HE'S BACK! Pacquiao wins fight against Rios

"I dedicate this victory to the Filipino people. My time is not over yet!"
After twelve gruelling rounds in The Venetian, Macau, it looks like Manny Pacquiao, the fighting pride of the Philippines, won the match against rival Brandon Rios by unanimous decision! I don't believe it! Two former champs come face to face in the gaming mecca of Asia, Macau, and over the course of the fight, looks like the two fighters are in the middle of crossfire of punches. In the end, there's only one person who proved that his time is not over yet.

That, ladies and gents, is Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. CONGRATULATIONS to the Pacman! You have proven that all good Filipinos still have the fighting chance in desperate times!

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special

The Day of The Doctor

For the first time in the history of Doctor Who, the highly anticipated Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special, titled The Day of The Doctor, gets a global simulcast, meaning the whole world witnessed the most exciting day any Whovian would be blessed for. Matt Smith as The Eleventh Doctor, David Tennant as The Tenth Doctor, Jenna Coleman as Clara, and Billie Piper as Rose were on the TV special as well as the special participation of veteran actor John Hurt as the mysterious War Doctor. You may remember him at the end of Series 7 but anyway, the other Doctor, 400 years ago, finally makes an appearance in the special.

The most exciting part of the special is the "Gallifrey Stands" scene where the three Doctors trying to communicate with the Time Lords from Gallifrey as they'll use their TARDISes to freeze Gallifrey in a single moment of time. What surprised in this scene is the surprise teaser of the next Doctor, Peter Capaldi. Yes, really. A surprise teaser of the next Doctor who's going to replace Matt Smith on Christmas!

Another big surprise is the surprise appearance of former Doctor Who lead actor, Tom Baker, who played as the curator of the museum The Doctor and Clara are in. Surprises, surprises. How this special ended? When all the Doctors showed up at the ending! Quote?

At last I know where I’m going…Where I’ve always been going…Home.
Classic Doctors in the 50th? Check!

Tom Baker in the special? Yes.

Peter Capaldi? Surprise teaser.

But still, the 50th special, which is now the world's trending topic in the minds of Whovians, serves as the ultimate DW experience ever witnessed. The alien shape-shifting Zygons does add some dramatic touch, though.

In case we're in a middle of watching the TV special, the BBC posted another one of Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special about what if former Doctor Whos Peter Davidson, Sylvester McCoy, Colin Baker, and Paul McGann wanted to reboot The Five Doctors special. It's worth humorous for this web exclusive clip but still as what Jenna Coleman said...

"You will always my favorite..."

You guys are too late for that but still, happy 50th anyway.

Also, the actor who played The War Doctor, John Hurt, tweeted from his official Twitter @WithJohnHurt:

"Had a lovely time @BFI with The Doctor @bbcdoctorwho #DayoftheDoctor #savetheday #DoctorWho #DoctorWho50th pic.twitter.com/RfIOFtCrJb"

In case you missed it, Ten and Eleven, Matt Smith and David Tennant, guest starred in The Graham Norton Show.

In a totally irrelevant way, while in the middle of DW50th viewing, BBC posted a teaser video of the next season of SHERLOCK with the hashtag #SherlockLives. SHERLOCK LIVES!

And now, the teaser of the upcoming 2013 Christmas Special, the Eleventh Doctor's final journey. Silence will fall...

I'm very glad to say that the 50th Anniversary special is probably the best Doctor Who adventure I have ever witnessed. A global simulcast, is this what the whole Whovian community worldwide wanted to experience it first-hand? Might be silly but it's for the greater purposes. I have to thank my family because if I haven't watched this once-in-a-lifetime DW moment, I don't know what's gonna happen to me but since I watched it, I will savor this moment...forever. (sigh)

But now, the fall of the Eleventh Doctor...is this Christmas. Rest now Whovians. Christmas Day beckons you...and the feels will begin again.

Silence will fall...

About the MLP: FiM Series 4 premiere

"I can't stop thinking about the chest in the Tree of Harmony. 6 keys, 6 locks...hmmmm, I wonder what it can all mean"

Fans, newcomers, and bronies alike were anticipated to see the much awaited series four premiere of the hit TV cartoon series My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. This season opener was a two-part, back-to-back, episode where the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle must balance her new duties and her friendship with the other ponies.

In the premiere, Princesses Celestia and Luna are missing while in the middle of preparing for the Summer Sun Celebration in Canterlot and the Everfree Forest is taking over Equestria. It's up to Princess Twilight and her friends to save the day once more. To make this premiere a little more complicated to the viewers, Discord, the spirit of chaos, makes a comeback in the premiere.

Anyway, I'm not gonna tell about the whole two-parter but there's a mystery worth solving over the course of this season: 6 keys, 6 locks. That's right. 6 keys, 6 locks. This is a new quest for Twilight Sparkle and the gang to find it as Season 4 progresses. New friends, new enemies, new adventures. What more can you ask for?

Anakbayan Seattle's SIKLAB

if you've been busy learning Philippine history at your school, you did have a knack of knowledge about Andres Bonifacio, one of the greatest Filipino revolutionisits who established the Katipunan that led the revolt against the Spaniards in 1896.

November 30th 2013 marks the 150th birthday of the great Katipunero and Anakbayan Seattle, one of the most notable Fil-Am communities at the Northwest USA had a little tribute for him.

This event is called SIKLAB. Siklab is Tagalog for "spark" or "ignite" and like the namesake, it ignites the honor of Bonifacio's revolutionary spirit with a cultural showcase.

I was amazed that my little sister, Cecille, kindly lend us tickets for the show, each costing around $10 but whatever. Anyway, me and my family are in.

Here's the schedule. As you can see, my sister is taking part of the Katipunan Founding Speech along with Anakbayan Seattle's Derek Dizon.

The members giving us top 10 reasons why Bonifacio matters to us.

That man here is responsible for the Bonifacio fan arts by mixing his favorite cartoon characters with some Bonifacio twist.

In the stage, the man from Alay ng Kultuta showcased his Captain America fan art which he calls it "Captain Fil-Am". Get it? Filipino-American. Dual citizenship pays off...

After that, member Angela Pierce told us about "Mestiza" and after that...

Members Enrico Abadesco and Richard Arcelo, better known as Kounter Balance, are performing the song Midnight. Here's the clip:

After the performance, the members are taking highlights about the Superstorm Yolanda/Haiyan and the chronology during the aftermath of the superstorm that hit the Visayas region this month.

Then it was followed by a pledge drive where the audiences donate money to the Task Force Haiyan, dedicated to help Yolanda victims.

After the pledge, then it's the turn of Art of Verse to do some performance.

And now, it's the Katipunero Founding Speech as presented by my sister Cecille and Anakbayan Seattle member Derek.

After the speech, it's the step choreography as leas by member Celeste Duran.

After the choreography, the Kounter Balance return to perform Another Day, Another Dollar.

And that's it. That concludes the Anakbayan Seattle's SIKLAB event. I did enjoy being part of the cultural showcase igniting tribute to the legendary revolutionist that send the Filipinos fighting against the Spaniards. Not only it honors his spirit but also highlight Filipino youth that are still continuing his legacy.

Oh yeah. Sone hashtags left so you can tweet and post about the event.

SUPERSTORM YOLANDA: Death toll tops 5,200

The death toll from Superstorm Yolanda has been risen to over 5,200, making it one of the Philippines' most deadliest natural disasters. The only thing that stands in the path is  a tsunami triggered by a magnitude 7.9 earthquake in 1976 that killed between 5,000 and 8,000 people on the southern island of Mindanao. UN warns that 1.5 million children will face malnutrition.
