2011 - Let's celebrate the World Champ

Let's Celebrate the World Champion!

The Japanese GP held at Suzuka Circuit became historical. For a man like Sebastian Vettel, he needs one last point to defend his title but he successfully got 15 points (when he landed 3rd place). With the score of 324 points, Sebastian Vettel was once again defending his title as F1 Champion. Japanese GP winner, Jenson Button from McLaren-Mercedes now has 210 points.

And for something special because S. Vettel defended his crown as the "World Champion", Gran Turismo 5 has a double treat for the players for a limited time. Beginning now up until October 16, 2011 23:59 Japan Standard Time, players can take part of the Sebastian Vettel F1 2011 World Champion Celebration Event, where they can race against the clock with the Gran Turismo Red Bull X2010 S. Vettel at Suzuka Circuit, the venue where S. Vettel was reigned as F1 2011 World Champ. Go for Gold and you'll get all the cash prizes totaling to Cr.5,000,000!

The Gran Turismo Red Bull X2010 S. Vettel can now be yours once you start up the game and logged in to your PSN account. If you don't have the X2010 S. Vettel, then this is good news for you but for those who already have one, keep it as a souvenir. This bonus is valid until October 16 and you can receive this prize only once.

R U KIDDING ME? VXR8 GTS wins MPG Marathon! Owws? Hindi Nga?!

2011 Vauxhall VXR8 GTS

You might think that hybrids and diesels always win the Fleet World MPG Marathon, but chances are that you are wrong. On the Fleet World MPG Marathon, the Vauxhall VXR8 GTS emerged as the champion on this kind of fuel consumption battle.

R U KIDDING ME? Owws? Hindi Nga?!

The Vauxhall VXR8 GTS, British version of the HSV GTS, emerged victorious on the two-day, 350 mile fuel consumption battle but how? This Vauxhall VXR8 GTS was driven by Top Gear online editor, Chris Mooney, along with Vauxhall archivist and eco-driving expert, Andrew Duerden.

The VXR8 GTS's fuel consumption is 7.4km/L (21.0 MPG UK) but Mooney managed to improve it even further by 53%, resulting to 11.4km/L (32.14 MPG UK)!

Looks like there is a lesson learned that fuel economy is not relied on the car itself but for the driver himself that makes the difference, whichever comes first...

Only in the Philippines - When DPWH men takes on the world

DPWHERE?

On the lighter side, there was a group of Photoshopped photos that has three DPWH officials on it, which was sourced from a photo where they were investigating the damage on Roxas Blvd because of the typhoon.

So far, the photoshopped photos containing three DPWH officials became a hit on forums, Facebook, blogs, and others! It doesn't matter where are these three DPWH are; good, bad, ugly, historical, beautiful, wacky, hilarious, pulse-pounding, doesn't matter where are these three went.

Like for instance, those three DPWH officials became part of Philippine history, World Wars, sports, Hollywood movies, Philippine TV dramas, video games, anime, famous paintings, cover albums, music videos, and others. These photoshopped photos under the banner "DPWHERE" became a viral sensation! You wouldn't believe how good these three meets up with "pop culture".

Check out the gallery of the adventures of DPWH members:

The all-new, fifth-generation, Ford Explorer has finally arrived in the Philippines and yes, we're the 2nd Asian country, to get this model aside from Japan.

So what's new on the all new 2011 Explorer? A lot. This new model is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 290HP of power and it comes with a six-speed SelectShift Automatic Transmission. On the inside, it has an LCD touchscreen loaded with MyFord Touch, a first in the Philippines, and Ford Sync.

The new Explorer has Terrain Management System that allows the driver to switch through multiple modes depending on which terrain this car is.

GOOD SMILE COMPANY x KAMUI KOBAYASHI COLLABORATION

Just before the F1 Japan Grand Prix kicks off this Sunday at the Suzuka Circuit, Kamui Kobayashi (小林可夢偉), a Japanese F1 driver who represents Sauber-Ferrari, and famous for its tagline "The King of Overtaking" chose Good Smile Company to become his official partner and yes, Kamui Kobayashi spawned his very own Nendoroid and figma of his own!

Kamui Kobayashi Nendoroid

Kamui Kobayashi figma

Made possible by Good Smile Company, the Kamui Kobayashi Nendoroid (available this February) and the Kamui Kobayashi figma (available this March) are the biggest treats for those who are a big fan of this Japanese F1 driver who is skilled at overtaking.

Might be a little late for that but I'm sure car enthusiasts are readying their bank checks to pre-order such a cool treat.

I'm sure everyone will start complaining that how did a Japanese F1 driver spawned a Nendo and figma of his own. Coincidence? Nah, that's for supporting Kamui Kobayashi himself.
