Forza Horizon 3: Puncha them buns

Our buff baby Porsche crossover returns as a "this weekend only" prize at a Forzathon event and for a crossover like the Porsche Macan, there is one thing we shouldn't mess with.

The Macan, what is it? Launched since 2014, this is Porsche's baby crossover that is smaller than the Cayenne but delivers Cayenne-like dynamics fit enough to be an all-weather Porsche that can handle almost anywhere, no matter the weather and the road condition it faces with. Seen here is the powerful Macan Turbo variant with its turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine developing a sportscar-like 400PS of power output with a 165mph top speed, mated to a 7-speed PDK.

So, enough explanations for that because let's take it to Hot Wheels Thrilltopia to see if the Macan lives up to the buff baby's song.

Isn't this exciting? Driving a Porsche crossover on a thrilling place like this? Isn't what the song said? I'm a buff baby that can dance like a man, I can shake-a my fanny, I can shake-a MACANI'm a tough tootin' baby, I can punch-a yo buns! Punch-a yo buns, I can punch-a yo buns. Let's if you can punch-a your way out of this one...

Punch-a yo buns, baby!

Upcoming CX-3 petrol variant first for new WTLC Mode standards

Mazda CX-3

After being available only with a diesel engine in the Japanese market, Mazda decided to bring the long-awaited petrol variant of their CX-3 compact crossover this summer. The petrol engine will be offered on the CX-3 is a 2.0L SKYACTIV-G petrol engine and it will be the first time this engine will undergo the new WTLC Mode standards.

What is WTLC Mode? Good question, ladies and gentlemen, because the WTLC (Worldwide harmonized light duty driving test cycle) or Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure, whatever you may call it, is a chassis dynamometer test calculate vehicles' fuel efficiency in urban areas (WLTC-L), residential areas (WLTC-M) and highways (WLTC-H), just like the EPA-estimated mileage or the EU combined fuel-efficiency cycle in so many ways and this is their new and proper way to determine how fuel-efficient a car should be. It will replace the JC08 Mode test cycle in October of next year and the next time you'll ask how fuel efficient a Japanese car will be, just remember that it will now be measured in WTLC Mode standards instead of obsolete ones like the 10-15 Mode or the JC08 Mode.

The petrol-variant CX-3 will be the first under this new fuel economy test cycle. In a 2.0L petrol variant with front-wheel drive, fuel efficiency will go by this; 122.km/L WLTC-L, 16.8km/L WLTC-M, and 18.0km/L WLTC-H. Overall, fuel efficiency will be 16km/L, WLTC Mode standard.

Any questions?

FH3 Hot Wheels: To Greater Heights

The BMW M2 has been one of my favorite M cars in Forza Horizon 3. I once challenged it against a Ford Focus RS as well as a Bentley Bentayga for some all intents and purposes and it shows that even though it's not as sharp and as powerful as any of the BMW M-cars, the M2 is better in every tangible way and I can get around with this Bimmer as long as I want, as long as that design I made is with me.

Now, it's ready to take on a brand new challenge, this time at Hot Wheels Thrilltopia because we're in a middle of our Hot Wheels arc of our Horizon trip, and to get itself prepared for this new kind of challenge, I've created a masterpiece just for the M2.

Love the new design I made for this? Made to replicate Yume Nijino's new outfit on the second season of Aikatsu Stars. I know, I know, it's an S4 uniform and with Yume wearing the outfit only the most elite students should wear, it feels great that she finally got the dream of becoming one of them. But even though her dream to be an S4 was fulfilled, there's more work need to be done to defend her title and to that, she needs help from one of her friends. Someone who spins herself like she was thunderstruck, someone who loves to poke her belly, and there she is.

Well, if it isn't the turbocharged, all-wheel drive, Ford Focus RS, with the Rola Sakuraba-themed look I made for it. However, it looked different from the last time. Wonder why...

Okay, now that explains everything. Rola in the same uniform as Lily Shirogane really mean one thing. No, she's not as desperate as she is but because she was easily defeated by Yume, all she ever does is to work as hard as she can before she can join the elite ranks some other time. Now that she's on the same boat as Yume and the others, they're officially partners again. Just like old times.

Anyway, with their designs updated to keep up with the times, as well as some new tricks to their sleeves since our last encounter with these things, let's see if they are ready to go through new heights in this epic roller coaster paradise we are venturing right now. Are these gals ready for the trip of a lifetime?

After a little night out at the Thrilltopia, it's fair to say that even through they've changed a bit, their attitudes never changed a bit and looks like they're up to greater heights, literally! The one who achieved the dream and the other one trying hard to be like her, they're in sync with each other! Speaking of which...

Heh? What's that queenly majesty doing here? Something tells me this isn't over between those two. He he he. Anyway, let's leave it at then and in the meantime, we have the whole Thrilltopia to go around for more as the journey continues.

THREATS FROM NORTH KOREA: U.N. council to vote on blacklisting more North Koreans

The United Nations Security Council will vote on Friday on a US-Chinese proposal to blacklist more North Koreans after the country's repeated ballistic missile launches, according to diplomats.

The draft resolution would sanction four entities,  including the Koryo Bank and Strategic Rocket Force of the Korean People’s Army, and 14 people, including Cho Il U, who is believed to head North Korea’s overseas spying operations. If so, they would subject to a global asset freeze and travel ban, making the listings more symbolic given the isolated nature of official North Korean entities and the sophisticated network of front companies used by the Korean Peninsula to evade sanctions.

This is the first Security Council sanctions resolution on North Korea agreed between the United States and China since President Donald Trump took office in January.
