2011 Peugeot 508

Although the controversial Peugeot 407 and the aging Peugeot 607 met their demise, it seems that this new Peugeot premium-class, the 508, is much more similar to Toyota Mark X because the Mark X combined the Mark II, Cresta, and Chaser (don't forget the Verossa) into one premium sedan. The Toyota Mark X is too premium enough against the Peugeot 508. The real rivals of the Peugeot 508 are the Volkswagen Passat B7 and the Kia K5/Optima.

STYLING: The Peugeot 508 is essentially a production version of the "5 by Peugeot" concept car as seen on the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It comes in two available body styles; the 508 sedan for premium preference and the 508 SW for spacious premium. It is somewhat disappointing that Peugeot did not offered a coupe version of the 508 yet. Still, I still prefer the styling of the Kia K5 over the new Peugeot 508, but on the lighter side, it looks more attractive than the Volkswagen Passat B7.

INTERIOR: The Peugeot 508's interior design is somewhat more of a carbon copy of its French arch-rival, the Renault Latitude (known in South Korea as the third-generation Renault Samsung SM5). However, the Peugeot 508's interior is the best-looking interior in all of Peugeot's lineup because of its premium amenities offered such as colored HUD (Heads Up Display), four-zone air conditioning, hands-free access and start-up, JBL audio system, multi-function steering wheel, navigation system, and a whole lot of conveniences offered on the 508. 

PERFORMANCE: Being a full-fledged European eco-car, the 508 comes with the new 1.6L e-HDi FAP engine. This micro-hybrid system has a power output of 112PS, consumes for about 4.2 liters of diesel and it has the lowest CO2 emissions of 109-110 g/km. This is considered to be Peugeot's finest because of its micro-hybrid technology. The 1.6L e-HDi variant on the 508 comes with the new automated 6-speed manual transmission. Other engines available as of launch are the 1.6L HDi FAP engine with the power output of 112PS and comes with the 5-speed MT, and the 1.6L VTi petrol engine packed with 120PS of power output, 6-speed AT, and consumes 6.2 to 6.3 liters of premium gasoline. A turbocharged 1.6L engine and a 2.0L HDi engine may follow this 1st quarter of 2011. 

 

SAFETY: For peace of mind, the Peugeot 508 comes with the finest safety features such as the xenon headlamps, Electronic Stability Program, six airbags, ISOFIX, power steering, and Peugeot Connect SOS. 

My thoughts about the 508: 

Based on the design from the Peugeot 5 Concept, the Peugeot 508 defines premium to the next level and trust me. The 508's design is even more attractive than the Volkswagen Passat B7 but less attractive than the Kia K5/Optima. Other rivals of the Peugeot 508 include the Hyundai YF Sonata, Toyota Camry, Chrysler 200, Chevrolet Malibu, Nissan Teana, Honda Accord Inspire and Accord Euro, Renault Latitude, Citroen C5, and Subaru Legacy. With the new e-HDi engine equipped on the 508, this lion is grown to be more "clean and economical" on European roads. I miss you

Back in 4th quarter 2009, the Hayate no Gotoku 2nd Season Extra Figures made their debut as a prize figure from the famous UFO Catcher. Volume One was debuted in the end of 2009 and it features Nagi Sanzenin and Hinagiku Katsura. Volume Two debuted in 1st quarter 2010 with Maria and Hermione Ayasaki. I know, they had been there for a limited time and gone in 60 seconds. Right now, pictured here is the SEGA PRIZE Hayate no Gotoku 2nd Season Extra Figure Volume One - Hinagiku Katsura. H-I-N-A! Her pose looks attractive because Hinagiku Katsura is the most attractive of all the Hayate the Combat Butler girls due to her strong nature. Although I gonna say that she looks hot in that pose!

Gosh, I love her pose!

She even has a green armband on her uniform!

Despite I bought it on some Japan surplus store (either in person or online), it still looks like it was freshly picked! No wonder somebody's chasing the student body president's hot looks! To be fair, I don't do wolf whistles on these figures because this degrades them. That is my 100のヴィ学 about this figure. Please don't tell me what 100のヴィ学 (hyaku no vi gaku) means.

Chrysler 200

2011 Chrysler 200

The name "200" from Chrysler comes from the Chrysler 200C concept car that was once cancelled by Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne because it was unfit for the company. Although Fiat cancels the production of the 200C hybrid, the name "200" lives on as the new Chrysler 200, a new medium sedan that replaces the awkward-looking Chrysler Sebring.

In contrast of being Chrysler's new model, the 200 is just a revision of the Sebring, henceforth that this is the Sebring's minor change model. The Chrysler 200 is the first to wear the new Chrysler logo and the new trademark grille that provides a sense of style. The side view of the 200 remains its Sebring look, meaning to say that this is a minor change, the 200 is actually a new model in general. In the rear view, the Chrysler 200 looks more like a Buick Regal, so in chemistry; the Chrysler 200 is like a mixture of the Kia K7/Cadenza, the outdated Sebring, and the Opel Insignia/Buick Regal. Wasn't that obvious to see how the Chrysler 200 looks like? On the interior, this is somewhat more of an updated version of the Chrysler Sebring, keeping this medium sedan updated to be more premium than being a blah-only medium sedan.

The only engine available for the Chrysler 200 as of press time is the 2.4-Liter I4 DOHC 16-Valve Dual VVT Engine that produces a power output of 175 PS. Depending on the variant, the 2.4L variant comes with either a 4-speed AT or a 6-speed AT. A 4-speed AT can be enough but for those looking for more fun-to-drive, a 6-speed AT is necessary. The new Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine that produces 287 PS may soon follow.

My thoughts about the 200:
Despite being branded as the minor change model of the Sebring, the new Chrysler 200 is the debutante in the new Chrysler brand, following with the new 300, the Town and Country/Grand Voyager minor change, It will also come to Europe under the Lancia badge. I strongly believe that the new Chrysler 200 will regain Chrysler's strength and most people would go for it. Word from it that there will be a 200 Convertible coming soon and serve as the replacement for the Sebring Convertible. The Chrysler 200 choses the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord Inspire and Accord Euro, Subaru Legacy B4, Volkswagen Passat, Kia K5/Optima, and the Hyundai YF Sonata as the main opponents.

Final Fight in Noah

I wish I have to swap vocal cords with Patrick Stewart (the actor in the X-Men movies and the voice of Zobek from Castlevania Lords of Shadow) just so I can tell you how will the final episode in ABS-CBN's fantasy drama, Noah, feels like:

And now the final battle is come. Ruth (Jodi Sta. Maria) is waiting for you, my friend. She knows what you have done. She knows everything. Ruth has hoped all this time that you would save the world and here you are on the brink of it. You stand upon a knife edge. She has kept faith in you despite everything, now you must fulfill your destiny and the truth will out. I will help you, old friend. I will be with you in this your moment of victory.

Anyway, this is how the Final Fight in Noah feels like:

As the world is now in chaos because of Judah (Joem Bascon), our heroes Gabriel (Piolo Pascual), Levi (Jolo Revilla), Jacob (Zaijan Aranilla), Nica (Xyriel Manabay), and the Ungtas are trying to save the world from Judah's chaos. As we remember from the Goddess of Earth, Gabriel's mission is to defeat Judah and save the world.

When Judah and his goons, with Ruth and Joshua, approaches to the escape plane, Gabriel approaches and the Final Fight has begun. As tensions rise, Jacob unexpectedly appeared and hit Judah with his slingshot and crossfires happened and the monster is killed. Gabriel tries to approach to his son but Judah killed Gabriel but luckily, Levi killed Judah. With the Elder Zatok retrieved the keys to the Last Paradise, Gabriel's family, along with the dying Gabriel approaches to the island of Noah. As they approached to the doors of the Last Paradise, the Ungtas finally closed the doors of the Last Paradise, saving the world.

Gabriel talked to the Goddess of Earth, Gaia, and the Goddess allowed Gabriel to reunite with his family. With that, Gabriel was miraculously alive, spreading joy to his family and the Ungtas.

After the world is saved, Gabriel and Ruth finally remarried and their lives are back to normal. This concludes the story of Noah and yes, we are going to miss the Ungtas.

All right! Kuya Jobert's Damoobs is at it again on the February 4 episode of Banana Split Daily Servings! When a man (Badji Mortiz) approaches to Kuya Jobert and asks him that he can't tie a necktie. Kuya Jobert shows him how to tie a necktie. It's true that he can't tie a necktie if he didn't own one. He gave him his own "one-step" necktie! LOL

There's no way Kuya Jobert can't be that funny! :-)

Loveplus meets HALLS

You may remember Nene Anegasaki, one of the three Loveplus gals and also the gal who made the headline where a Loveplus player, Sal9000, married this character.

She's part of the Loveplus-HALLS collaboration, promoting the new flavor of HALLS exclusively in Japan, the HALLS Pink Grapefruit flavor.

On that video, the development team talked to Nene what will their next HALLS flavor feels like. Nene said that this new HALLS flavor needs to be sweet and delicious. When they give her something, she tasted it and it was like wow!

In the eyes of a Konami fans, this is the HALLS flavor in Japan that made it "Nene Anegasaki's Personal Preference" for sure.

Never knew this made it a headline when this Japan-only new HALLS flavor was made to be Nene Anegasaki's personal preference, even if Nene has a liking over lozenges. Everyone loves lozenges because they are like candies to them.

This new, Japan-only, Halls flavor is already on sale since the end of January 2011. Those people in Japan looking for this flavor should find on their nearest groceries and convenient stores.

I heard that Nene Anegasaki may be featured on the wrapper this summer 2011.

Camaro TV Commercials...

In time before Super Bowl XLV, General Motors' Chevrolet brand unveiled two commercials; one is that you can't mess with an Autobot Bumblebee, and the second that what if a female driver is in the Camaro.

See what I mean?

The ad from the top resembles more like a dealer ad, when a mascot smack the Camaro with a fake hammer, the Camaro turned into a Bumblebee (as we know it) and caused trouble. Never mess with Bumblebee, I mean, a Chevy!

The second has some commentary, it imagines what will the Camaro commercial will look like; driving on the desert, a woman drives a Camaro, on the city streets, evading the hays, car chases, and ended parking on the school. Now that's imagination!
