoperation safety assistance, among others. For security purposes, an indoor fingerprint authentication system was implemented to make sure this car rightfully belongs to its driver.

The all-new Hyundai Nexo continues Hyundai's ambition to provide FCEVs to the masses with its retrofuturistic styling, new technology, improved FCEV powertrain, and new packaging. Although it deserves more from this FF-only FCEV crossover, it's all about continuing the ambition set by its makers. Unfinished business, they said.

Fiat Grande Panda (328)

Since 1980, the Fiat Panda has been a staple for Italian households for four-and-a-half decades, and with the arrival of the Grande Panda, the Panda's story continues with an all-new attitude to adapt to the new normal.

Starting at 14,950 Euros plus additional costs, the Grande Panda continues the Panda's four-and-a-half-decade story with an all-new look and packaging that feels right at home in the age of the new normal.

2026 Fiat Grande Panda interior

Beginning with the design, the Grande Panda's squarish design is a tribute to the original Panda, first launched in 1980, while the digitized front face looks like it stole from Hyundai's design rulebook in the name of square one, the side view proudly displays the PANDA lettering etched on the body, and the rear view, complete with its squarish taillights, proudly says FIAT etched on the rear door. For a compact car that has similar sizing between the Hyundai Casper and the Hyundai Venue, the Grande Panda looks more like a crossover than a city car, but in the end, it's all about being in a neo-classic state of mind.

Inside the Grande Panda, you'll find plastic components made from post-consumer recycled materials. The dashboard features a bamboo-inspired design and is upholstered in fabric that contains up to 30% natural bamboo fibers. The vehicle is also equipped with a 10.25-inch display, wireless charging, automatic climate control, a center armrest, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats, all of which enhance comfort and convenience.

Asked about boot space, the petrol-powered Grande Panda has 412 litres of boot space with the rear seats present and up to 1366 litres with all passenger seats folded. The Elettrica model has 361 to 1315 litres of boot space, which is sharply more than the Hyundai Casper Electric.

2026 Fiat Grande Panda
2026 Fiat Grande Panda

Under the hood, the Grande Panda is powered by a 100PS 1.2L turbocharged engine mated to a 6-speed eDCT. It does 0-100kph in 11.2 seconds and is 20kph slower than a Japanese car. The hybrid variant adds 10PS more but maintains the similar performance of the non-hybrid model, even though it has 5.1L/100km of fuel economy.

The Elettrica, meanwhile, features a 44kWh lithium battery that generates 113PS of power and 122Nm of torque, sprinting from 0-100kph in 11.5 seconds and a top speed of 132kph, which is less than what the Hyundai Casper Electric.

The Grande Panda is equipped with advanced safety systems designed to enhance protection while traveling. It features assistance through both visual and audible warnings. Key ADAS technologies include:

- Active Safety Brake: This system automatically applies the brakes in emergencies to help prevent collisions.

- Lane Keeping Assist: This feature helps ensure the car stays within its designated lane.

- Driver Attention Alert: This technology monitors signs of driver fatigue and issues alerts when necessary.

After four and a half decades, the Panda legacy continues with the arrival of the Grande Panda, which promises to be as iconic as its ancestors, despite its crossover SUV taste and the fact that it's front-wheel-drive only. This is what the "new normal" feels like for the Panda that is now all grown up to do commoner things.

Available Colors: Bronzo Luna, Giallo Limone, Blu Lago, Azzurro Acqua, Rosso Passione, Bianco Gelato, and Nero Cinema.

Cadillac Lyriq-V and Optiq-V

Cadillac's V-Series goes electric with the introduction of the V-Series' first-ever electric SUVs, the Lyriq-V and the Optiq-V. Let's find out how "shocking" these E-V's are. Pun intended.

2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V

2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V
2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V interior

Starting at $78,600 plus additional costs, the Lyriq-V is what happens when Cadillac turns the humble but dynamic Lyriq EV crossover into what's known to be the fastest-accelerating Cadillac ever made. Yes. Most of the Lyriq's highlights include the available Super Cruise, the 33-inch LED display, the Active Noise Cancellation system, slim-line LED headlamps, the AKG Studio audio system, KeyPass, a dual-level charge cord, and others. However, for the V, this AWD monster has the master's touch.

Armed with the 102kWh battery pack with up to 285 miles of driving range, the Lyriq-V's standard dual motor all-wheel-drive powertrain delivers 615HP of power and 880Nm of torque. In its Velocity Max setting, it goes from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds, making it the fastest-accelerating Cadillac ever made. Touche for a juiced EV crossover that weighs over three tons.

Despite its V credentials, don’t expect the Lyriq-V to be highly dynamic. Like many high-powered electric vehicle (EV) crossovers, handling this model can be challenging—especially during a Sunday track day at Laguna Seca on a harsh sunny day, even when set to Competitive Mode. Although equipped with Brembo performance front brake calipers that provide dramatic stopping power, they couldn't fully satisfy drivers looking for a more responsive experience.

The Lyriq-V delivers impressive acceleration, but it also serves as a reminder that the V-Series is reaching new heights in the era of electrification.

However, for those who can't afford a Lyriq-V but want a similar performance to the said car, you may be interested in the first-ever Optiq-V.

2026 Cadillac Optiq-V

2026 Cadillac Optiq-V
2026 Cadillac Optiq-V interior

Starting at $67,300, plus additional costs, the Optiq-V is a smaller, more affordable alternative to the Lyriq-V. It offers the same luxurious features as the regular Optiq, including available Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. The Optiq-V is equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack, providing a driving range of 275 miles. Its dual motor all-wheel drive (AWD) setup produces 519 horsepower and 880 Nm of torque. In its Velocity Max mode, the Optiq-V can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.

Although it has less power than the Lyriq-V, the Optiq-V's smaller and slightly lighter design makes it a versatile option for various driving scenarios, whether navigating the streets of Los Angeles, enjoying a day on the track at Laguna Seca, or exploring the rugged terrain of Yosemite. Still, it's too cheesy on a track day, even in its Competitive Mode setting.

With the arrival of the first-ever Lyriq-V and the Optiq-V, the Cadillac V-Series goes down the electrification route. Some would be unhappy about the V-Series' new route; think of these two E-Vs as experimentation in preserving the future of the Cadillac V-Series. This is what common sense feels like.
