Kuya Jobert's Damoobs in "Wolf Whistle"

Another Damoobs ni Kuya Jobert Austria on the February 2 episode on Banana Split; there was some guy (Bentong) is having a hard time doing the Wolf Whistle to the incoming woman. Then Kuya Jobert approaches and tells him that he's good at whistling. First of all, he's doing some funny parts on his face. LOL
Then, Kuya Jobert ate some polvoron, and doing some funny faces again but instead of whistling, he spitted the chewed polvoron on the guy's face! HAH HAH!
In the end, Kuua Jobert gave him an ordinary whistle and the guy performed Wolf Whistle on the girl and the girl smack the heck out of that guy! Ouch!

No candle during brownout? Leave it to Alpha Beth!

Another Alpha Beth episode on the February 1 episode of Banana Split Daily Servings! When the couple forgot the candle during the brownout, this is the job for Alpha Beth, the superhero who has a letter to solve problems! The word is "HANDLE", then replace the letter H with the letter C and ta-da! It's a "CANDLE"!

Also, Kuya Art, the Art Throb shows us how to make the Statue of Liberty with the use of clay and water. Heh, guess the Art Throb's messing the clay until it becomes the Statue of Liberty!

I almost forgot! Up to the day to celebrate Chinese New Year 2011, the Nuno sa Feng Shui gave us tips from Monday to Friday on the Banana Split spoof of TV Patrol, called Ang TV (doo wa diddy di di dum di di doo) Patrol!

Kuya Jobert takes on Soccer

In the Isports Lang segment in the January 31 episode of Banana Split Daily Servings, an athlete (John Prats) approaches to Kuya Jobert, telling him that Kuya Jobert's playing soccer. Kuya Jobert's using the AZKALS reference, showing to this athlete that he's good at soccer. Oh, well, that's Kuya Jobert's trademark...

Kuya Jobert shows a cleverly funny way to kick the soccer ball. After kicking the ball with his style, Kuya Jobert's buttocks was hit. OUCH! Later, the athlete is going to kick the ball with that style Kuya Jobert used. In the end, Kuya Jobert got hit by a soccer ball! ROFL

2012 Lexus CT 200h

Is it official? Is it official that the darker side of green, the Lexus CT 200h, is coming to the Philippines? According to Toyota Motor Philippines and Lexus Manila, its coming this late February!

Scoop:

That was quick. When the CT 200h debuted on January 12, 2011, I didn't know that LExus Manila finally got the memo and ready to bring the Lexus CT 200h to the Philippines just before the Philippine summer 2011! This is the cheapest Lexus we can try and yes, we are ready to dance with this hybrid!

Shall we Dance with Hybrid?

Is Mutya the next-generation Marina?

Back in 2004, ABS-CBN created a new genre in the history of Philippine television called "Fantaserye" that fills fantasy on the drama. Their first Fantaserye was Marina, which stars Claudine Baretto as Marina, a young girl who was cursed as a mermaid. Everyone knows this famous fantaserye, right?

The newest discovery of ABS-CBN, Mutya Orquia, will play as the titular character Mutya, a little girl who was born with a strange condition that looks like a mermaid. Mutya is the daughter of Cordella (played by Precious Lara Quigaman) who falls in love with a merman named Irvin (Alfred Vargas).

Separated by fear, and now in the hands of Mutya's new adoptive parents, will the young girl tries to fit in her normal life if she looks like a mermaid?

When I first peeked at the teaser, I thought that Mutya looks a lot like Xyriel Anne Manabay, but no. She's not Xyriel! She's Mutya! Kudos to ABS-CBN for their newest discovery but is Mutya the next-generation Marina?

Based on the work from the late Pablo S. Gomez (who is also behind the currently airing comedy-drama, Juanita Banana), directed by Erick Salud and Jojo Saguin, and starring Precious Lara Quigaman, Alfred Vargas, Malou Crisologo, Sandy Andolong, Tess Antonio, Gary Lim, Pen Medina, Ogie Diaz, Nina Jose, Ahron Villena, Jairus Aquino, and introducing Mutya Orquia as Mutya herself!

Scheduled to be on air this January 31 after Noah!

Volkswagen Jetta VI

In North America, it is common that you are seeing a bunch of Volkswagen Jetta cars roaming around the American road, especially the Motor City, Detroit, Michigan. Although the Volkswagen Jetta is the German's take on the Toyota Corolla and the Honda Civic, the pricing for the Jetta is set at its competitive peak, calling it the entry-level Volkswagen for all, always staying up to its "Das Auto" slogan. In Summer 2010, the sixth-generation Volkswagen Jetta made its world premiere at Times Square, New York, and began sales on that quarter. With its North American success, Volkswagen decided to bring the Jetta on its homeland, Germany, and commercialization starts this 1st quarter 2011.

Although the codename is NCS (New Compact Sedan), the sixth-generation Jetta made this entry-level V-Dub sedan even more feistier and no longer shares the Golf platform, no longer called "the Golf with the trunk" anymore. In Europe, the sixth-generation Jetta is offered in an entry-level 1.2-litre TSi engine, a 1.6-litre TDi engine, and a high-performance 2.0-litre TDi engine. The 1.2-litre TSi engine is a turbocharged engine capable of releasing a power output of just 105 PS and consumes for about 5.7 litres/100km, while the 1.6L TDi engine consumes for about 4.5 litres/100km with the same power output as the 1.2-litre TSi engine, making it an effective European eco-car for the masses. Lastly, the top-of-the-line 2.0 TDI DPF has a greater power output of 140 PS and consumes for about 4.8 litres/100km. Volkswagen plans to add more engine ranges for the new Jetta in the future.

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE JETTA:
Entry-level quality at its best, and that is why the Jetta evolved into even more than what you expect from other entry-level cars. Although the exterior looks more like an enlarged version of the Russian-made Polo Saloon, the new Jetta looks more stylish and stays true to its entry-level roots. With its improved tastes, I admit that the new Jetta makes it a worthy opponent from the world of entry-level compact sedans. The Hyundai Accent RB seems to be waiting for the new Jetta to make a move.

With that, I just really hope that Volkswagen will return to the Philippines soon, however, we do not like what will the price of this new Jetta is because it will end up being 10% more expensive than the Toyota Belta.
