The Philippine National Police says they will not stop looking for Pastor Apollo Quiboloy inside the KOJC despite the 'cease and desist' order of the Davao City RTC.

- Six were killed and dozens hurt as a wave of Russian strikes hit key energy targets in Ukraine.

- The World Health Organization sets out plans to curb the spread of mpox.

- Four privately trained astronauts prepare to test a new type of space suit.

- The Makabayan Bloc unveiled the list of their 2025 midterm election contenders. The list includes Jerome Adonis, Danilo Ramos, PISTON's Mimi Doringo, Mody Flranda, Ronnel Arambulo, Teddy Casino, GABRIELA's Liza Maza, Alyn Andamo, Rep. France Casto, and Rep. Arlene Brosas.

- The PH Department of Health mulls creating a new online constitution system against mpox.

- The DILG is once again urging Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to turn himself and face his cases. The Malacañang insisted that it was only following the law in Quiboloy's case. The Philippine National Police is studying other cases that can be filed against the KOJC.

- Israel and Hezbollah forces exchange fire in the biggest clash in 10 months. Israel says it carried out the pre-emptive strike in Lebanon.

- Telegram app CEO Pavel Durov is arrested by French police at an airport north of Paris. Mr Durov was detained after his private jet had landed at Le Bourget Airport, according to reports. The app is accused of failure to cooperate with law enforcement over drug trafficking, child sexual content, and fraud. Telegram has previously denied having insufficient moderation.

- ICYMI: Two astronauts stranded in space will return to Earth on a SpaceX ship next year, according to NASA.

- The new Shutokou Battle street-racing video game is coming to PC via Steam this 2025.

- BTS member Suga issued his second apology for his DUI incident.

- Fanatics refiled its lawsuit against Arizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. late last week, expanding it to include fraud allegations against his father, Marvin Harrison Sr.

NTT IndyCar Series 2024 - Bitnile.com Grand Prix of Portland

The Pacific Northwest is the next stop for the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series with the Bitnile.com Grand Prix of Portland, held at the Portland International Raceway. What a way to end summer than intense racing action at the Pacific Northwest.

The start of the race saw misery for Scott Dixon as he crashed after being nudged by Pietro Fittpaldi. As a result, Fittipaldi got penalized for unavoidable contact. Lap 23 saw Fittipaldi and Conor Daly get into a first-corner mishap. Halfway through the race with Will Power, Alex Palou, and Josef Newgarden are hunting each other for the top, Lap 62 saw Romain Grosjean experience some power interruption following a spin and if that wasn't enough, he got collided by Christian Rasmussen. However, Grosjean's back in the running.

After what's known to be a chaotic fight in the Pacific Northwest, Will Power wins the Bitnile.com Grand Prix of Portland with Alex Palou finishing 2nd and Josef Newgarden finishing 3rd.

With Portland behind them, Palou is leading with 484 points, 54 points ahead of Power, and Colton Herta is in 3rd with 417 points. The title fight is too close to call.

The NTT IndyCar Series is coming to Wisconsin for the Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250. This two-part race will be held from August 31st to September 1st, 2024.

2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - Michelin GT Challenge at VIR

With three races left this season, the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship continues with the Michelin GT Challenge at VIR, a race reserved for GT cars going all-out as the climax draws near.

The #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 of Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow has dominated the GTD PRO class of this race while the #32 Korthoff/Preston Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Mikael Grenier and Kenton Koch wins the GTD class.

The 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship continues with the penultimate race of the season, the Tirerack.com Battle of the Bricks, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from September 19 to 22, 2024.

F1 2024: Heineken Dutch Grand Prix

The F1 2024 season resumes after the summer break with the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort. Will there be any unexpected moments for fans to savor? Let's find out.

Max Verstappen's home turf, Zandvoort, saw his homecoming race spoiled by McLaren's Lando Norris, who took the pole and went on to win the race. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished third to round out the podium.

After the Heineken Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, Max Verstappen leads the F1 2024 season with 295 points. Lando Norris is in second place with 225 points, and Charles Leclerc is in third with 192 points.

The next race is at Monza for the Pirelli Gran Premio D'Italia this September 1st, 2024.

F1 Academy 2024 - Zandvoort

After a long summer break, the second F1 Academy season continues in Zandvoort, just moments before the F1 2024's Dutch Grand Prix.

For this season's Dutch campaign, they've selected Nina Gademan as their wild card entry representing this race's sponsor; The Female Quotient. The Female Quotient is the first female-founded media and experimental brand featuring the largest community of women in business.

Race 1 of the F1 Academy season was rescheduled to the same day as the Dutch Grand Prix due to bad weather. This is the first time in the history of the F1 Academy that a race has been rescheduled for this reason. The drivers will now have to face two races in one day.

Following Doriane Pin's penalization due to a false start, Race 1 saw Abbi Pulling net another win followed by Nerea Marti and Maya Weug. Amazingly, the Wild Card Entry for Zandvoort finished 4th. In the final race, meanwhile, following Gademan's penalization for collision with another driver, Doriane Pin delivered a revengeful pole-to-win result, beating the likes of Weug and Pulling.

The next race is in Singapore from September 20-22, 2024.

2024 NASCAR Cup Series - Coke Zero Sugar 400

It's the penultimate race of the regular season as the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series returns to Daytona for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 where chaotic moments led to the unexpected ending no one saw it coming.

Shortly before the race began, it was announced that Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen, who made his name in NASCAR by winning the Chicago street race last season, is now officially on the roster for the 2025 season, representing the Trackhouse team.

Long story short but anyway, the race. As Josh Berry won Stage 1, Stage 2 witnessed The Big One on Lap 61 when Ross Chastain got turned in front of the field in 8th and triggered a multi-car mishap followed by Austin Cindric sent Kyle Larson spinning on Lap 78. As Joey Logano won Stage 2, the finale saw John Hunter Nemechek spinning, another Big One on Lap 153, and the red flag-triggering incident where Josh Berry flipped his car. As the overtime triggered, the unexpected happened.
