LFA vs. IS F in "Cecilia Alcott" territory

Lexus LFA vs. Lexus IS F
in Bruntingthorpe

Sorry for the irony on the title why I called it "Cecilia Alcott" territory because the Lexus LFA in Pearl Blue and the Lexus IS F wearing "Blue Tears" colors (whoops, another irony) showing off their skills at Bruntingthorpe, UK. (Oh, that's why you called it "Cecilia Alcott territory" because of that darn Brit chick from IS!)

You know what, I'm not going to talk about this thing. I'll just leave it to my special guest, please welcome the IS School student from Britain and a representative cadet, Ms. Cecilia Alcott (セシリア・オルコット). Guess she'll do the talking for me while I'm taking a rest. orz

Cecilia Alcott from
Infinite Stratos

(British accent) Hello ladies and gents, my name is Cecilia Alcott, British representative cadet from the Infinite Stratos School. Thank you for seeing me on IS (Infinite Stratos) for after twelve episodes. Guess someone told my name on an article about something IS. He told me about a video that a Lexus IS F wearing the color of my Infinite Stratos known as "Blue Tears" clashing against a Pearl Blue Lexus LFA. Well, I'm not kind of familiar about the Lexus LFA because I don't know what this car is but I'm fairly familiar about the Lexus IS F because 'that' is 'my' kind of IS.

Of course I saw those two Lexus cars racing in my British homeland, which these two are racing through the Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds. When I saw the blue Lexus IS F races against the Lexus LFA, I thought the IS F will win because of the 8-speed Sport Direct Shift but the Lexus LFA's V10 engine (1LR-GUE) is highly powerful against the Lexus IS F, which is equipped with the 2UR-GSE (5.0L V8) engine and 8-speed SPDS (Sport Direct Shift) transmission. It's a shame watching my "Blue Tears" beaten by a V10-equipped super car. (Sigh)

Despite that, I'm happy to see those two Lexus F models comparing each other. Seeing these two Japan-made vehicles racing on my territory, I mean, at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds, made me happy that my "Blue Tears" is proven to be a good one, despite its loss by the Lexus LFA.

As I heard, the Lexus IS F is the founding father of Lexus' F marque, designed to target the likelihood of Audi's S and RS models, Mercedes-Benz's AMG, and BMW M Power. The limited edition LFA is just a one of a kind super car built by a Japanese car manufacturer. I'm glad that Toyota Motor Corporation made a really good job creating these two sports cars targeted for the elite.

It was nice to meet you all IS* fans. Until then, I'll see you soon. Bye, now!

*I think Cecilia doesn't refer to either fans of Infinite Stratos or fans of the Lexus IS line. LOL

Messy O.A. stuff Banana Split wants you to avoid...

Guess what, Banana Split called you O.A. because you were...

1) Bringing a garbage bag with you when you encounter a litter

Picking up the trash

2) Handcuffing your girlfriend so you won't lose her

Handcuffing a girlfriend

3) Eating someone else's remains of meals

Eating the remains

Well, if you're not doing those three, you're okay. If you did, well, sorry but,

ANG O.A. MO!

Ang TV Patrol text joke of the day:

Sabi ng anak: Nay, bakit po Victoria pangalan ni Ate?
Sagot si Nanay: E kase dun namin siya ginawa ng tatay nyo!
Tanong uli si anak: Ahhh, eh bakit si Kuya Anito?
Sagot si Nanay: Tumigil ka na nga Luneta, hala tawagin mo si Kuya FX mo!

3,567 Banana Split viewers agreed to this joke while 24 viewers are unhappy. According to Jason Francisco, those 24 viewers who are unhappy were the kids whose names were Luneta and FX!

Superamerica 45 - The third Ferrari under the Special Projects portfolio

In 2008, Ferrari revived the Special Projects program, a program dedicated to create a one-off special Ferrari for the very special clients or VIPs. The first is the Ferrari SP1, a F430-based special Ferrari designed exclusively for Mr. Junichiro Hiramatsu, the chairman of a very famous Ferrari club in Japan and an avid collector of everything Ferrari.
2008 Ferrari SP1
Later on, in 2010, the second Ferrari under the Special Projects portfolio is the P540 Superfast Aperta, a special Ferrari based on the 599 GTB Fiorano for a special client named Edward Walson, the son of John Walson who invented cable TV.
2010 Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta

Now, in 2011, Ferrari created the third special Ferrari under the Special Projects programmed and this one is heavily based on the Ferrari 599 (the same as the Superfast Aperta). It was unveiled ahead on the Villa d’Este Concours d’Eleganza (Concours d'Elegance) in Italy and made for a wealthy playboy in New York, avid collector (just like Junichiro Hiramatsu), and the former owner of the New York Post, Peter Kalikow.

It might seem to be based on the 599 but it was heavily based on the limited model Ferrari SA APERTA. Mr. Peter Kalikow's excited to see his very own Ferrari and most of the Ferrari owners will get jealous. Peter Kalikow's the third special client since Junichiro Hiramatsu and Edward Walson to ask Ferrari to create their own special Ferrari models under the Special Projects portfolio. We're getting jealous....

Toyota Sienta Phase III and Sienta DICE

2012 Toyota Sienta

In September 29, 2003, Toyota released the Japan-only compact 2BOX minivan, the Sienta, targeted for simple Japanese families looking for a practical compact carrier for their everyday lives. It followed with a minor change on May 16, 2006 that features a much bubblier design. Unfortunately on August 2010, Toyota cease to produce the Sienta because of the low demand or poor sales. However, on May 19, 2011, the Sienta is back with its second minor change, and labeled as "Type III", which means the Sienta is now on its third phase. With production made possible from Daihatsu, the Toyota Sienta is back and this time, it spawned into two kinds such as the standard Sienta and the squarish Sienta DICE.

The standard Sienta carries the Phase II look but offered a new round front lamps, new grille, new bumper, and a redesigned rear. The new Sienta DICE offers a smiling grille, squarish headlamps, sporty front bumper, and some chrome lamps attached at the rear. The Sienta DICE is targeted for those who are in sense of style.

2012 Toyota Sienta DICE interior

On the interior, nothing's changed from the previous two phases. What's included is the plasma cluster switch that allows clean air to come through the Sienta's interior, providing a clean atmosphere and a sense of purity. For added utility, a deck under tray is included that matches your hectic lifestyles. The Sienta and Sienta DICE is made for people who are undergoing different lifestyles.

2012 Toyota Sienta DICE

Both the Sienta and the Sienta DICE are offered with the standard 1NZ-FE VVT-i engine with the improved fuel economy of 19.2km/L in 10-15 Mode and 17.2km/L in JC08 Mode. The power output is 110PS/6,000r.p.m. and the torque output of 14.4kgf・m/4,400r.p.m. If armed with the optional 4WD, power and torque output will slightly decrease. 2WD variants are equipped with the Super CVT while 4WD variants have 4-speed Super ECT. It's up to you.

My Comment:
Thanks to Daihatsu, the Sienta is back for its third phase and this time, it spawned a stylish addition, the Sienta DICE, that features squarish headlamps, sporty front bumper, and targeted for the sense of style. The standard Sienta is made for simple drivers while the Sienta DICE is targeted for the stylish. Don't rush over these yet because both the new Sienta and the Sienta DICE are slated for June 13 sale across all Corolla dealerships and oh, expect delay of delivers. orz

A Malaysian Honda commercial does YMCA but it does serve a lesson...

Here's a weird but funny TV commercial from Honda aired in Malaysian TVs. From this commercial we saw Malay comedian Douglas Lim and his gang on what if you drive your Honda to a not-so-authorized Honda service center.

What we learned from this ad is never trust to an unauthorized service center that offers good service at super expensive prices. Only Honda Authorized Service Centers are the ones you can trust when it comes to Honda care. Not at the H-O-N-D-I, Hondi!

A Lexus IS 350C in Akatsubaki colors...

Lexus IS 350C at Westfield

While me and my family done shopping at the Westfield South Center, I saw a Lexus IS 350C wearing its proud "Akatsubaki" color, or should I say Red Mica Crystal Shine? (Laughing) Did I say Akatsubaki? You mean the IS that Houki Shinonono used on Infinite Stratos? (Laughing) Did I said something wrong?

Houki Shinonono from
Infinite Stratos

Uh-oh... Better not laugh now because Houki understands what's this and yes, she's an extremely high-blood teenage girl. She's even more aggressive than the roar of an 2UR-GSE engine! I'm sure everyone understand that Houki's a tsundere, right? She's a tsundere but more tsun-tsun, less dere-dere.

Anyway, the Lexus IS C is a perfect balance of tsun and dere or should I say style and performance. Here in Japan, it's available in either a 2.5L or a 3.5L V6 engine. 6-speed Super ECT with Paddle Shifters is standard. I would rather get away with the Lexus IS C than being kicked out by Houki Shinonono.

The 2011 Accord minor change arrived...9 months late since its Japan debut!

2011 Honda Accord Inspire

Yes, I know. The Honda Accord Inspire CP3 Phase II (the second phase of the CP3 Honda Accord Inspire launched in Japan since December 2007) was arrived in Japan since August 26, 2010 and it took us, Pinoy Honda fans, 9 months to wait till Honda Cars Philippines officially brought the Honda Accord Inspire CP3 minor change!

Scoop:

Let's see what's in store for the 2011 Accord. Well for some reasons, it sports a new grille inspired from the USDM Accord Coupe, and it featured Bluetooth connectivity exclusive to the 2011 Accord 3.5L variant. What remains the same is the interior, and the choice of either a 2.4L or the VCM 643 3.5L V6 i-VTEC engine.

Pricing starts at 1.7 million pesos for the 2.4L variant and 2.05 million pesos for the VCM 643 variant. If you guys don't know what's VCM 643, that's the Variable Cylinder Management that allows the V6 3.5L engine to run on either 6, 4, or 3 cylinders.

That was too close. And I'll mark the 2011 Accord's arrival as...

TARDY!

Ssangyong Chairman H New Classic

Well, we have to admit it that despite over 14 years of existence since its debut on October 1997, garnered its first minor change on September 2003 as "New Chairman", and offered a flagship spin-off called Chairman W since February 2008, the Ssangyong Chairman H became an aging premium sedan that was once criticized for being a carbon copy of the Mercedes Benz W124 E-Class or even the Cadillac Deville since the Chairman gained a minor change on 2003. It was similar with the Ssangyong Chairman W, which is a clone of Mercedes-Benz W221 S-Class. For 14 years of existence, it seems most Korean car enthusiasts are getting to forget about the Chairman H. However, things have changed in 2011 after Ssangyong Motor Company was taken over by Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., one of India's first-class car manufacturers, because the aging Chairman H is ready to face its second childhood.

2012 Ssangyong Chairman H

Under the name, Ssangyong Chairman H New Classic, the aging premium sedan is now made even younger with some styling cues inspired from its flagship spin-off, the Ssangyong Chairman W. Despite its flagship look, it still won't cover its aging weakness because this is the second time the Chairman received another minor change.

2012 Ssangyong Chairman H interior

Despite the new exterior won't hide its aging weak spots, the Chairman H New Classic offers an all-new interior that offers first class comfort. Despite the interior is heavily inspired from the Chairman W spin-off, my understanding that the Chairman H New Classic's interior is definitely a clone that combines the interior from the Dodge Journey/JC minor change and the Nissan Fuga (Infiniti M37/M56) Y51. Good thing it's better to be Korean than being a Chinese clone car with a clone interior.

2012 Ssangyong Chairman H

The Chairman H New Classic is powered with the XGi3200 in-line 6 DOHC 3.2L engine that releases 222ps/6,600rpm of power while the entry level XGi2800 in-line 6 DOHC 2.8L engine that is capable at releasing 200ps/6,600rpm of power output. The Chairman H New Classic is equipped with the E-tronic Benz 5-speed automatic transmission that can be set to Manual Mode for enhanced driving feel. It is mated with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for enhanced stability amidst different driving conditions.

The Ssangyong Chairman H New Classic is offered in three exterior colors such as Classic Black, Diamond Silver, and Grand White.

My comment:

The Ssangyong Chairman H might be an aged Korean premium sedan that mimics Benz but with the new minor change and a "New Classic" sub-name, the aging sedan from Ssangyong Motor Company is ready for its second childhood and for those who can't afford the luxurious Ssangyong Chairman W should consider the Chairman H New Classic for now. I think this may be not a good car for the Korean politicians and executives but I think this would make a good taxi for the Korean roads. Don't expect the Ssangyong Chairman H New Classic come face-to-face against the Hyundai Genesis sedan because it will hurt more than what you expected.

Looking back at the Best MOTORing finale

Best MOTORing June 2011 Volume

Well, we can't hardly forget that the Best MOTORing June 2011 DVD (on sale since April 2011) marks the end days of Best MOTORing. The finale featured the Lexus LFA supercar for the very first time, which makes it a eccentric timing to feature Lexus' ultimate supercar in the final volume of Best MOTORing. On the finale, dubbed as "Final Battle in Fuji Speedway", the Lexus LFA, the Nissan GT-R R35 Phase II, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, and the Ferrari F430 GT3 come clashing for a 3-lap finale at Fuji Speedway.

The winner is... the Nissan GT-R R35 Minor Change! Second place was the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and third goes to the first-time Lexus LFA. The Best MOTORing series will surely be missed! がんばろう、ベスモ!
