GOAT (The Movie)

Sony Pictures Animation, the studio that brought you the Spider-Verse and last year's megahit K-POP Demon Hunters, joined forces with NBA superstar Stephen Curry to create a coming-of-age animated sports movie about a little goat who will show us how it's done, done, done. Get it?

GOAT (The Movie)
GOAT (The Movie)

"GOAT" is a coming-of-age sports story about a young goat named Will Harris. He gains the opportunity of a lifetime by joining the renowned Roarball team, the Vineland Thorns. This development does not sit well with Jett Fillmore, a star player who is starting to show signs of aging. Despite the challenges and differences, Will proves to the Thorns that they have what it takes to win the championship.

Although it may not reach the same level of success as the studios' top works like Spider-Verse and KPDH, this fun family movie delivers an important message: it's not about how big you are, but how good you are, even in the world of basketball. While it may feel like a mashup of Zootopia and Space Jam, the themes of coming-of-age, determination, teamwork, and morale make this film unique.

If you love the Spider-Verse and K-POP Demon Hunters, but you want an inspirational sports movie that touches, consider watching GOAT. From start to finish, this is what it (ahem) sounds like. No more hiding. This animated sports movie is shining like it was born to be. Oops. Sorry.

Solo Mio

Kevin James discovers the meaning of self-love in this rather unorthodox romantic-comedy movie about him going on a honeymoon by himself.

Solo Mio
Solo Mio

Solo Mio, a rather unorthodox rom-com movie, is about a man (played by Kevin James) whose wedding in Rome ended with him being dumped at the altar. Coping with his tragic heartbreak, he decides to go on a honeymoon...by himself.

While it may not be a modern-day equivalent of "Roman Holiday", the theme of self-love depicted in this movie focuses on healing from profound heartbreak. Although it carries a melancholic tone for a romantic comedy, the journey toward healing is definitely worthwhile.

If you've been dumped on your wedding day and want to embrace self-love, consider watching this movie. It offers an idea on how to overcome heartbreak in a big way.

Send Help (2026 film)

If you and your boss were stranded on a deserted island, who would be in charge now? This psychological survival horror film from the mind of Sam Raimi will demonstrate who’s really in control.

Send Help (2026 film)
Send Help (2026 film)

From the visionary behind horror classics like The Evil Dead and Drag Me to Hell comes Send Help, a psychological survival horror film featuring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien. In this story, McAdams plays an office worker who is growing weary of taking orders from her boss, portrayed by O'Brien. However, after surviving a terrifying plane crash, both characters find themselves stranded on a deserted island, turning the tables on their dynamic.

Raimi has done it again with his latest work. This psychological horror masterpiece explores the insanity that afflicts two characters after they survive a plane crash on a deserted island. You can think of this film as a blend of "Cast Away" and "The Shining," providing a chilling new twist on the classic "stuck on a deserted island" trope. It goes to show that going psycho is the last thing you'll ever gonna do when you're stuck on a deserted island with someone you don't like the most.

If you enjoyed the classic horror films by Sam Raimi, give this new movie a try. You'll discover who is in charge now.

Mercy (2026 movie)

In this dystopian action thriller, actor Chris Pratt pleads not guilty before a highly advanced AI judge, as his character unravels the true meaning of justice in the age of artificial intelligence.

Mercy (2026 movie)
Mercy (2026 movie)

In the action thriller movie Mercy, actor Chris Pratt (from The Super Mario Bros. Movie) portrays a detective who is on trial for the alleged murder of his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced AI judge, played by Rebecca Ferguson, or he will face execution.

Unfortunately, this movie is incredibly relevant in today's society, as we all navigate the age of artificial intelligence, where the true meaning of justice can often feel blurred. Beyond its relevance, this high-stakes action thriller offers a gripping, edge-of-your-seat experience as the main character races against time to prove his innocence. It's almost as thrilling as watching 24 because in here, time is the biggest enemy.

With a blend of relevance and thrills, you'll only need to watch this movie once to understand what justice feels like in the age of artificial intelligence. Looks like the winter 2026 movie season's getting a lot intense with this action thriller.

Return to Silent Hill

Don't adjust your radio sets. That bizarre radio signal's a sign that the latest Silent Hill movie has arrived in cinemas. Are you prepared to return to the fog-stricken, cursed town you know?

Return to Silent Hill
Return to Silent Hill

Return to Silent Hill is a horror movie that uses Silent Hill 2, one of the all-time horror game greats, as its base. Like the game itself, this movie centers on a man named James Sunderland, who ventures to the fog-stricken, cursed town called Silent Hill in search of Mary, the woman he loved who passed away a few years ago. As he ventures through this nightmarish hellhole, he will soon learn the truth.

Almost everything from Silent Hill 2 is featured in this film, including the characters and the monsters that haunt this living hell, especially the iconic Red Pyramid Thing that torments James. Although some parts of the game didn't make the cut, this movie showcases the terrifying mentality it possesses. From the moment the story begins, the terror begins, and with countless plot twists and flashbacks aplenty, this is what mentality feels like. Lost in the fog but all for the truth.

If you enjoyed playing Silent Hill 2, whether it's the original from 2001 or the 2024 remake, you might want to check out the latest movie—well, almost. This film demonstrates that the Silent Hill series is still alive, and we can expect more terrifying experiences from the franchise. While it may not be a great horror movie, it's easy to immerse yourself in a constant fog of nightmarish thoughts from start to finish.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

28 Years Later continues with the second part of this story, picking up where the anticlimactic ending left off.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

Nia DaCosta is directing the sequel, titled "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple", which features Ralph Fiennes (known for the "Harry Potter" and "James Bond" series), Alfie Wlliams, Jack O'Connell, and others. This film picks up just moments after the gripping ending of the first installment. In "The Bone Temple", viewers learn that the infected, as Dr. Kelson (played by Fiennes) indicates, are no longer the greatest threat to survival.

For whatever reason, this sequel is even more grueling and terrifying than the previous film. It is the must-watch horror movie of the season. Those who enjoyed the first part last year can eagerly anticipate this unforgiving continuation, where "fear is the new faith."

With such terror, carnage, and drama blended into one, this continuation of 28 Years Later is a horror movie at its peak, just like the rest of the 28 Days Later series.

Greenland 2: Migration

Greenland, the disaster film starring Gerard Butler that was released during the pandemic, returns with a sequel. It is unprecedented for a disaster movie to have a sequel that addresses the aftermath of the disaster.

Greenland 2: Migration
Greenland 2: Migration

Set five years after the asteroid strike that devastated the world, "Greenland 2: Migration" follows the Garrity family as they leave the safety of their bunker in Greenland. They embark on a challenging journey through a shattered world, searching for a new habitat for humanity. Their migration path is fraught with difficulties, including the collapse of human society, powerful earthquakes, deadly radiation storms, and another wave of meteor strikes.

This sequel to the pandemic-era disaster movie explores the human experience following a deadly asteroid strike. It highlights the intense drama as the struggle for a new habitat confronts formidable challenges that test survival instincts and deepen the bonds not only within the Garrity family but also among the other survivors.

Never in the history of disaster movies to have a sequel like this. Greenland 2: Migration is the sequel that highlights humanity in the aftermath of the extinction-level disaster. If you've watched the first Greenland movie during your quarantine days, now's your chance to watch the sequel in cinemas for real. You'll get to experience what the aftermath feels like.

Anaconda (2025 movie)

If you're the kind of guy trying to remake a late 1990's monster movie like Anaconda, you wanted the remake to be as good as the original. However, as demonstrated in this 2025 reboot, things are not going well in what's known to be the "biggest" comedy event of the season.

Anaconda (2025 movie)
Anaconda (2025 movie)

Jack Black (A Minecraft Movie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man) star in what's known to be the "biggest" comedy movie of the season about how to reboot the Anaconda movie.

In this movie, two friends are driven by their lifelong dream to reboot the classic 1997 monster action film, Anaconda. They travel to the Amazon rainforest to recreate this iconic movie. However, their plans are thrown into chaos when a real anaconda appears, turning their dream project into a terrifying fight for survival. How difficult could it be?

That's the key point. How difficult could it be?! While the rampaging anaconda reminds us of the original movie being rebooted, this action-comedy is all about satirizing movie reboots. Many reboots attempt to replicate the look and feel of the originals, but often fall short. However, the 2025 Anaconda movie serves as a reminder that making a reboot is not as glamorous as it appears. Still, with its hilarious references to other films and its slapstick toilet humor, creating a movie that jokes about reboots has never been so entertaining.

What a way to end the year 2025 with what's known to be the only comedy movie event of the season. An action comedy movie that satirizes movie reboots like Anaconda would be your last movie you'll ever gonna see and laugh until the year ends.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants

We've watched SpongeBob and Patrick journey through Shell City to retrieve King Neptune's crown in his movie debut. Later, they teamed up with others to go to the surface and confront a rogue pirate who possesses the Krabby Patty formula. After that, SpongeBob and Patrick entered a 3D adventure, traveling to the ends of the sea to find SpongeBob's pet snail, Gary. The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants is the fourth film in Nickelodeon's SpongeBob universe. In this latest movie mayhem, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter a sinister pirate ghost known as The Flying Dutchman, voiced by Mark Hamill (Star Wars series), which leads them to The Underworld. This movie features a theme song, Big Guy, by singer Ice Spice.

While this movie may not be as large in scale as previous SpongeBob films, it delves into the true motives of The Flying Dutchman, a recurring character in the SpongeBob universe. Fans have grown accustomed to The Flying Dutchman's shenanigans since his debut in a Halloween episode several years ago, but this film reveals the Dutchman's origins.

In classic SpongeBob fashion, the movie is packed with hilarious jokes and gags that fans will love. Even with the Underworld’s spooky undertones, SpongeBob enthusiasts are sure to find plenty to laugh at throughout the film.

The SpongeBob universe is one heck of an undersea riot for two and a half decades, and this latest movie proves that our super-absorbent pal and the denizens of Bikini Bottom are here to stay. So, get your butts out of your homes and into the cinemas to watch SpongeBob's latest movie escapade. Oh, and don't get yourself some butt cramps like Patrick.

Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third installment of James Cameron's Avatar universe, continues the ongoing struggle of the Human-Na'vi Jake Sully (played by Sam Worthington) and his family as he confronts an ongoing war not just against corrupt humans but also rival Na'vi factions vying for Pandora.

This installment explores the nuances of the Na’vi that have not been delved into within the Avatar universe. It presents a conflict between different Na’vi factions, along with humans, as they vie for power on Pandora. This battle represents a significant turning point in the franchise.

Controversial the storytelling is, the classic Avatar visual spectacle lives on. The stunning visual effects that championed the Avatar series since the first movie live on in this third chapter, which promises to be a must-watch of the holiday season.

Return to Pandora with this third chapter of James Cameron's Avatar universe that is going to be a huge turning point for the franchise.

Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise
Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise

Starring Rikito Itagaki and Tomoya Nakamura, the movie adaptation of the Peleliu manga brings the life and struggle of a soldier named Tamaru to life on the big screen.

Set a year before the end of the Second World War, Tamaru, a Japanese soldier, was an aspiring manga artist who was assigned to write down the final, heroic scenes of his fallen comrades for their bereaved families as a "merit clerk". That is, until the Japanese forces were outnumbered by the US forces invading Peleliu. For Tamaru, the Peleliu island he set foot on becomes a living hell.

True to the manga's roots, don't let their cuteness fool you; this movie depicts the life-and-death struggle of a young Japanese soldier on the island of Peleliu. The storytelling is more than enough to give viewers the emotions worth the box of tissues because, let's be honest, you can really cry in moments that showcase the dramatic color of this movie adaptation.

If you want to watch an anime movie that will make you cry, consider this adaptation of the Peleliu manga. Be sure to have a box of tissues or a handkerchief nearby.

Rental Family

Brendan Fraser, known for his roles in George of the Jungle and The Mummy, returns to the big screen in his most dramatic role in this heartwarming family movie that showcases love needs no translation even in a foreign country.

Rental Family
Rental Family

Brendan Fraser stars in "Rental Family," a heartwarming drama about an American actor living in Tokyo who works for a Japanese "rental family" company, taking on various roles. As he immerses himself in this new experience, he begins to connect with his new built-in family.

This film debuted at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival and is centered on themes of connection, belonging, and the quiet beauty of human relationships. It has received an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes. With such human-centric themes, the film has the potential to compete in next year's Academy Awards due to its "artisan pick" status.

Because this movie has the potential to compete in the Oscars, this is considered a must-watch movie of the season. This movie showcases that the meaning of love and family needs no translation.

Wicked For Good

The epic conclusion to last year's megahit musical movie, Wicked, has arrived. The fates and destinies of Glinda and Elphaba are ultimately decided...for good.

Wicked For Good
Wicked For Good

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are back, reprising their iconic roles as Glinda and Elphaba in the much-anticipated conclusion to last year's smash hit musical, Wicked. In this final chapter, titled Wicked For Good, the fates and destinies of the two characters are ultimately decided. As Glinda becomes the symbol of peace in the land of Oz, Elphaba, known as The Wicked Witch of the West, unleashes chaos. As the two face off, their destinies will be determined... for good. This movie also stars Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Jonathan Bailey as Prince Fiyero, Ethan Slater as Boq, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose, among others.

When the first Wicked movie came out last year, moviegoers didn't expect a second part to be coming soon, and here we are, with the long-awaited conclusion to last year's blockbuster, which picks up moments after the end of the first movie. There's nothing to explain about. Still, with a new setlist of songs in this gravity-defying final chapter, moviegoers will laugh, cry, and sing their hearts out as they witness the decisive moments between Glinda and Elphaba.

While it may not be the best movie of 2025—since the first Demon Slayer film holds that title—it is certainly a worthy contender for an Oscar and fits well into the category of an "artisan pick." From beginning to end, being part of the Wicked experience is truly a significant honor.

If you enjoyed last year's Wicked movie, now's your chance to witness the final chapter and be changed...for good.

Scarlet (2025 film)

Mamoru Hosoda, the visionary behind the animated classic Mirai, returns with his latest work, a must-watch anime movie of the season.

Scarlet (2025 film)
Scarlet (2025 film)

Mamoru Hosoda's latest masterpiece, "Scarlet", made its debut at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and is a must-watch movie for the autumn season. In this film, Scarlet struggles to avenge her father's death and finds herself plunged into the Otherworld, where the spirits of the dead wander aimlessly. There, she encounters a nurse named Hijiri. After learning that Claudius, her uncle who is responsible for her father's death and for stealing the kingdom from him, is hidden within the Otherworld, Scarlet faces a critical choice between justice and vengeance.

Another visionary masterpiece in the making since Mirai, Scarlet showcases a unique storytelling approach that blurs the lines between time and personal loyalty, as well as the path between vendetta and justice. This originality makes it feel like a blend of The Lord of the Rings anime movie, The War of the Rohirrim, and the universe of Makoto Shinkai. The film is gripping, emotional, and intense, revealing the true essence of this latest Mamoru Hosoda masterpiece.

If you loved Mirai, you should check out Scarlet. It's one of the must-watch anime movies not just for the entire autumn season but for the entire year 2025.

The Running Man (2025 film)

"In 2025, the best men don't run for president. They run for their lives". That's what the description best sums up about the Stephen King masterpiece, The Running Man. Because this is 2025, the year in which The Running Man was set, it's high time for the world to witness The Running Man in this movie remake, penned by Edgar Wright.

The Running Man (2025 film)
The Running Man (2025 film)

Glen Powell stars as the new Ben Richards in the remake of the 1987 action thriller based on a Stephen King novel. Set in a dystopian future, Ben Richards, who has been banned from working, seeks a way to lift his family out of poverty. The only option available to him is to participate in the deadliest game show on television: The Running Man. As he becomes embroiled in this deadly manhunt broadcast worldwide, Richards uncovers the dark truth behind the show. While improving his family's situation is his top priority, he soon shifts his focus to bringing down The Network, the powerful organization that orchestrated the game.

This movie also stars Josh Brolin, Colman Domingo (Fear the Walking Dead), Emilia Jones, and others.

Compared to the quote-laden original, this remake is like Squid Game on steroids. Seeing the new Ben Richards blending through the surroundings while engaging in "fight or flight" situations against Network mercenaries showcases the explosive action this new version delivers.

The exhilarating thrills of the new Running Man movie make it a must-watch action film for the season. However, it's the underlying relevance that truly resonates. The portrayal of The Network manipulating the world with "fake news," which deviates sharply from the truth, feels all too familiar in today’s society. With the misuse of AI leading to the spread of fake news, we are witnessing the resulting chaos and discord.

From its chilling relevance to exhilarating action thrills, this movie will have you racing to your nearest cinema to catch the new version of The Running Man. Put on your running shoes because this is going to be the most extreme escape you’ve ever experienced.

Just keep running, man.

Predator: Badlands

The Predator franchise is back in cinemas with the latest installment, where a different kind of Predator becomes the Prey.

Predator: Badlands
Predator: Badlands

Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who did his work in the other Predator installment titled PREY, Predator: Badlands features a different kind of Predator as it embarks through hostile territories to prove its worth with the help of an android named Thia, played by Elle Fanning.

This Predator stands apart from those in previous films as it is struggling for survival and relies solely on traditional hunting techniques. This makes the movie a straightforward action-adventure that feels distinct from earlier Predator installments. It's intense, and in a sense, it serves as a baptism by fire in the Predator's world.

While not as good as the other Predator movies, Badlands serves as a rite of passage for fans who want to see how an inexperienced Predator fights back to earn its name.

First hunt, last chance. Enjoy watching this newest Predator movie and discover the true meaning of survival.
