The Peach State is the next stop for the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series as the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 witnessed another page written in the NASCAR history books.

As the green flag waved, the action in Atlanta kicked off. Stage 1 saw Noah Gragson crash badly, Ross Chastain facing problems with his car, a two-lap hold for the #1 car for improper fueling under the damaged vehicle policy, and a four-car disaster. As William Byron won Stage 1, Stage 2 saw more mayhem with Tyler Reddick going around at the front of the field, and another four-car crash on the track. As Ryan Blaney won Stage 2, the final stage is where all bets are off for the drivers.

F1 2022: Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

It's the beginning of the new era of Formula 1 racing as the 2022 season marks the debut of the new-generation Formula 1 car featuring a radical redesign and improved dynamics compared to the previous F1 car. Apart from the new machine, the F1 2022 season marks the debut of Zhou Guanyu, the first Chinese F1 driver, representing Alfa Romeo, and the return of Kevin Magnussen in Haas.

With new and returning faces aside, the new era of Formula One kicked off in Sakhir for the Bahrain Grand Prix. It's the true test to demonstrate the true capabilities of the new F1 machines and this is where the real action starts.

The race kicks off with Charles Leclerc storming to the lead and other drivers are charging through. However, come lap 4, Mick Schumacher spun out following contact with Esteban Ocon. Halfway through the race, the action intensifies further for the drivers and as the end is near, Pierre Gasly's day in Bahrain has ended when his car caught fire. With three laps left, as Max Verstappen struggles to catch up with Leclerc, disaster struck last year's champion as his car lost power, sent to the pits, and sadly retired. Worse for Red Bull, the final lap saw Sergio Perez spun out at turn 1, giving Lewis Hamilton the opportunity to clinch the podium spot.

2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts

A few moments ago, Sebring welcomes back the FIA WEC for their season opener despite the race ending prematurely in the final hour of the race due to the oncoming storm. With the WEC's day in Sebring done abruptly, it's the turn of IMSA to pick up the pieces with the second outing of this season with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts.

Unlike the WEC equivalent, IMSA's Sebring 12 hour endurance race is even more exciting because it delivers more drama and action than WEC's own 1000-mile race from sunrise to sunset.

As the sun sets in Sebring, the #02 Cadillac Racing DPi emerged as the winner of the Sebring 12 Hour endurance race. The #52 PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports won the LMP2 class, the Sean Creech Motorsport for the LMP3 class, #3 Corvette Racing for the PRO class, and the #47 Cetilar Racing for the GTD class.

The next race will be the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach from the 8th to the 10th of April, 2022.

My GT7 Log: The star of GT5

The next Gran Turismo star we'll be showcasing in Gran Turismo 7 is the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the hero car of Gran Turismo 5 that was launched in 2010.

The SLS is an AMG original masterpiece that serves as the spiritual successor of the legendary 300SL because of the gullwing doors it possesses. While the gullwing doors hark back from the said classic, the SLS AMG is powered by a 6.2L V8 engine that produces 571 PS (420 kW; 563 hp) of power and 650 N·m (480 lb·ft) of torque. It was the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in the world when it was unveiled and when mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT seven-speed sports transmission, it does 0-100kph in less than four seconds and has a top speed of 317kph.

While the styling draws inspiration from the 300SL, the SLS AMG does behave like an American muscle car. Sounds like one as well. I had a lot of fun driving the SLS AMG in GT5 many years ago from Suzuka to the Nurburgring, from the Top Gear Track to Daytona. This thing is challenging but charming in every way and there are no other words to describe the assertive performance the SLS delivers. With the SLS part of the GT7 car roster, this future classic German has some unfinished business to do. Speaking of which...

It's time to give the SLS AMG a quick refresher around Monza, the venue of the Italian Grand Prix. It may be more of a trip down memory lane because both the car and the track appeared in GT5 but this is serious stuff I'm conducting for the sake of Gran Turismo nostalgia. Let's roll the tape.

After a quick lap through memory lane, the SLS did it in 2:09.201. Not the best attempt I've done but the deed is done for nostalgia's sake.

The SLS AMG may be extinct several years ago but it has left a huge lasting impression in the world of Gran Turismo. For a car that is muscular and elegant, this future classic is rather excellent in every way.

What other Gran Turismo stars should I drive next? Stay tuned for more.

FIA WEC S10 - 1000 Miles of Sebring

2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the FIA World Endurance Championship and this season is a milestone for the world's most prestigious endurance racing series. With Peugeot returned to endurance racing in the Hypercar class, it's going to be stiff competition for defending champions Toyota Gazoo Racing aiming for their next title. Not only that, Corvette Racing's joining the WEC LMGTE Pro bandwagon as well with their C8.R racer.

The first outing of the 10th WEC season is Sebring. After two years, the WEC is back in Sebring for their season opener, and boy the teams truly missed the sweet smell of burnt rubber coursing through American soil. While the drivers enjoyed their long-awaited return in Sebring for their first outing of this milestone season, there are some that didn't go well. The biggest of all is when Toyota's Jose-Maria Lopez managed to escape the wreckage after the halfway mark of the race.

Screengrab from WEC

As the race nears its climax, it got red-flagged suddenly due to an approaching storm. The #36 Alpine ELF Team that is leading the race nicked its first WEC victory with Nicolas Lapierre, Matthieu Vaxiviere, and Andre Negrao behind the wheel. The #83 AF CORSE won the LMP2 Pro-Am class, the #23 United Autosports USA for LMP2, the #98 Northwest AMR for LMGTE AM, and the #92 Porsche GT Team for LMGTE Pro.

What a way to kick off the 10th WEC season! The next race is at Spa-Francorchamps for the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
