Forza Horizon: A few good BMW's

Bimmers love the open road of Colorado, especially in a game of Forza Horizon but sometimes not all Bimmers are good, well they are better or BEST! There are a good bimmers, some better ones, and the BEST BMW cars offered on Horizon. For me, the best Bimmers I have ever drive were...

...the normal BMW M3 E92...

This is like a promotional video!

...the BMW Z4 E89, which is the dinosaur ravaging through Horizon...

Beware of the dinosaur with big meaty testes!

...the BMW 1M Coupe, which maybe old but still a goodie for the enthusiasts...

The other Annoying Orange...

...and the BMW M5 F10, which is definitely the best BMW 4-door high performance sports saloon which loves to pull some moves for the sake of its popularity...

This driver's had a cousin in Yorkshire!

Those beamers were the best! It really showed me how "Freude am Fahren" they are, sticking true to its BMW slogan and you know it.

A Hot Metal with the M5 on Forza 4

In Forza Motorsport 4, I got myself a pleasure of tasting different flavors or generations of the BMW M5 starting from the...

E28 (1985-1988)

BMW E28 M5

 E34 (1989-1995)

BMW E34 M5

E39 (1998-2003)

BMW E39 M5

E60 (2005-2010)

BMW E60 M5

F10 (2011-present)

BMW F10 M5

The clash of the M5's!

Now whenever I see different generations of the BMW M5 clashing around the racetracks offered on Forza Motorsport 4, I kinda think like which family member think is the most deserving because they're all just pumped up 4-door saloon cars, they're all made in Germany, they're all carrying different stories, and they're all have different talents to showcase at this game. This would be like Hot Metal...Wait, don't know Hot Metal? It's Jeremy Clarkson's 2004 DVD showcasing cars from the past against the cars from the present. Pretty cool, huh?

WHICH M5 WILL YOU CHOOSE?

Forza 4 meets the new BMW M5 F10

Rite of Passage

The arrival of the new BMW M5 F10 exclusively on Forza Motorsport 4 sparked the hype from Forza fans, saying that how in the world can they find this new model and indeed, Turn 10 was so generous that the all new BMW M5 F10 is available at the in-game marketplace with no additional charge, or in short, FREE! It's yours to keep, race, and explore in Autovista mode.

The BMW M5 F10's interior

When I tried the all new BMW F10 M5, it has the same experience I tried on the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the Jaguar XFR. It acts like those, feels like those, and the results are very decent for this new model. Those who already downloaded it at the marketplace for free are would wish to get the all new BMW M5 F10 for 90,000 CR. It's powered with the new 4.4L V8 Twin Turbo engine that produces 552HP of power and 501 lb-ft of torque. It weights 4,123LBS and it has a front weight ratio of 52%.

Shooting for the next Top Gear season...

At the hands of the owner, he or she can mix and match the all new BMW M5 F10 just the way they like it with its tuning setups and wide array of decorations to make several versions of the BMW M5 F10. Let's just say, they will create a modernized Ring Taxi version of the M5 or slap some hand-made license plates at the back to make it more classy.

Our friends from Studie AG previews
their BMW M5 F10 tuning project!

With driving aids off, the BMW M5 F10 is one heck of a scary ride because of its FR layout and if you're not careful, you blew your opportunity to drive it. What I like about this car is its aerodynamics, design, interior view, and the new engine which performs better than the V10 engine from the previous M5. What I don't like about this car is its weight. Driving the new M5 is a challenge but if you invest more in practice, you'll get used to this new and improved model. You no longer feel like a dull businessman anymore.

THE NEW BMW M5 (F10)

Now, I'm very confident that this is the kind of Bimmer you will probably drive it on the upcoming Forza Motorsport 4. Are you ready?

2012 BMW M5

Welcome the all new BMW M5 and this high-performance model uses the BMW F10 5-Series as its foundation to create an ultimate competitor against the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the upcoming Audi S6. As unexpected things happened in the world of high-performance cars, the new BMW M5 lost some of its "Fear Factor" such as the V10 engine and the manual transmission. So, what makes the new M5 an M5?

2012 BMW M5

This is how a "Nerd On A Wire" would feel like and once you yelled "Let's Go By Stretcher", the all new BMW M5 is your stretcher on steroids, I mean, the executive sedan on steroids. On the exterior design, everything was penned from the BMW F10 5-Series except for the M5, it has some of its exclusive details such as a quad exhaust, aggressive front bumper, black kidney grille, exclusive side mirrors, side gills, side sills, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. The new exterior provides a Spartan look and feel to the driver who just can't get enough of this.

2012 BMW M5 interior

The new BMW M5 has an hospitable interior that lies underneath its Spartan exterior. Once you get inside, it feels like you are in control of the fastest executive sedan in the market. Although it may feature an available rear seat entertainment system, BMW iDrive feature, ConnectedDrive, climate control, and loads of technological features, the new BMW M5 offers exclusive interior details such as the BMW M seats, BMW M Leather Steering wheel with some unique stitching on it, and gearshift paddles. You might feel like you're the king of the autobahn once if you sit inside the all new BMW M5.

S63B44 engine

We are very confident that the all new BMW M5 shying away from its "Fear Factor" such as a manual transmission and a big V10 engine. Of course, BMW M's promise that all upcoming models will be equipped with turbocharged engines, unlike Mercedes-Benz's AMG that promises a turbo-only lineup but their portfolio only covers not only turbocharged models but also the most redundant Natural Aspiration models such as the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, and the upcoming SLK55 AMG which features a technology similar to Honda's Variable Cylinder Management. Okay, now onto the F10 BMW M5, this high-performance model is equipped with the new S63B44 engine. This 4.4L V8 TwinPower Turbo engine produces 560PS/6000–7000rpm of power output, 680Nm/1500–5750rpm of torque output, and 0-100kmh in 4.4 seconds. The 7-speed M double clutch transmission with Drivelogic provide fast gear changes and those performance figures are user-defined and save it on the M Drive buttons. The M Servotronic provides more resistance at high speeds, providing maximum precision with the added comfort. Other features that can be highly beneficial to the M5 are the Active M Differential for balance, and M Compound Brakes for the maximum stopping power. The new BMW M5 is proven to be economical thanks to to its regenerative braking system and idling stop function for optimized fuel economy and low CO2 emissions, for a cleaner driving no matter what.

The new BMW M5 offers 8 color variations such as Saphirschwarz metallic, Havanna metallic, Silverstone metallic, Spacegrau metallic, Imperialblau Brillianteffekt metallic, Monte Carlo Blau metallic, Singapur Grau metallic, and Alpinweiß.

My comment:
The all new M5 may have lost some of its BMW Fear Factor to make way of its new twin turbo engine and 7-speed DCT, but this is one of the finest masterpieces BMW M Power created just for keeps but if I have to think that this car is built entirely for businessmen (not the Apprentice, Dragon's Den, Richard Branson, helicopters, or hostile takeovers), dull businessmen who are working from Swindon, like what Richard Hammond says in a Top Gear episode where the Vauxhall VXR8 and HSV Maloo R8 takes place, I say it's fine because some customers might want to spill the new BMW M5 silver or black paint and a hint of wood on the interior but whatever, this how the life the new BMW M5 is meant to be but with the turbo engine, I bet that whoever likes it would be a bad businessman or someone who's not a businessman.

E-Class (W212) vs. 5-Series (F10) vs. A6 (C7 Typ 4G)

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

2011 BMW 5-Series

2012 Audi A6

This was one heck of a "March Madness" for sure. The Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 arrived since March 2009, the BMW 5-Series F10 arrived since March 2010, and the all new Audi A6 (C7 Typ 4G) arrived since March 2011. This was one heck of chronology that those three executive premium mid-size sedans were launched consecutively. CATS Motors already has the W212, Asian Carmakers Corporation already has the F10, and we're still waiting for PGA Cars to bring the all new Audi A6 soon. Either way, those three exceed expectations among German luxury car connoisseurs and their exceptional technology became a leading edge to surpass its predecessors.

In terms of design: I will give the Mercedes-Benz E-Class (W212) 1st place while 2nd place goes for the BMW F10 and 3rd place goes to the all new Audi A6. What can I say?

In terms of performance: BMW 5-Series F10 is my pick while 2nd place goes for the MB E-Class W212 and 3rd goes for the all new Audi A6 (C7 Typ 4G). Why? Let's observe the top of the line models. The BMW 550i can achieve 5 seconds in a 0-100km/h run while the MB E500 reaches 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds and the Audi A6 3.0 TFSI can accumulate 5.5 seconds in the 0-100km/h run.

In terms of pricing: The all new Audi A6 takes the lead while 2nd place goes for the MB E-Class (W212) and 3rd place goes to the BMW 5-Series (F10). Why? Let's take introductory pricing. The Audi A6 2.0 TDI costs 38,500 Euros while the Mercedes-Benz E 200 CDI BlueEfficiency costs 39,835 Euros and the BMW 520d costs 40,350.

It's up to you to decide....

BMW 5-Series Touring -Full Model Change-

The same comfort, performance, and luxury of the BMW F10 5-Series sedan now arrive in a spacious luxury tourer version.

The new BMW 5-Series Touring wagon offers the same level as the sedan with the added space to fit most of your luggage on the rear. Despite wearing the same look as from the sedan counterpart, the new 5-Series Touring sports a distinctive side view that is similar to the BMW 3-Series Touring, but with the added length.

The new BMW 5-Series Touring offers different kinds of engine types such as the 6-cylinder petrol engine (523i, 528i and 535i), 6-cylinder diesel engine (530d) and the entry-level 4-cylinder diesel engine (520d). Most engines are Euro5 compliant and approved for emission standards. To have owners getting to know more about this car, a choice of a 6-speed manual or the 8-speed Steptronic transmission makes it more intellectual for the owner to see how good is the new 5-Series Touring when it comes to its performance.

My thoughts about the 5-Series Touring:
Expect this tourer never coming to the North American market because of its slow sales and superseded by the 5-Series Gran Turismo fastback, but what about the Philippines? Nope, I think it is too blurry for Asian Carmakers Corporation to sell this touring version of the new 5-Series. With the base 523i costs 5,590,000 Pesos, my predicted price for the 523i Touring will be about 5,900,000 Pesos.

When comparing the base 523i Touring to the base E 200 CGI Estate, the results can be a possible shocker. The pricing goes to the MB E-Class Estate but on the performance side, the BMW 5-Series Touring wins.

In my point of view, this car is the betting choice for celebrities, politicians, and famous athletes.

BMW 5-Series -Full Model Change-

BMW F10 5-Series
The 5-Series Gran Turismo launched from last year truly given BMW fans a glimpse of the next-generation 5-Series, from the outside to the inside. Now, to bring this vision into reality, the BMW 5-Series received a much-awaited full model change that brings out the seduction within the reach of successful executives from around the globe.

On the exterior, the new 5-Series used BMW's new design flow happened to the latest 7-Series, and it brings out most of its sexiness to attract appealing drivers. On the inside, executives take advantage of the technological features of the new 5-Series, from the leather seats, climate control, next-generation iDrive, and more technological features offered within reach. When compared to such rivals as the Toyota Crown, Hyundai Genesis, Nissan Fuga, Kia K7, Audi A6, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the 5-Series has a major strategy to take these rivals to the dead zone, if only this car has a chance.

A choice of a four-cylinder diesel engine, six-cylinder diesel engine, six-cylinder gasoline engine, or the new TwinPower turbo V8 engine is the main brain of the BMW 5-Series, when customers has a choice between ecology or passion on the Autobahn. Not only that, there are other performance enhancers to take advantage of this new form, such as the brake energy regeneration, 8-speed automatic transmission, power steering, auto start stop function, and air vent control for dynamics against emissions. For safety, the new 5-Series is equipped with the finest features such as the active cruise control, camera systems, lane change warning, night vision, and an emergency call in the face of an emergency.

My thoughts about the 5-Series:
This car is untouchable in the eyes of the rivals, but touchable in the eyes of the Bimmer fans. The new 5-Series is classy on the outside, innovative on the inside, to bring executives' emotions released for its sexualized form, stronger performance, and resourceful technology. The secret of this new generation executive medium-sized sedan is best to be kept secret not only from the owners, but from the brand behind this wonderful machine. There are more models, including the spacious Touring variant, and the E63 AMG's worst enemy (a.k.a. M5) coming soon. As for that, they will have to make do with the sedan variant.

BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo

Most beamer fanatics are always asking all over the world "Could that be the next-generation BMW 5-Series?” Moreover, the answer from car fanatics everywhere is "Not sure. But be patient.” To understand if this is the next BMW 5-Series that should be arriving soon, the Bavarian automobile manufacturer created the other 5-Series that is identical to the X6 crossover utility vehicle.

For the solution to beamer fanatics everywhere, the 5-Series Gran Turismo is the decider when will the next-generation 5-Series arrive. For its concept, the word Gran Turismo (not to be confused about the Gran Turismo video game from the Play station) simplifies the sportiness of the sports car, the beauty of the luxury car, and the versatility of a sports utility vehicle, all rolled into one absolute Bavarian crossover. From the outside, you can see the front side, which gives BMW fans the first clue of the upcoming 5-Series in the future, but to add fun of it, the long nose and the coupe-like lines shaped the 5-Series Gran Turismo into something more elegant and sophisticated than its X6 brother.

From the muscular exterior, the interior of the 5-Series Gran Turismo is very sophisticated from top to bottom, even a high-level executive would take a gander on its true color. Best of all, the 5-Series Gran Turismo's monitor is not just for navigation, movies, and music, but also for surfing the internet everywhere. Consider yourself taking a gander of your favorite internet content on your car, even when you are traveling at high speeds.

The 5-Series Gran Turismo carries three different variants since it was launched, a 3.0-litre straight-six TwinPower Turbo engine, with VALVETRONIC , a V8 TwinPower Turbo engine and High Precision Injection, and the fuel efficient 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine with 3rd-generation common-rail direct fuel injection achieves a fuel economy of over 18.5km/L. All variants packed with the 8-speed automatic transmission (found on the latest BMW 760Li).

The 5-Series Gran Turismo is equipped with the standard Dynamic Drive Control that controls the behavior of this vehicle. When the Dynamic Drive Control combined with the optional Adaptive Drive system, the 5-Series Gran Turismo creates a perfect harmony for the superior suspension system. For the driver, the DDC provides three different programs, which are suitable for this machine: NORMAL, SPORT and SPORT+. Take note that the interference of the Dynamic Stability Control reduced on the powerful SPORT+ mode, which the driver switched it on the Dynamic Drive Control. Also available for the 5-Series Gran Turismo is the Integral Active Steering that takes control of all wheels depending on various situations on the road.

For the convenience and safety for the passenger and the driver, the 5-Series Gran Turismo provides the iDrive system that allows the driver to choose his/her options while handling this 5-Series Gran Turismo on the road. In addition, the heads-up display shows the status of the 5-Series Gran Turismo and the road. On nighttime, the night vision can be a driver's best friend. At dark roads, this technology is built to seek out road signs and pedestrians everywhere and how driver acts depend on his/her behavior. When the speed limits are just ahead, do not try to left behind with its speed limit display that seeks out incoming speed limits on the road and it is all up to the driver to follow it. With so many safety features such as the Cruise Control with Stop & Go, a High-Beam Assistant, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Side View, Top View, and a back-up camera, there is a harmony between the peace of mind and a pleasant afternoon for everyone.

You are welcome to be part of this new age crossover fastback created by the premier Bavarian automaker.
