Toyota Prius S Touring Selection G's

2012 Toyota Prius S Touring Selection G's

The much awaited Toyota Prius G's has arrived and this is the latest Toyota ever to be modified by Gazoo Racing since the Noah, Voxy, and the Vitz RS. The new Prius S Touring Selection G's (G Sports) features an aggressive exterior design that changes the way this hybrid behaves forever. Now, that's how they call it "mean grean". As for the interior, it's all nested in black color with some red stitching on the seats and the steering wheel. Once more, the paneling is a resemblance of carbon fiber, making this Prius G's the darker side of the world's first mass-produced hybrid car.

Like most G's models, no engine tweaks occurred. As for the Prius G's, nothing's changed on the 1.8L 2ZR-FXE engine and 60kW 3JM electric motor that produces 136PS of power and 207Nm of torque. For this model, it comes with tuned suspension for precise handling that is really tuned and engineered for Fuji Speedway conditions.

Available in six colors; Super White II, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Black, Red Mica Metallic, and Bordeaux Mica Metallic.

My comment:
The new Prius G's really is the darker side of Prius because of its aerodynamics, dark interior, and tuned suspension that makes it a well precised hybrid car that is great when you're cruising around Hakone, Hiroshima, Haruna, Akagi, Ura Rokko, Myogi, Usui, Omote Rokko, Shiga Kusatsu, Nikko, Zao, or Aso. Sales for the Prius G's in Japan starts this December 26, 2011!

Toyota Prius (ZVW30) Facelift

2012 Toyota Prius

When the third-generation Toyota Prius was launched in May 2009, this third-generation model is remarkably an evolution of the world's first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. Now, after being on service for two years, the third-generation Prius deserved a mid-life facelift to keep it updated for the road ahead. Well, it's a start.

The facelifted Prius is now gaining a new exterior design. Expect a new front bumper, front grille, under grille, rear combination lamp, 15-inch rims, and a new rear view that makes this third-generation different from the previous model.

2012 Toyota Prius interior

Inside, the shift knob and the steering switch base is now paneled in silver and there are new seat colors available, especially two-tones such as "Blue & Black" and "Brown and Black". Once more, the instrumental panel's now change to something more vivid and colorful for added accessibility but still, this is the same Prius interior from before.

No changes on the 2ZR-FXE engine that produces 99PS of power and 142Nm of torque. The power output can be increased into 136PS if the 60kW 3JM electric motor is active. It still uses the Nickel Metal Hydride Battery for EV Mode purposes only. As for the fuel economy, nothing's changed and still remains the 32.6km/L JC08 fuel economy at the entry level 1.8 L variant while most models remain the 30.4km/L JC08 fuel economy.

Pre-Crash Safety System is available for the new Prius as this system provides safe braking in an event when this car approaches the car's behind. There is also Radar Cruise Control that maintains speed while cruising on the highway, Steering-assisted Vehicle Stability Control, Antilock Brake System, Traction Control, Hill Start Control, and the new Pedestrian Warning system that emits noise on incoming passengers, especially the approaching blind.

Available in eight colors;Super White II, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Black, Red Mica Metallic, Bordeaux Mica Metallic, Frosty Green Mica, and Light Purple Mica Metallic.

My comment:
The third-generation Prius' minor change has the same Prius experience with the new look, just to keep this new model updated after the third-generation was released since May 2009. As of now, there are so many Prius models roaming around the streets of Japan and this new model will drive sales even further but how can it keep up because it was heavily affected by the March 11 disaster and the Thai flooding?

Sales for the facelifted Prius starts this December 19, 2011 at all Toyota dealers across Japan.

Prius goes Forza

ECO DRIVE FOR JAPAN

Yes, it's been around worldwide for 14 years and 10 of those years in some countries like the United States and United Kingdom, it's a complete joke. Now then, we'll see if we can find out that the third-generation Prius has the earnings of being a newcomer on Forza Motorsport 4. In the eyes of owners, the third-genration Prius is light, it's much more kinder to the environment because of its fuel economy of 38.0kmL 10-15 / 32.6kmL JC08, and it tapers down a point with its triangular silhouette. So we're heading to the right direction. But we're not going to strap this with turbocharger and wave this car goodbye, this addition on Forza Motorsport 4 provides them the Toyota Prius Projects - Forza 4 style.

The Prius cruises at the Alps

Now, wherever I drive the Prius on Forza 4, I must have feel like I am a nerd working at some software company while putting all my paperwork next to me. It looks rubbish, the ride is rubbish, there was nothing exciting about it, and it was awful to bring it on online races. In a game of Cat & Mouse and if this car's the Mouse, this is hopeless because you could get bullied by rival cats.

The Stig tries out the Tommykaira Prius RR

Luckily, you can customize the Prius by the way it looks and the way it behaves. The most favorite customization is when the Prius is equipped with body kits courtesy of Tommykaira. Tommykaira Prius RR? Wow, that was a mean green hybrid car and this looks great to stand out the crowd but still you could get bullied by many no matter what car class you're on, from D350 class to A600 class.

A true hybrid car you can afford at...
Suggestion though, you could just use it on the playground but only in the game of Top Gear Soccer because this is not an ideal car to use it on the game of Tag Virus or Keep The It because of its response. The Prius may not be a good car for racing but this car is all about being wise and being a nerd. This is a response because in today's world, practicality trumps adrenaline and the ratio of Miles Per Gallon is championed over Horsepower Per Ton. If you're planning to create a Top Gear Power Lap Time with the Prius, feel free but for the background noise for the Power Lap Time you're making for Youtube purposes, find some boring tunes. Podcasts can be good and see how boring the Prius was when you, The Stig, drives it.

Auto Salon AMLUX Tokyo, the biggest shopping mall for all things Toyota, had showcased two IDOLM@STER itasha versions of the Toyota Prius α (Alpha) MPV and the third-generation Toyota Vitz/Yaris hatchback from October 22 to November 30, 2011.

For the IDOLM@STER itasha Prius Alpha, all the 765PRO girls are featured, but on the IDOLMASTER itasha Vitz, it only feautred Makoto Kikuchi, which is nice. These IDOLM@STER itasha versions of both the Prius Alpha and the Vitz really has hopes to reach the demographics between otakus and car enthusiasts alike.

Because the launch date of the Playstation3 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2 draws near, this title will stop at nothing to capture the biggest slice of it. We like these itashas...

トヨタプリウス(ZVW30)のマイナーチェンジ?

2012 Toyota Prius

A facelifted third-generation Toyota Prius made a surprise appearance at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt, Germany and upon looking at the front view, it looks like that the 2012 Toyota Prius has a front bumper derived from its big brother, the Prius Alpha MPV. Not only that, there's a new rear lamp designed applied and wow, this one pleases me.

I believe that the facelifted 2012 Toyota Prius will come to Japan this 4th quarter (November 2011, perhaps?) thanks to this leaked information courtesy of Carstadium.net.

Question is, will the Prius G's (G Sports) arrive also with the Prius facelift? Not sure but be patient.

Prius α vs. Fit Shuttle Hybrid

2012 Toyota Prius Alpha

2012 Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid

Well, it all goes to this. The Toyota Prius α (Alpha) was launched since May 13, 2011 and the Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid was launched since June 16, 2011. Both of them are hybrid MPV (multipurpose passenger vehicle) but which of these hybrid MPVs are fresh to be "my pick" and how are these two differ? Let's find out....

CASE ONE:
Toyota's Prius α (Alpha) is the MPV spin-off to the third-generation Prius hybrid car. As a hybrid car, the Prius α provides the fuel economy of 31.0km/L in 10-15 Mode and 26.2 in JC08 Mode. Once more, the 2ZR-FXE engine provides a power output of 99PS in standard and it can be boosted up to 136PS if the 60kW 3JM electric motor is active. On the styling cues, the Prius α matches the same Prius DNA because of its triangular silhouette and the interior design is somewhat a technological breakthrough. The new One-dial Air Conditional Control takes control of the Prius α's room temperature. The Prius α comes in either a 5-seater or 7-seater. The Prius α 5-seater is packed with the nickel metal hydride battery while the 7-seater is packed with the new Lithium Ion (Li-ion battery). What surprises me on the 7-seater variant of the Prius α is the panoramic roof called Skylight Roof, available exclusively on the Li-ion battery-powered Prius α 7-seater. Because of the trouble caused by the March 11 disaster and the curious case of "parts shortages", delivery time for the Prius α takes about one year, so you might need to wait a longer more time to get your own Prius α.

CASE TWO:
The Honda Fit Shuttle was the replacement of the axed Honda Airwave MPV and this is the MPV spin-off to the second-generation Honda Fit. I'm talking more about the Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid MPV because we're dealing with the rivalry between the Toyota Prius α (Alpha) and the Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid. Unlike the Toyota Prius α soon to be exported worldwide as the Prius V (5-seater) and Prius Plus (7-seater), the Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid is not intended for export purposes and it's available only in Japan. Unlike the Prius α's one year delivery, the Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid's delivery time takes about two months, that's 10 months short so there's a chance for buyers to get their own Fit Shuttle since orders reached to about 7000 customers. On the stats, the Fit Shuttle Hybrid gets a fuel economy of 30km/L, which is 1 km/L short than the Toyota Prius α. The Fit Shuttle Hybrid is available only in 5-seater and it comes with the nickel metal hydride battery. No 7-seater, no Li-ion battery just how the Toyota Prius α had. Besides, the styling on the Fit Shuttle Hybrid is just too bulgy and obese.

In my verdict, I prefer the Prius α rather than the bulging Fit Shuttle Hybrid because it is economical, stylish, and comfortable, but I have to wait until next year to get it. In the meantime, I have to make do with the bulging and obese Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid. What do you think?

Prius α (Alpha) throws in some spectacular light show

While we salivated over the MPV version of the Toyota Prius, the Prius α (Alpha), launched since May 13 but delivery takes place in Spring 2012, we can't help until we wait for a year. However, Toyota throws in some kind of spectacular light show for the Japanese TV advert of the Prius α (Alpha), known in the North America as Prius V (for 5-seater α) and in Europe as Prius+ "Plus" (for 7-seater α).

Spectacular to see a spectacular light show with the Prius α but for us, we'll have to wait a little further until next year for the Prius α to come at our doorsteps while Toyota is recovering from the effects caused from the "March 11 sinking of Tohoku" and we're mourning our poor predicament. Speaking of which, we'll have to wait a little longer when will the Prius Alpha hits the Philippines soon.

The Prius Alpha is here but...NEW PROBLEMA...

2012 Toyota Prius Alpha

So, Toyota finally released the Prius Alpha, the wagon/minivan variant of the Prius since May 13, 2011, but however...

NEW PROBLEMA

Expect delays of delivery of Prius Alpha models due to the ongoing effects of the "March 11 sinking of Tohoku" and it may take up to Spring 2012 for delivers, bad news for those who placed pre-orders.

Scoop:

What a "swerteng malas" situation and that's a NEW PROBLEMA to you!

Toyota Prius α "Alpha" (ZVW40W/ZVW41W)

The third-generation Toyota Prius, launched since May 2009, became a sensational hit because of its top-tier fuel economy of 38.0km/L (10-15 mode, 32.6km/L on JC08 mode), making it the ultimate hybrid car for the masses. Now, the Prius family gets a lot bigger and with the addition of the first hybrid MPV, the Prius α "Alpha" (known in the North American market soon as the Prius V and in Europe as the Prius + "Plus"), Toyota created the plural form of Prius, which is officiallyPrii. If you're disagree with this plural form of Prius, well you're fired, kuha mo?

2012 Toyota Prius α

2012 Toyota Prius α

The Prius Alpha is Toyota's first hybrid MPV that uses the platform based on the third-generation Prius. With the concept of "Hybrid×Space" the Prius Alpha provides the same ecology power from the third-generation Prius now with the extended wheelbase and space that suits your lifestyle. This will go head-to-head with the upcoming Honda Fit Shuttle Hybrid, coming soon this June. Normally the Toyota Prius Alpha is set to launch since late April 2011 but due to the sourcing problems because of the March 11 sinking of Tohoku, Toyota pushed the launch schedule straight to this date; May 13, 2011, the date that the Prius Alpha is set for its Japan debut! This is similar to the Honda Fit Shuttle that it was originally set for March 18 launched but delayed through the June 2011 release date with that same reason.

2012 Toyota Prius α

The Toyota Prius Alpha is the most ambitious creation from Toyota Motor Corporation, using the same 2ZR-FXE hybrid engine from the third-generation Prius, providing a standardized 99PS/5,200 rpm of power output and 142Nm/4,000rpm of torque output. However, the additional 3JM electric motor that produces 60kW of power output makes the Prius Alpha's 2ZR-FXE engine a direct response, accumulating up to 136PS of power output when you need it. The standard Continuously Variable Transmission is equipped for optimized fuel economy. As for the fuel economy, the Prius Alpha accumulates 26.2km/L on JC08 mode and 31.0km/L on 10-15 mode, With gas prices rising uncontrollably, it's good to know that the Prius Alpha is your only people carrier needed. Once more, you can set it to EV mode that allows the Prius Alpha's battery, sourced from Sanyo, to work and with the regenerative braking system, charging the Alpha's battery takes a single brake away.

2012 Toyota Prius α interior

The Toyota Prius Alpha has a choice of either a 5-seater or a 7-seater variants. As a multipurpose passenger vehicle, the Prius Alpha is bound to have seating arrangements. Pick your arrangements carefully depending on which situation you're on. There is a special grade applicable for the Prius Alpha 7-seater variant that features a panoramic roof (called Skylite Roof), giving them a perfect view to the blue skies and the blue moon. This makes it an adventurous hybrid MPV fit for the next Japanese summer vacation!

The Prius Alpha 5-seater and 7-seater comes with 8 exterior colors such as Super White II, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Black, Red Mica Metallic, Clear Stream Metallic, and Dark Blue Mica.

My comment:
The Prius family gets a lot bigger and starting from the addition of Prius Alpha MPV, the official plural word for Prius is Prii. Get it? PRII! If I hear you guys saying Priuses, not Prii, well you're fired, kuha mo?

Anyway, the Prius Alpha is finally here at Japan after its major major problem caused by the March 11 sinking of Tohoku, the Fukushima crisis, and parts shortage. With recovery takes place, Toyota's getting bullish about the Prius Alpha since gas prices keep going up uncontrollably just like radiation from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Well, the "new problema" is, with Best Motoring gone for good, we may never see the Prius Alpha test drive at Tsukuba Circuit. If you want to test drive the Prius Alpha at Tsukuba Circuit, it's up to you.

The Prius Alpha will soon come in North America as the Prius V and in Europe as the Prius + "Plus", Asian arrival, especially the Philippines remains uncertain and I hope I'll have one as a grey market at Subic since this is an MPV.

Launch date of the new Prius wagon variant also hits a snag

After the delay of the Honda Fit Shuttle due to the Great Tohoku Earthquake, Toyota Motor Corporation also delayed the late April launch of the new wagon variant of the Prius (name still unknown yet) in Japan as well because of the manufacturing plant problems!

Scoop:

I don't believe this, first the Fit Shuttle, and now the unnamed Prius variant (in a form of a wagon or minivan, or whatever the heck is). The Great Tohoku Earthquake may have plunged the debutantes but I hope when the situation is back to normal (especially the Fukushima Daiichi plant dilemma), I hope these two will debut in Japan someday....

Toyota Prius Mk. III (ZVW30)

In the automotive business, there are angels and demons. The angels mentioned is the fuel saving machines and hybrid cars while the demons were the gas-guzzlers (for example, heavy SUVs, and those that emit black smoke). From Toyota, the number one automobile manufacturer in the world, comes the new look of the world's legendary mass-produced hybrid car that became the worldwide phenomena for everyone. A hybrid car claims all reviewers' praise and the numerous customers who are environmentally conscious. A hybrid car that has finally claimed the new title: "Super Hybrid Car,” welcome the all-new, fuel efficient, third generation Toyota Prius!

The long wait is over. The world's first mass produced hybrid car that started the hybrid craze is now on its peak of becoming the legendary hybrid car of today. Just how "super like Superman" is the new Toyota Prius? For starters, the exterior of the all-new Prius is somewhat of a face-lift but the look is quite new to the public thanks to its Air Management aerodynamic design that brings hybrid fanatics a new reason to start another hybrid revolution. Now that the details of the Prius’ exterior told, brace yourselves for the mind that matters all hybrid cars!

The improved 1.8L 136PS hybrid engine powered with Toyota's remarkable Hybrid Synergy Drive is the brains that powered the whole hybrid machine. For the biggest amazement to all hybrid crusaders, the Prius' fuel economy has reached a record-breaking fuel economy of over 38.0km/L! No other hybrid cars can achieve this kind of fuel economy because of the hybrid system that makes the Toyota Prius a formidable hybrid car for the masses!

No super hybrid car can be super without the superb interior of the new Prius. Just take a roam all over the interior and you will observe some futuristic looks and that is not all, to find out how the Prius is doing, the Eco-Drive Monitor got this super hybrid car covered. The Eco-Drive Monitor displays the Hybrid System indicator, one-minute to five-minute fuel efficiency rates, fuel efficiency history (similar to the Honda Insight), and real time energy consumption. For sound quality, this hybrid machine is equipped with the Prius Super Live Sound System (identical to the Toyota Premium Sound system from the new Crown Majesta) to bring the best sound like no other.

HOW SUPER WAS IT?
As I watched the sneak preview of the new Prius in Japan, this hybrid car truly expresses the title "Super Hybrid Car”. It is not that whole Superman part; it was the outstanding fuel economy. Now, the whole world will experience the superb fuel economy at a very modest price compared to the Honda Insight. People get ready to hum the "Main Title March" because Toyota's legendary hybrid machine has finally gained its new form.

ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
