The Kara Mia finale

The story of Kara Mia revolves in the lives of twin sisters Kara and Mia, who happens to share the same body with Mia's face behind Kara's head. The twin sisters have spent the rest of their lives struggling to live a normal life even when their bodies are separated during nightfall. In the final week of the show, the sisters resolve their differences to save their mother Aya from the hands of an elf named Iswal, who claims to be the twins' father.

After Kara and Aya successfully vanquished Iswal at the cost of Mia's life, Mia encountered someone from the afterlife. It's their late little sister Star who wishes Mia to return back to the family. After Mia's encounter with Star at the afterlife, Mia miraculously comes back to life at the hands of Kara and Mia's hands.

Now, the three are racing against time to find the portal back home. As the portal closes, Arthur, Boni, Chino, and Father Sio managed to pull the three back home and they did, reuniting the family together at last.

As the family arrived home, Julia and her daughter Ellie arrived not to wreck havoc to them but to apologize for all the wrongdoings that torn Kara and Mia's family apart and decided to return back to Iloilo to start a new life.

Moments later, Kara and Mia celebrated their birthday with their family and friends at home.

They're now living their peaceful lives as the sisters hoped...or are they?

This concludes the very unique story of Kara Mia.

Disney's Dumbo (2019 film)

One of the most iconic Disney legends has brought back to life by the hands of visionary director Tim Burton and the 2019 live-action rebirth of Dumbo, the world's first flying elephant, promises to soar through new heights as one of the must watch films in the Spring season.

Disney's Dumbo (2019 film)

Starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, and Eva Green, among many others, the new Dumbo movie feels very different to the old Disney cartoon film it was based on and whereas the original featured some talking mouse and some crows, this film doesn't because it has one flying elephant, human cast of characters and that's it.

Dumbo was teased and taunted by many because of its very large ears but when they learned that Dumbo can fly with its massive ears, the already struggling circus comes back to life but with all of the fame Dumbo gets comes with a massive price; its freedom.

Like I mentioned, the live-action Dumbo film shares half in common with the original cartoon and because it had no mice and crows in the cast, some people would truly believe that Tim Burton must have ruined the story of Dumbo and labeled as witchcraft and sacrilege as is but despite being a treason to the original, it's still has some Disney spark to captivate the whole family from start to finish and this is where the magic of Dumbo truly shines.

High or low, the new Dumbo movie may not be the Dumbo every Disney enthusiasts expect but it's truly one of the must-watch movies to enjoy in the Spring season. The more you know.

My rating: 3.9 out of 5.

The Kid Who Would Be King

The legendary tale of King Arthur and the Sword of Excalibur just got itself a modern twist as the newest family adventure film to ring in the year 2019 unfolds and it's about the story of an average kid who was chosen to save the world from a malevolent force trying to threaten the world. No sweat, right?

The Kid Who Would Be King

The Kid Who Would Be King is a film where old school magic meets the modern world in one of the most ideal family movies to kickstart the year 2019 with epic adventures. It's about the story of an average kid named Alex who was chosen to unleash the Sword of Excalibur. With the help of the magician Merlin, the kid who would be king prepares to team up with his friends and foes and unite to save the world from the wrath of Morgana.

Although the title of the film sounds rather odd because a few heard of a certain someone but never mind about the questionable movie title because this family adventure film is about finding one's destiny and use it to change the future, for better or for worse.

With a blend of comic humor, drama, and thrilling action in store, this film really pulls all the right angles to deliver a family film worth ruling for in all the right or wrong barrels that is and in such case, there's no denying The Kid Who Would Be King will be one of the best films to ring in the new year with sheer epic enjoyment.

Questionable title, epic adventure. That really sums up the film well.

My rating: 3.9 out of 5.

Doctor Who New Year's Day 2019 special

For the first time in Doctor Who history, the hit BBC TV series have transitioned from the usual Christmas specials its predecessors spawned to New Year's Day specials in the age of the female Doctor and first-ever New Year's Day special involves an ancient evil re-emerging in New Year's Day and it's up to The Doctor and her companions are on a race against time to stop it.

An ancient evil, after numerous centuries ago, has resurfaced and it's plotting to take over the world and The Doctor and her companions are on an epic race against time to put a stop to this powerful new threat by all means necessary. To add all the drama to this special, Ryan's dad emerges and this whole family affair is overshadowing the dire situation.

At first, we thought it may not come back in the age of the 13th Doctor, but in the special, it has returned as the Dalek made a grand comeback in the Jodie Whitaker years, this time more menacing than ever. No wonder this Dalek has been proven to be one tough opponent for The Doctor to "exterminate" it.

The Dalek's grand comeback really is the center piece of the New Year special Doctor Who fans will remember it forever but with the special finally ended, we may never know what's next for The 13th Doctor and her companions as they will return this 2020.

It's a very long wait but at least, we have fun getting to know more about the 13th Doctor and her companions since the beginning of her tenure battling new foes, travelling through different universes, meeting new people, and so on.

See you in 2020.

Doctor Who S11 FINALE

The eleventh series of BBC's Doctor Who marks the beginning of the new era, an ere where, for the first time, a female Doctor took center stage and as fans of the hit British sci-fi series are reacting about how actress Jodie Whitaker fare as the 13th Doctor, this series draws so much mixed reactions. Some say that it doesn't live up to the excitement as its predecessors done apart from the lack of two-parters to make it more exciting but some appreciated to the diversity this new chapter of Doctor Who showcased. This new chapter of Doctor Who really is something the fans couldn't forget about.

And now, here we are, after nine episodes of the series with sadly, no two-parter on sight and classic villains on sight, it all comes down to this; the Series 11 finale where an old foe they've encountered from the 13th Doctor's first adventure resurfaces in a race against time to save the universe from an imminent threat.

In the Series 11 finale, The Doctor and her companions landed in the planet of Ranskoor Av Kolos where they encountered one of the remaining survivors and picked up a strange transmission coming from a familiar enemy. That familiar enemy, ladies and gentlemen, is T'zim-sha of the Stenza or what The Doctor like to call her enemy Tim Shaw. With, er...., Tim Shaw (let's say it) returned and used the will of the Ux race for a planetary genocide with this shrine they're standing on, it's a desperate struggle as The Doctor and her companions trying to rescue the captives and put a stop to this evil plot, whatever that means.

That really is a sure fire way to end the 11th series of Doctor Who. From the 13th Doctor's first adventure, battling against a little alien vermin, meeting Rosa Parks, getting involved in a witch hunt, solving the Kerblam! conspiracy, all the way to bringing that Tim Shaw guy to justice, the new era has just getting started for The Doctor and the gang.

This concludes the 11th series of Doctor Who. The 13th Doctor will return in 2020, which is a very long time to wait but don't fret because she'll be back in the first-ever New Year's Day special on the 1st of January, 2019.

Doctor Who S11E09

The penultimate episode of the 11th season of BBC's Doctor Who draws the line between reality and alternative reality in a way almost no Whovians saw it coming. This episode really takes Whovans away as the title of the episode implies. It takes you away.

On this episode, The Doctor and her companions arrived at the Norwegian fjord in the present day and when they find a young girl in the closet of a small house, the gang are finding something wrong's going on around the Norwegian fjord until a monstrous howl and a mysterious mirror calls for further mystery-solving for the gang to find the girl's father.

The line between truth and lies really is the theme of this episode and the mysterious Solitract that blurs the line between them really adds some tense to this penultimate episode, although most Whovians are drawing up some familiarity between the real world and the alternate world in this episode because that classic Whovian concept must have been recycled from a very long time ago.

Oh, Norway...

Doctor Who S11E08

The recent Doctor Who episode puts the spotlight on 17th century witchcraft being outlawed and what they came is more than just witchcraft. In fact, a really big one that rattles our beliefs over black magic.

In this episode, The Doctor and her companions arrived at 17th-century Lancashire and got entangled in a middle of a witch trial and the sudden arrival of King James I made their truth-finding even more complicated. This episode features more than the work of the devil. In fact, it's an alien race imprisoned under the tree but then freed to use the bodies of the dead to wreak havoc.

That King James is all about the drama in this episode that's something we can all relate to this episode about witchcraft and rogue aliens that rattles our beliefs and we can all learn something from this episode that if we want to know the secrets of existence, we have to start with the mysteries of the heart. That's what The Doctor said.

Doctor Who S11E07

The recent episode of Doctor Who puts a terrifying meaning to retail as The Doctor and her companions are going deeper to the galaxy's biggest retail and find out what's going on.

Having received a mysterious message from the package, The Doctor and her companions are investigating the galaxy's biggest retail, known as Kerblam!, posing as workers, and what they find in the underbelly of Kerblam! is more than what they're expecting.

This is the first time in history we get to see the title of the episode that ends with an exclamation point and believe it or not, the opening sequence of the episode gave us the jive because of the fez. Yes, Doctor, it's still you but still, fezzes are cool.

However, no time to get awed over the fez because what this episode expresses is the horrifying future where robots taking over humans (almost) in the workforce and it's hard to imagine what life be as shown in this episode when it happens in the coming years.

Technology in the workforce. If it gets too much, there can be some fatal consequences more deadly than the Kerblam! bubble wrap from the episode.

The heroic finale of Victor Magtanggol

Victor Magtanggol is the story of an ordinary man who was destined to wield the hammer of Thor, the Mjolnir, and protect Midgard from the clutches of Loki, the god of mischief and deception. In the course of the finale, with Victor finally exposed as Hammer Man and then surrendered the Mjolnir to Loki, his plot to destroy Midgard comes into fruition by turning Gwen's brother, Lance, into Fenrir, and Victor's sister, Lynette, who was presumed dead by the ambulance blast caused by the Jotuns, into Hel, the goddess of death. With the threat of Ragnarok looming, Victor teams up with his friends, his family, and some old enemies to put a stop to Loki's plot to destroy Midgard once and for all.

In the heroic finale of Victor Magtanggol, as Loki unleashed the end of Midgard, Victor and allies are headed to the cave to recover Thor's gauntlets, which was covered by the fires of Hel. After an argument on who has to sacrifice themselves to get the gauntlets, Victor's father, Tomas, recklessly touched the fire while giving Victor the chance to retrive the gauntlets.

After such sacrifice to retrieve the gauntlets, Victor and his allies are on an all-or-nothing final battle against Loki and his minions. As the battle between the gods and Loki's minions heating up, the fight between Victor and Loki are raging and as Jormungand swallowed the Mjolnir, the power of the Mjolnir shattered Jormungand, Victor tries to finish Loki off until Loki took Lynette (or Hel) hostage.

However, Hel (Lynette) finished Loki off and because Hel's power is too strong to Lynette to fight, there is no other choice for Victor but sacrifice himself to Hel's will. With Hel now controlling Victor, Loki finishes Victor off but for his last resort, Victor killed Loki with the Mjolnir.

Moments after Victor's inevitable sacrifice, Gwen sulks to Tim about losing two of her beloved people. Victor, meanwhile, bids Sif and Modi farewell now that the fight is over and as Victor handed over the Mjolnir to Modi, Modi decided to throw the Mjolnir back to the heavens so he won't commit the sinful mistake again.

Peace has restored in Asgard and Midgard and this concludes the heroic tale of Victor Magtanggol.
