Doctor Who S1E7 Episode Review

"There's always a twist in the end." That's what The Doctor sang after defeating Maestro in The Devil's Chord but strangely, this isn't just his victory song. It's a forewarning.

A forewarning that saw the mysterious lady, played by Susan Twist, popping up in his adventures and with Maestro's warning about "the one who waits", things are going full circle as the recent Doctor Who episode, the first of the two-part season finale, unmasks the biggest mysteries The Doctor and Ruby encountered.

How to dress as the AiPri idols

Himitsu no AiPri, the fifth installment of the Pretty Series is about two girls, Himari and Mitsuki, striving to become the best AiPri idols amid heated competition from the best of the AiPriVerse.

As anime convention season draws near, it looks like you have grown interested in the new Pretty Series installment and you wanted to be one of the AiPri idols. Guess what? No need to go to the AiPriVerse because now, it's time to teach you how to be one of your favorite AiPri idols. With that, welcome to AiPriVerse Day!

Himitsu no AiPri
Himitsu no AiPri

As Himari Aozora - Himari Aozora is the main character of the show. A cheerful and energetic middle-schooler who dreams of scoring a million friends. She represents the Poppin' Heart brand. If you want to transform yourself into Himari Aozora, the main character of Himitsu no AiPri, the first step is to get her extremely long pink hair. That’s the intermediate task. But if you’re up for the advanced task, you’ll need to learn how to style her twin tails. They need to be twirled just right, and they need to be positioned above the head. It’s definitely not easy, but if you want to truly become Himari, you have to go all out. With the hairstyle sorted out, you're now officially Himari Aozora! Feel free to pick whatever costume you like for this cosplay.

As Mitsuki Hoshikawa - Mitsuki Hoshikawa is the kind of person who is charismatic, but also quiet and reserved. She’s also a viral sensation because of her AiPriVerse web show called Mii Channel. She is Himari’s childhood best friend. She represents the Miracle Moon brand. If you’re interested in dressing up as Mitsuki Hoshikawa for an anime convention, the first step is to get a long blond hairdo. Then, you’ll need to tinker with it until you can match Mitsuki’s hairstyle. As long as you can get the hairstyle right, you pretty much have her look down.

As Sakura Ichijoji - Sakura Ichijoji is the President of the Paradise Private Academy's Student Council, the eye of the campus, a cunning elitist with a plan, and a member of Ruby=Lazuli. She represents the Scarlet Butterfly brand. The first step to becoming Sakura Ichijoji is to get an extra-long red wig. But the real struggle is learning to braid between the rear ponytail. It’s not easy, but if you get it right, you’re officially Sakura Ichijoji.

As Tamaki Nikaido - Tamaki Nikaido is a member of the Paradise Private Academy Student Council and she's a real fashion leader with a strong sense of style. She represents the Rosession brand and is a member of Ruby=Lazuli. An extremely long bright peach-colored hairdo is the first task of becoming Tamaki but the braided twin-tails are worthy of a challenge. With that sorted, you're now officially Tamaki Nikaido.

As Airi Mitsuba - Airi Mitsuba from the anime Himitsu no AiPri seems like an interesting character. She's on the Student Council at Paradise Private Academy, but she's not just into books! Airi also enjoys business tactics, robotics, and programming. Plus, she represents the Rainbow Candy brand and is a member of AISMIRIN. If you want to cosplay as Airi, all you'll need to do is get a short lime green hairdo and style it to look like hers. The costume should be easy to find after that. Would you want to cosplay as Airi Mitsuba?

As Rinrin Shinomiya - Rinrin Shinomiya is a member of the Paradise Private Academy Student Council and her specialty is data analysis. She represents the Bear Bear Bear brand and is a member of AISMIRIN. If you're planning a Rinrin Shinomiya cosplay, you're going to need a long orange hairdo that matches her double bun segments. And not just any buns, but perfectly round, perfectly symmetrical, perfectly orange buns. The probability of you cosplaying as Rinrin is so-so, but if you can pull off the hairstyle, you can officially call yourself a Rinrin Shinomiya cosplayer. Good luck!

As Chii Mamiya - Chii Mamiya is one of Himari's classmates and she's a brash loudmouth who tries to make her name in the AiPriVerse, no matter how many times she failed. She represents the Love My Music brand. Just a light lavender-colored short hair would do the trick and then put a light green headband onto it. That's it.

As Tsumugi Suzukaze - Tsumugi Suzukaze is the mysterious girl lurking around the AiPriVerse. Everything about her is unknown for the moment. Who is she and how did she know Himari Aozora? She represents the Flower March brand. Although Tsumugi is enigmatic, there's nothing enigmatic about her hairstyle. A long black hair is all you need and then slightly fix it to match Tsumugi's hairstyle. With that, you'll be the mysterious girl from the AiPriVerse. The costumes are up to you...if there's one.

...and there you have it. How to be your favorite idol from Himitsu no AiPri. Who needs to go to the AiPriVerse to see their favorite idols when you can become one yourself? With these tips on how to dress up as your favorite character from Himitsu no AiPri, cosplaying will be a piece of cake.

If you’re a fan of Himari Aozora or Mitsuki Hoshikawa, this is definitely an opportunity you wouldn’t want to miss. With the right hairdo, hairstyle, and costume, you’ll be ready to walk the stage as your favorite idol. Now, go out there and shine like the AiPri idol you are!

My FM Log: 963 Reasons to Drive

It's Le Mans Day so let's celebrate by driving the Porsche 963, the LMDh racer that competes in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

For a limited time, Forza Motorsport players can download the "963 Combo" DLC for free until June 19th. After that, it costs $4.99. With this DLC, you get in-game access to the #5 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 and the racing suit.

Before I drive the 963 in Forza Motorsport, let's have a quick info about Porsche's LMDh fighter.

Following in the footsteps of its LMP1-winning 919 Hybrid, the Porsche 963 is created to compete in the Hypercar and GTP classes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Built with a number of advanced features such as carbon fiber bodywork penned by Grant Larson from Style Porsche, the 963's hybrid powertrain is derived from the 918 Spyder but can run on renewable fuels. The styling is inspired by legends such as the 956 and the 962 that raced in the 1980s.

From its debut in the 2023 Rolex Daytona 24-hour endurance race, the 963 saw success at the hands of Porsche Penske Motorsport in both the FIA WEC and IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Recently, the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 gained pole position for the first time in Le Mans at the time of 3:24.634. Sounds herculean but rather than taking a fool of a dare, I decided to do my best to lap the 963 around Le Mans as fast as I could. Roll the tape.

After a quick lap around Le Mans in the 963, I did it in 3m56.492s. That's the best I can do. Although I couldn't beat the real-world pole position lap time set by Kevin Estre behind the wheel, I had fun driving the 963 around Le Mans in the game.

With the Porsche 963 claiming its Le Mans Pole Position status, will it win today's Le Mans endurance race against a full house of Hypercar competitors and end Ferrari's reign as the defending champion of Le Mans? Don't miss the 24 Hours of Le Mans today and in case you haven't got it, you have until June 19th to claim the 963 Combo DLC for Forza Motorsport for free.

Viel Glück, Porsche.

My FH5 Log: Sludge Wave

Forza Horizon 5’s Horizon Retrowave update has just been hit with a sludge wave bringing with it three old cars from the 1980s. It’s the same story as last time, the cars came from the salvage yard and into the game. It’s just one more thing that makes it seem like the Forza franchise is on a path to self-destruction. We’ve seen enough old cars already.

First up, the BMW M635CSi that I've salvaged from the update's Storm Season Playlist.

The BMW M635CSi was revealed at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show and is based on the E24 6-Series. The M635CSI features an upgraded six-cylinder engine that was used to power the BMW M1. This engine generates 286 PS (210 kW; 282 hp) of power, and it is mated with a Getrag 280/5 five-speed manual gearbox.

In the United States, the M635CSi is known as the M6 and uses a catalyzed S38B35 motor engine. This engine produces 256bhp, which is less than the Euro-spec version due to stricter emissions regulations in North America. The M6 was built at BMW's Dingolfing plant from 1983 to 1989 with body shells sourced from Osnabruck-based Karmann works.

There are several versions of the M635CSi and M6. Two non-catalyst models were produced for the European market, one with left-hand drive and one with right-hand drive. There are also three distinct catalyst versions for Europe, North America, and Japan, all of which are left-hand drive.

Our second offender in this recent mess is the Lotus Esprit Series 2 that I've salvaged from the update's Dry Season Playlist.

The Lotus Esprit Series 2 is a cool sports car with a great history and a unique design. It has taillights from the Rover SD1 and an interior with Morris Marina switches. There’s even a special model that commemorates Lotus’ victory at the 1978 Formula One championship. It was originally limited to 300 units, but nearly half of it was made and sold.

In 1980, the Essex Turbo Esprit was launched. Finished in the livery of Essex Overseas Petroleum Corporation, which was Team Lotus' sponsor from 1979 to 1981, the Essex Turbo Esprit is the first-ever turbocharged Esprit, powered by a 2.2L type 910 engine which produces 210hp of power and 271Nm of torque. It goes from 0-60mph in 6.1 seconds and flat-out in 150mph. It even comes with a revised chassis rear suspension setup and improved braking.

Last but not least, the Citroen BX4TC that I've salvaged from the Hot Season Playlist.

Developed for the 1985 World Rally Championship, the Citroën BX 4TC is a rally car derived from the Citroën BX production model. It was designed for Group B rallying in the World Rally Championship.

Sharing little resemblance to the normal BX, the 4TC features a longer nose due to the use of the slightly smaller 2.1L Simca Type 180 engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox sourced from the SM.

The 4TC is proven to be a difficult contender due to its weight, small power, and hydraulic suspensions causing understeer. The best result it has done is a sixth-place finish in Sweden with Jean-Claude Andruet. Citroen withdrew from the 1985 WRC to make revisions but the end of Group B racing threw a wrench to BX 4TC's debut.

Citroen produced 200 road-legal versions to comply with Group B regulations, each costing 248,500 francs. Due to its expensive price tag, only 86 were sold.

Although scarred by the corrosion of the past, I've given these three toxic wastes on wheels for a quick race across Horizon Mexico's finest just to see how much poison has left after being salvaged by the Forza producers from the scrapyard to the game. Roll the tapes.

Looks like Horizon Retrowave's very own Toxic Crusaders win the day.

The Horizon Retrowave update in Forza Horizon 5 is just another stark reminder that a racing game franchise like Forza often prefers featuring old cars rather than the latest and the hottest cars. This is a huge bummer because, while it may be a lot of fun to look at classic cars, racing games are supposed to be about having the latest and greatest vehicles, which is something that Forza is sorely lacking.

The next update is called “Modern Horizons” and I can’t help but hope that it will do the exact opposite of the current update. It would be so refreshing to see some modern-day cars coming to the game. I know I’m not the only one who thinks this, so here’s to hoping.

It’s not like there aren’t enough old cars in Forza already. How many more do we need? How long is this going to go on? I want to race in modern cars, and I want to race in them now. If Forza isn’t going to do it, I hope someone else will.

Please, please, Forza producers, bring us more modern present-day cars!
