Forza 4 Head to Head: Enzo vs. MC12

Hello again. Time for another showdown and this time, I could be comparing some sort of fraternal twins from Italy.

Fraternal Twins

I'm talking about the Enzo and the MC12. Sure, they are the finest achievements two Italian carmakers can ever think of. Both of these are more fun on the track but the feeling of owning and driving them in reality can be somewhat frustrating but I don't care. First off, let's start with the MC12...

Maserati MC12:

The MC12 from Maserati was used to compete in the FIA GT Championship and this was based on the Enzo Ferrari. The road-going version of the MC12 was produced in 2004 with 30 cars produced (five of which were not for sale). A further 25 were produced in 2005 making a total of 50 cars available for customers, each of which were pre-sold for €600,000.

It uses the same 6.0L V12 engine from the Enzo but it produces a maximum torque of 652 newton metres (481 lbf·ft) at 5500 rpm and a maximum power of 630 PS (460 kW; 620 hp) at 7500 rpm, while being mated with the Maserati Cambiocorsa semi-automatic transmission which has the final drive ratio of 4.10:1 and provides a shift time of just 150 milliseconds.

Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the MC12 on Top Gear and he disliked it more like the BiTurbo that he crushed. "Is it a racer? Is it a GT car? Is it a de-tuned Enzo in a fat suit? You can't really tell." he said but when handed to The Stig, it set a lap time of 1:18.9, 0.1 seconds faster than the Enzo Ferrari.

The MC12 crossed the line in 1:17.787

Enzo Ferrari:

The Enzo Ferrari was the ultimate Ferrari ever built in 2002 in celebration of Ferrari's 55th anniversary and it is limited to 399 units.

Originally, it supposed to be called the F60, in line with other anniversary models such as the F40 and the F50, but it was announced that before its launch, this car has to be named after the founder of Ferrari, ENZO FERRARI.

Designed by a Japanese named Ken (Kiyoyuki Okuyama), the Enzo was heavily influenced by its Formula One-style nose, providing better aerodynamics. Little known fact that Michael Schumacher was contributed for this car.

Powering the Enzo was its 6.0L V12 engine that generates 651HP of power and 484.8lb-ft of torque, armed with a semi-auto transmission called the F1-matic. Top speed is 350kph.

Jeremy Clarkson borrowed Nick Mason's Enzo for a review on Top Gear and when handed to The Stig, it set a lap time of 1:19.0.  The Enzo was one of the cars contributed for the challenge when James May tries to recreate the Top Gear theme song using car engines.

The Enzo Ferrari did it in 1:17.981, a few seconds slower than the...MC12(?)

Enzo's Time

Strange that despite the MC12 is somewhat a de-tuned Enzo in a fat suit, how can it be more quicker than the Enzo in terms of lap times? Doesn't matter though because what I'm driving those were works of art. The MC12 is all about being as delicate as a piano concerto but it takes skill to master the handling because such brutal speed may cost you more. The Enzo though, that is truly a knife-edge combatant I truly love about. Although both of these cars have no luxury equipment, the freedom to drive those cars are highly immense. I wanna drive one of these more than hanging on my last breath.

Hyundai Veloster's facing “Exploding” Sunroof problems

Hyundai Veloster Turbo

The NHTSA Office of Defect Investigation looking into eleven complaints from Hyundai Veloster owners saying that the sunroof's been blown off.

I was driving, making a left hand turn from a stop light and then heard a very loud bang! The sunroof above me shattered and fell all over me, the car, and outside,” said a Veloster owner who wrote a complaint to the NHTSA.

If found defective, Hyundai may issue a recall to those Veloster models regarding the sunroof problems.

Forza Motorsport 4: 2003 Porsche Carrera GT

Germany's hypercar

When it was produced in 2003, the Porshce Carrera GT is the most powerful Porsche ever made. Firstly, it was powered by a 5.7 litre V10 engine that generates 612 PS of power and Porsche claims that this can reach 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). The only transmission available was a 6-speed manual transmission.

The crank is only 98.5mm from the floor of the car and the reason why the crank is so low is because of its lightweight clutch that has two plates made from carbon fiber and silicon carbide. It weighs less than four bags of sugar. Also benefiting from its lightweight structure was its brakes that were made of silicon carbide.

Despite being lighter, the Carrera GT isn't an easy car to drive because of its brutal clutch, savage power, and knife-edge handling but if you take time putting the effort to master the Carrera GT, this is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the Carrera GT on Top Gear and when handed to the Stig, the Carrera GT lapped the Top Gear track in 1:19.8, faster than the McLaren Mercedes SLR.

In Jeremy Clarkson's 2004 DVD, Hot Metal, both the Mercedes SLR McLaren and the Porsche Carrera GT were put into comparison and the SLR is faster than the Carrera GT on the straights and the short section of the Top Gear Test Track.

Production of the Carrera GT ended in 2007 with 1,270 produced.

The one-off LFA Spyder

Back in January 2012, at the D1GP Drift demonstration at the Tokyo Auto Salon, there was a mysterious LFA convertible out in the open. That really shocked the world how the heck a convertible version of the Lexus LFA showed up in the open.

A couple of months later, the mystery LFA convertible showed up again and this time at Suzuka Circuit's 50th anniversary celebration...

Toyota Motor Corporation told that this LFA Spyder is a one-off. There is only one of its kind. That's it. And to prove, here's a clip from Jay Leno's Garage with famed comedian Jay Leno flied to Japan to test the one-off LFA Spyder...

Let's Do The News! (October 5, 2012)

2013 Nissan Latio

Do it properly? Why?

Simple. Malaysia is a highly notorious country for modified cars because they love to turn everyday cars into lawbreaking criminals and get them wanted. This is somewhat MOST WANTED but Malaysian kind of way.

(audience laughing)

Anyway, let's do the news and big news this week because we just heard that the highly-criticized ANTI-CYBERCRIME LAW was now in effect despite protests from many.

So, what is this all about the Cybercrime Prevention Law?

On that law, signed by the President of the Philippines, this takes down piracy, file-sharing, cyber porn, or any other criminal-related activities done by the internet. Not only that, because of Senator Tito Sotto, this new law takes down libel in which any Facebook Like, Share or Twitter tweet may slam you on jail for about 12 years.

(huh?)

Wait, 12 years?

Yep. 12 years of imprisonment due to libel.

Yeah, perhaps I did the whole Doctor Who EMERGENCY PROGRAM ONE thing in case I got caught by the cops because of this.

(audience laughing)

EMERGENCY PROGRAM ONE? Sounds convincing because when you leave them a message, they might think that you've been either killed or busted by the cyber cops for Facebook or Twitter about libels. What about blogs?

Not safe. Even blogs can be affected to this whole anti-cyber libel stuff. Why? Why would they want to take away our freedom of speech? Is this the MARTIAL LAW of the 21st century?

Hey, better cool down because the heat's on us. Any fatal mistake and the coppers will get us locked down for 12 years.

(audience laughing)

Okay. Best to keep our cool down before the heat's up and became WANTED. NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED.

(audience laughing)

Anyway, you know the 21st Century Beetle, which is the modern take of the Beetle that no other game featured this latest version? Check out this convertible version...

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible

Same features as the normal model but now, the roof is softened so the wind blows through.

Not a bad car but it's not kinda good either.

Really?

Seriously. I've checked the 21st Century Beetle a few weeks ago and it seems that the glove compartment that got my hands tickled. Seems that I can't forget the moment when I first met it.

Ahem, it seems that the glove compartment's handle on the 21st Century Beetle really got the best of you, isn't it?

Inside the 21st Century Beetle

Yep. I really wish to have that one because of its glove compartment handle.

(audience laughing)

Hey, enough now. Anyone heard? It seems that most owners of the all new Toyota 86/Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ found out that they're complaining about engine stalls and rough idle...which is bad.

Huh?

86 & BRZ

But, most of these received good reviews by the press but what were the problems?

As told, owners are complaining about rough idle and stalling issues. Also, some say, that was caused by some software glitch. Software coding errors in the ECU-engine communication think that the engine is operating outside its “frozen” parameters and causes stalling or a rough idle as it tries, and apparently fails, to sort things out.

Whoa. That sounds a bit creepy...

Don't worry, they'll reprogram the ECU only if it's less than 100 miles or else, they'll have to replace it, which is costly.

Oh....

Aside from all these, there was an 86-dedicated forum received a hundred complaints about having their camshaft bearing, cam gears, actuators and cam position sensors changed. Seems that all the success do come with a price. Do you think it's time for a recall because of the problems faced by the Subaru BRZ, Toyota GT86, and Scion FR-S?

(audience laughing)

Caterham Superlight R600
2013 Caterham Superlight R600

Hey! What's this?

Oh, that's a Caterham Superlight R600.

The what?

CATERHAM R600!

Oh!

Caterham R600. The one comes with the supercharged 2-liter Ford Duratec engine that churns out 275 hp and 200 lb-ft of torque. For the first time, the R600 is mated with a six-speed sequential gearbox and a Titan limited-slip differential.

(oooohh)

Also, there's going to be a one-make race series next year. Anyone interested, contact the people of Caterham at motorsports@caterham.co.uk. Oh, and be sure to have the R600 because this is needed for this one-make race series next year. Understood?

Anyway, it seems that it's finally official that F1 legend, Michael Schumacher, announced his retirement at the end of the Formula One 2012 season.

(awww)

I know. It's said to see Schumi go and filling his role will be Lewis Hamilton because next year, Lewis is now the Mercedes F1 driver. Interesting and very clever.

I'm going to miss Schumacher but I'll remember him for being the guy who said that he was The Stig on the Series 13 opener of Top Gear. Anyone remember? Michael Schumacher is The Stig?

(yes!)

BIG YES indeed.

image
BIG YES!

And on that non-libelous bombshell, that's the news. Anyway, for those who want a souvenir from The Angels Take Manhattan, there is an e-book available and it's called THE ANGEL'S KISS by Melody Malone.

THE ANGEL'S KISS

Melody Malone? Or better be River Song/Melody Pond. This e-book was inspired from THE ANGELS TAKE MANHATTAN episode, the one where Amy and Rory were killed by the Weeping Angel. I know, it was very sad and we piled a lot of tissue boxes to prepare for this tragic moment.

(audience laughing)

What to expect here is simple...THE DYING DETECTIVE, THE ANGELS TAKE MANHATTAN, THE SKINNY GUY, JULIUS GRAYLE, CALLING THE DOCTOR, THE ROMAN IN THE CELLAR, DEATH AT WINTER QUAY, and AMELIA'S LAST FAREWELL. These were on THE ANGEL'S KISS e-book available on your tablet, Kindle, or iPad.

What interests me is the one from the end of THE ANGELS TAKE MANHATTAN. It's called AFTERWORD by AMELIA WILLIAMS and this is somewhat a farewell letter to The Doctor and also, a very sad way to read it. What it also reads was this...

...There's a little girl waiting in the garden...
