Shelby GT500 Cobra Wide Body - a tribute to Carroll Shelby
Breaking news! On the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance, Ford revealed what it's said to be a tribute to the late tuning and racing legend Carroll Shelby. The Carroll Shelby Tribute car from Ford - Shelby GT500 Cobra Wide Body was unveiled and here are the pics courtesy of the official Carroll Shelby Facebook fan page...
Ford said that this is a one-off special and it is currently on display at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion this weekend, and Shelby says that they plan to tour the car around the country for the next several months before it will be auctioned off for charity.

Yes. Timey-wimey, it's a Whovian word but actually I really hate the Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car when I heard that this was on Forza 4. I mean, what's going on? Turn 10 tries rob some cars that are highly sacred to the Gran Turismo franchise. We now have the 787B, RUF CTR2, Scion FR-S, and this one. I mean, what's next? Stealing other Gran Turismo-famed cars such as the Xsara, Hommell, Nissan R92CP, Ford Mark IV, XJ13, XJR9, Chaparral Cars, Pescarolo, Tommykaira ZZ, the old RUF RGT, 3400S, Honda Insight, the Audi R8 (take note, the Le Mans Prototype one), classic Isuzu cars, classic Mitsubishis, rally raid cars, Panoz Esperante GTR1, the Toyota 7 Race Car, GT-R LM Road Going Car, Minolta Toyota, Lister Storm, and even forgotten ones like the Venturi Atlantique or the Vector M12?

Sure, Forza Motorsport has less cars than Gran Turismo but their cars are better than theirs because they've only focused on the best models rather than cars with several trim levels. Compare that to those costumes we saw on THE IDOLM@STER 2. We thought that they're going to be the same but they're different. The XBOX 360 version of THE IDOLM@STER 2 has better costume and accessories lineup than the ones we saw on the PS3 version, I mean costumes like the Stratos Butterfly, Burning Performer, White School Swimsuit, Cutie Insect, Rainy Suzuran, Dressy Alice, Random Color Beauty, and Digital Spacecraft, these are the DLC costumes that you can't find it on the XBOX 360 version. Guess what? These are the costumes only fit for idiots living the life outside the TARDIS.

Now, for justice served, Robert Blair Carabuena was suspended from his work and his driver's license has been revoked. But the investigation is pending so it should be taking a while.

That's right. And oh, this is a motor show, can I have just one simple suggestion, one simple suggestion for the good of a certain motor show visitor. NO GIRLS please. Please don't take pictures of girls posing next to the car. Take pictures only of cars and your friends or family as necessary. That's right. Don't take pictures of girls posing next to cars. Too bad for those who missed the chance but hey, I'd never realize that American nerds really loved this British sci-fi series. No wonder this show doing so well.

This is another one of Gran Turismo cars robbed by Forza for DLC purposes. In February 2012, the Mazda 787B, a car that is highly sacred in the Gran Turismo series, was stolen by Forza Motorsport 4 so it can be placed in the ALMS Pack. July 2012, sees another Gran Turismo car robbed by Turn 10, which is the RUF CTR2 via the July Car Pack. And now, August Playseat Car Pack sees Turn 10 stealing another Gran Turismo cars such as the Scion FR-S, which translates to Toyota GT86 for Americans, and this! The Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car! I know, most of our Japanese players complaining that what the heck the Sauber Mercedes C9 is doing on Forza 4. Is it because they want to see the interior of the Sauber C9 that Gran Turismo can't? Is it because Forza's Sauber C9 sounds better than the GT's Sauber C9? Or is it because some idiots demanded that this car should be on this game? Nobody knows but...SPOILERS!
Anyway, what is it then, this Sauber C9? The latest victim of notable Gran Turismo cars robbed by Turn 10 for DLC purposes?
As part of the Sauber-Mercedes partnership, this Group C prototype was introduced in 1987 and since its debut, the cars were run by Kouros Racing, named after the fragrance brand of its sponsor, Yves Saint Laurent, although officially backed by Mercedes-Benz. A year later, Kouros was dropped as a sponsor, forcing the team to be renamed Sauber Mercedes, and therefore, they've used EG-Olympia as a sponsor – AEG being owned by Daimler-Benz at the time. They tried to get second in the championship behind Silk Cut Jaguar with five wins for the season but the team stroke several problems when they were forced to withdraw due to concern over their Michelin tires.
Its first success can be traced back to the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the #63 C9 driven by Jochen Mass, Manual Reuter, and Stanley Dickens, achieved a win. During qualifying for Le Mans, the C9, with its Mercedes-Benz M119 4,973 cc (303.5 cu in) HL 90º 5.0L Turbo V8 engine with two KKK turbos, achieved 248.0 mph (400 km/h) at the Mulsanne Straight of Le Mans. Aside from its Le Mans success, the Sauber C9 earned pole position in the first round of the 1988 World Sports Car Championship and went on to win five out of 12 races that year. The Sauber C9 earned its nickname "Silver Arrow", which harks back to the feared moniker that traced back to Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union GP cars.
Two Sauber C9s made a 1-2 finish at the 1989 World Sports Car Championship at Suzuka Circuit and 2-3 in Dijon.
The C9's records were; 21 races participated, 13 races won, 7 pole positions, and 5 fastest lap times. Notable drivers include Jochen Mass, Manuel Reuter, Stanley Dickens, Mauro Baldi, Kenny Acheson, Gianfranco Brancatelli, Jean-Louis Schlesser, Jean-Pierre Jabouille, and Alain Cudini.

So, the Ford Crown Victoria, the king of cop cars, is gone and American policemen are on a shopping spree for the next generation of cop cars but the question is, which of the new generation of cop cars is the best? I've once watched the Police Cars (S03E01) episode of American Top Gear to find the answer. Tanner Foust, being a Ford guy, drives a 2013 Ford Police Interceptor while Adam Ferrera drives a Dodge Charger Pursuit and Rutledge Wood drives the Chevrolet Caprice PPV, a police-only version of the car imported from Australia.
Here's a quick sum-up:
- The Ford Police Interceptor has a quicker 0-100mph time than the Caprice and the Charger and it has greater stopping power from 100mph to zero against those.
- Chevrolet Caprice PPV doesn't have the strength to endure tear gas attacks that suffocate officers on the inside.
- Lastly, the Ford Police Interceptor's makes the police officer sitting next to you having a hard time shooting the targets. Caprice PPV and the Dodge Charger Pursuit can do better, well Charger Pursuit's not quite good enough for the donuts part...well, doing donuts while eating donuts.
The 2013 Ford Police Interceptor wins the challenge and hey, there's nothing even better than having a Corvette Z06 Police Car race against a quick motorcycle from the warehouse to the bridge, where the Z06 Police Car defeated the motorbike at the end.

And now the news! Now, with the recently launched Nissan Serena C26 S-HYBRID, Nissan collaborates with video game maker, Square Enix, to make a special car themed around the Dragon Quest franchise. The Serena S-Hybrid mini van is being given a coat of Slime. Heard of it? Slime from the Dragon Quest series! The smart simple hybrid minivan teams up with one of the leading Japanese RPG's of all time for a special itasha! Not only that, those who test drive the Serena S-HYBRID will receive Dragon Quest presents courtesy of Nissan and Square Enix. How cool was that?
Anyway, on the Toyota side; AMLUX, a shopping mall for all things Toyota will be hosting a special event packed with the world famous virtual idol, HATSUNE MIKU. This event will be titled 39's CARAVAN presents Natsu Matsuri (summer festival) 2012 in Amlux. It begins on August 27 to September 23, 2012 in Auto Salon Amlux Tokyo and there's going to be Toyota cars decorated with all things Miku, especially the all new 2013 Toyota Corolla E160 range. Don't forget that the Prius Alpha and the Aqua were present as well.

Those who were big fans of THE IDOLM@STER anime last year may have recognized the Namassuka!? Sunday (生っすか！？サンデー) segment of the series that...well, we really don't get what that is but it's some kind of a variety show that was hosted by Haruka Amami, Chihaya Kisaragi, and Miki Hoshii. When you look at their false website (http://www.idolmaster-anime.jp/namassuka/index.html) made by the producers, it seems that whole Namasukka!? Sunday part on THE IDOLM@STER anime is all about the challenges that were aimed to made them....well, you know what it is.
Anyway, what we got here is the first of the new THE IDOLM@STER ANIM@TION MASTER Namassuka Special range and for the first, they got Takane Shijou, Hibiki Ganaha, and Miki Hoshii all rallied up for a series of challenges offered on this CD and of course, what wouldn't be without a selection of songs offered by Takane, Hibiki, and Miki. To spice it up, the song that was featured from a DLC on THE IDOLM@STER 2 video game, titled きゅんっ! ヴァンパイアガール, is included because when you look at the cover, they're all on their MY DEAR VAMPIRE outfit and this suits it up to the theme.
