Ayala Group gears up Volkswagen's return to the PHL

2012 Volkswagen Beetle

There are so many rumors about who will take place on returning Volkswagen to the Philippines and it is confirmed that Volkswagen will return to the Philippines thanks to the Philippines' largest conglomerate, the Ayala Group.

For those who haven't know, the Ayala Group is one of the Philippines' largest conglomerates since San Miguel Corporation and the Lopez Group of Companies (now Lopez Holdings Corporation). The Ayala Group takes responsibilities on companies such as Ayala Land, Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Globe Telecom, Manila Water, Honda Cars Makati, Isuzu Auto Dealership, and Ayala Foundation.

No specific information was released but the brand is busy recruiting key individuals all over the Philippines and some say, they will be bringing VW models such as the Golf, Scirocco, Tiguan, Touareg, and the 21st Century Beetle.

MINI Coupe

When the MINI line-up consists of a 3-door original, a 2+1 door Clubman, a 4-seater MINI Cabrio, and a 5-door SUV called the MINI Countryman, it seems that a new member of the MINI family has arrived and yes, it's a two-door, two-seater sports car called the MINI Coupe.

2012 MINI Coupe

This model was inspired from the 2009 Mini Coupe Concept as seen from the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and why did MINI wanted to spawn a two-door sports car model was a complete mystery. As a sports car, the MINI Coupe ditches its hatchback look and gains some attractive side profile to make it more of a coupe rather than being a MINI. Compare this side view to some female swimmer who wears a Speedo and the results are inevitable. Because it is an FF car, the MINI Coupe finds a fist fight against the Scion tC.

2012 MINI Coupe interior

How should you ask about getting inside the MINI Coupe? It's quite simple really. This MINI Coupe allows seating for two adults and opening the back of the MINI Coupe is just like opening the back of the Scion tC and the Nissan Fairlady Z but with such luggage space, it is applicable for only three suitcases and a purse, whatever you want to put it on the back.

Now onto the performance side, well, the new MINI offers three kinds such as the Mini Cooper Coupe, the Mini Cooper S Coupe, and the Mini Cooper SD Coupe. The entry-level Mini Cooper Coupe is powered with the 1.6L Four-cylinder petrol engine with twin-scroll turbocharger, direct injection and fully variable valve management based on the BMW Group's VALVETRONIC technology. It gets about 90 kW/122 hp at 6,000 rpm of power, 160 Nm/118 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm of torque, 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 9 seconds, 204 km/h (127 mph) of top speed, 5.4 litres per 100 kilometres (52.3 mpg imp) of fuel consumption, and 127 g/km of CO2 emissions. the hardcore Mini Cooper S Coupe uses an improved version of the turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that produces 135 kW/184 hp at 5,500 rpm of power, 240 Nm/177 lb-ft at 1,600-5,000 rpm of torque, 0-100kmh in 6.9 seconds, 230 km/h (143 mph) of top speed, and 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres (48.7 mpg imp) of fuel consumption. The Mini Cooper SD Coupe uses the 2.0L Four-cylinder turbodiesel with aluminium crankcase, common-rail injection and variable turbine geometry, resulting to greater fuel economy of 4.3 litres per 100 kilometres (65.7 mpg imp) and the lowest CO2 emission of 114 g/km.

Most MINI Coupe variants are great on handling thanks to its weight and its tuned suspension and it gets better for the eco-car fans, the MINIMALISM environmental technology offers MINI's Micro Hybrid Technology such as Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start/Stop+, Shift Point Display+, Electric Power Steering, and ancillary components to make it more fuel efficient. It is mated with either a 6-speed manual or a flappy-paddle 6-speed semi-automatic transmission with Steptronic function. There is a Sport Button placed on the MINI Coupe and if you pressed that, it delivers a much sharper handling and cornering, which is essential to technical courses such as the Nurburgring and Fuji Speedway. Do you think it is highly essential to tackle tough mountain passes such as Iroha-zaka, Shomaru, Tsukuba, or Akagi? It maybe an FF car with a Sport Button but it takes practice to tenderize the technical turns.

There are a lot of other features on the MINI Coupe as well such as the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), ABS, EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), CBC (Cornering Brake Control), Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist. The DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and EDLC (Electronic Differential Lock Control) are considered optional but one MINI Coupe considers these features standard is the Mini John Cooper Works Coupe.

2012 MINI John Cooper Works Coupe

The Mini John Cooper Works Coupe is the hardcore addition to the Mini John Cooper Works range, the MINI family with powerful upgrades courtesy of BMW M Power. The new Mini John Cooper Works Coupe features a powerful version of the turbocharged 1.6L petrol engine, delivering 155 kW/211 hp at 6,000 rpm of power, 260 Nm/192 lb-ft at 2,000-5,100 rpm of torque, 0-100kmh in 6.4 seconds, 240 km/h (149 mph) of top speed, 7.1 litres per 100 kilometres (39.8 mpg imp) of fuel consumption, and 165 g/km of CO2 emissions.

Depending on the variant, the MINI Coupe is available in nine exterior colors such as Chili Red, Pepper White, British Racing Green, Eclipse Grey, Lightning Blue, Midnight Black, Spice Orange, White Silver, and Laguna Green (not applicable on the Mini John Cooper Works Coupe).

My Comment:
Outrageously funny, witty, wicked, and hard to resist its temptation that what you've expect from peeping on some schoolgirl readying with her Speedo one-piece swimsuit for swimming class, but sorry, we're not on the same league. This MINI Coupe's not in a same league with the BMW 3-Series Coupe, BMW 1-Series Coupe, Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe, and the Audi A5. It will compete only against FF sports cars such as the Scion tC and the Kia Forte Koup. The bigger the MINI Coupe gets, the smaller the rivals will get.

Welcome to the Book of Balls...

1) Pretend you have a disease

2) When greeted, use a long and confusing name

Forza 4 Live Action Featurette - Endangered Species

Forza Motorsport 4 is really coming to the XBOX 360 consoles this October 11 in USA. We're almost there to getting this "Last Bastion of Automotive Lust" and we've tried the demo. Okay, there was a live action featurette that was appeared on the Top Gear website to promote this latest sequel and this live action featurette is titled "Endangered Species".

Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear narrated the whole clip, saying that the age of car enthusiasm is fading away because of tighter traffic laws, congested traffic, environmental concerns, and others that take away our joys of car enthusiasm. Forza Motorsport 4 is every car enthusiast's last hope of automotive joys and its right inside our homes to keep the world of car enthusiasts alive and kicking.

Pretty cool about seeing the Aston Martin DB9 in action, in fact, this is our only hope we, car enthusiasts, want to achieve.

It's a Nissan Juke armed with GT-R engine!

2011 Nissan Juke-R Concept

Who would have think such a brilliant idea that a Nissan Juke was been souped up and armed with the engine that was come from the Nissan R35 GT-R? The team at Nissan Europe created the Nissan Juke-R, a concept car that has a VR38DETT locked and loaded on the Nissan Juke plus loads of extras to keep this souped up Juke a drool-worthy experience.

PRESS RELEASE:

NISSAN ANNOUNCES THE JUKE-R -- THE ULTIMATE COMPACT CROSSOVER

Juke-R to inject new excitement into the crossover market

* Juke and GT-R brought together to create the ultimate compact crossover
* One-off concept to test the public's reaction to a seriously sporty Juke
* Underlines the compact crossover's fun factor
* Fully road legal with GT-R drive train
* Developed for Nissan by RML with input from Nissan Technical Centre for Europe (NTC-E)
* Car currently in development; expected to complete first tests in November

Question: What do you get when you cross a Nissan Juke with a Nissan GT-R?

Answer: The fastest, most exciting and daring compact crossover in the world.

Not content with re-shaping the new car market by pioneering the crossover – a success reflected in the soaring sales of its Qashqai and Juke models – Nissan is now creating the Juke-R, the first ever super crossover.

Currently under development, the bold design of the Juke is clear to see. However, with the addition of flared wheel arches, revised front and rear bumpers plus a unique split rear wing, this is no standard crossover. It's a Juke that thinks it's a GT-R, and with good reason.

However, the car is not for production. It is a one-off, road legal concept car developed by Nissan and built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E).

Under the hood is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine adopted directly from Nissan's flagship supercar. Under the floor hides the GT-R's six-speed transaxle, with the front and rear ends joined by a modified GT-R 4WD driveline and prop shaft, while chunky 20-inch RAYS forged alloy rims fill each wheel arch.

The interior merges crossover and supercar with finesse, as the Juke's dashboard has been transformed to accommodate the gauges, dials and 7-inch customisable LCD display from the GT-R. The Juke's iconic center console, inspired by the fuel tank of a motorcycle, remains while the rest of the interior has the look of a machine bred for the track. Twin race-seats with five-point harnesses sit inside a visible roll cage that gives FIA safety standards as well as enhanced rigidity to provide the ultimate performance.

"Nissan Juke is one of the most exciting cars on the market today. Its bold crossover design has captured the imagination of car buyers all over Europe; after just a year on sale we are celebrating sales of more than 100,000 units," said Paul Willcox, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan in Europe.

"Juke lends itself perfectly to a sports derivative and Juke-R explores that territory. Equally at home on road and track, Juke-R showcases two of the most exciting cars in our range and highlights the technical innovation that drives Nissan. This car will more than live up to the dynamic driving experience we engineer into all our cars."

SA AKIN ANG KOREPINO!

We interrupt your laughter with some breaking news on ANG TV PATROL!

Buko Juice sales are strong on other countries! Because of strong sales, most Filipinos are going abroad to buy some Buko Juice!

As expected, I guess most Filipinos want to go to other countries for those!

The kiddie holdapper

And here's a gagged photo of a kiddie holdapper, which serves as an illustrative purpose on a report where three kids raided the jeepney while holding a gun.

For Windy Valdez's weather report: Pedring is out but there will be more rains because of Pedring's rear or in a case of "wee-wee".

Quote of the day: The bigger they are, the smaller I am.

...and yes, we got another one of Korepino words from Yours Truly, RYAN BANG! (and also some Korean girl sitting next to him)

The Korean word for According To/Ayon Kay is I-ta-ra but it sounds like Gitata/Guitar. Then, the Korean word for Between/Sa pagitan is Sa-I-Ye but it sounds like Saya/Happy!

Then, on SA AKIN ANG HULING HALAKHAK, the mystery man appeared to be Gabriel (Manuel Chua), the kasintahan of Dolores. Is there a conflict? Not sure but be patient...
