The big scoop today...

- Even with Toyota's TS040 pole position and Porsche's return to Le Mans via the 919 Hybrid, it seems that Audi is still the king of 24 Heures du Mans after a 1-2 finish with the #2 R18 e-tron and the #1 R18 e-tron. The winning #2 R18 e-tron was driven by Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer for the LMP1 category. In the LMP2 category, a class win goes to the Jota Sport Zytek Z11SN-Nissan driven by Simon Dolan, Harry Tincknell and Oliver Turvey while in the GTE-Pro class, winner goes to the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 driven by Gianmaria Bruni, Toni Vilander and Giancarlo Fisichella.

- Mercedes-Benz details their upcoming AMG 4.0L V8 BiTurbo engine to be applied on their next sportscar.

- Pixar announced their next animated film set for Summer 2015 showing called Inside Out. It highlights the emotions from the inside of the mind of an 11-year-old girl.

- Mighty Med actress Paris Berelc (the actress who played superheroine Skylar Storm from the hit Disney XD action comedy series) spent her Saturday at the 9th annual Winning the Race Against Childhood Cancer at the Kenneth Hahn Park, LA.

- There's a report stating that the upcoming Phineas and Ferb Star Wars special will be airing this late July 2014. This special will see Phineas, Ferb, and the rest paying tribute to the Star Wars movies.

- Nickelodeon's hit cartoon show, Sanjay and Craig, gets renewed for another season!

- The educational series, The Magic School Bus, gets a reboot as a Netflix original series under the title: The Magic School Bus 360°.

- Cultural experts from the Philippines warned that they should not use the faces of national heroes as labels in alcoholic drinks.

- There's an article about how much do high school and college students need for daily allowance. The breakdown of student's allowance is explained.

- Yesterday, a policeman in Talisay City, Batangas, was shot to death while he was bringing his kids to school.

- Justice Secretary Leila de Lima denies sex tape rumors, saying "it's fake".

FIFA World Cup 2014 - Day 4

It's the 4th day of the FIFA WORLD CUP Brasil and those three games occurred on that game were proven to be quite an upside for the spectators. Two European countries; the Switzerland and France, emerged dominant against their oppositions as well as Latin America's Argentina.

First, the Swiss football team pinned down Ecuador at the score of 2-1 in front of the audience at Estadio Nacional. Then, in Estadio Beira-Rio, the French won the match against Honduras at the score of 3-0 thanks to the explosive two-goal attack from Karim Benzema. And lastly, a 2-1 score sent the Argentinians, as well as star player Lionel Messi, a winning achievement against the Bosnians in an all-out battle at Maracaña.

Tomorrow, three games will happen with Germany takes on Portugal, the Iranians trying to nuke Nigeria in the playing field, and the USA takes on Ghana's finest.

The San Antonio Spurs are 2014 NBA Champions!

Last 2013, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs spent seven games trading punches and the Heat became the surprise winner against Spurs. Now for the 2014 NBA Finals, it seems that odds are turned and it became a little bit more difficult than last year.

In the first game, the San Antonio Spurs kickstarted the 2014 NBA Finals after a 110-95 win against Miami Heat. Spurs won the first game of the finals. Then in the second game, the Miami Heat leveled the odds after the score of 98-96. In Game 3, San Antonio Spurs leading the game against Miami Heat at the score of 111-92. And in Game 4, Spurs still leading at the score of 107-86 against Miami Heat.

It's all down to this; Game 5, held at their home turf AT&T Center, and if Spurs win, they'll be declared as 2014 NBA Champions and they did, after ending Miami Heat's 2-win streak at the score of 104-87.

This is the fifth time the Spurs won the championship since winning their titles in 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007.

So here's to you, San Antonio Spurs (as well as top players Ginobili, Parker, Leonard, and Duncan). You deserved that title fair and square.

FIFA World Cup 2014 - Day 3

In the third day of the FIFA WORLD CUP BRASIL, those four matches really are worth being a struggle from the start to the finish, from the 1st to the 4th quarter.  First, the Colombians never let their Greek opposition score not even a single goal, leaving the score to 3-0. Next, it's the Costa Ricans emerged victorious in the fight against Uruguay at the score of 1-3. Afterwards, the goals from Claudio Marchisio and Mario Balotelli gave the Italians a close-call win against England at the score of 2-1. Lastly, Japan's samurai spirit is not enough to take down the likes of their Ivory Coast rivals at the score of 2-1.

These four matches truly demonstrate how determined and how alert these soccer teams are. Tomorrow, there are three games from Switzerland vs. Ecuador up to Argentina vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The big scoop today...

- Celebrity house guest, Alex Gonzaga, bids farewell to the Pinoy Big Brother house.

- There's going to be a brand new Lion King-based TV series coming to Disney Junior next year. Called The Lion Guard, it tells the tale of the son of  Simba and Nala, Kion, who is destined to protect the Pride Lands. A TV movie will air Autumn 2015 before turning into a full-fledged TV series a year after.

- THE SHACK IS RE-OPENED! Announced by series creator, Alex Hirsch, the hit Disney animated paranormal comedy series, Gravity Falls, returns this August 1st on Disney Channel and there's more paranormal encounters for the Pines twins, Dipper and Mabel. There will be new characters as well as familiar ones in this new season. More thrills, more laughs.

- TELETUBBIES ARE BACK! The controversial pre-school TV series, the Teletubbies, got rebooted and the BBC wants 60 new episodes for the rebooted Teletubbies.

- Some of the models from the Ford Motor Company lineup will have their fuel economy reduced due to some error in "total road local horsepower" testing. This fuel economy reduction to some models will also include the Ford Fiesta with the 1.0L EcoBoost engine.

The Mecum Auctions Seattle

In a cloudy and rainy Friday afternoon in Seattle, I went to the CenturyLink Field Event Center to attend the first ever Mecum Car Auctions event held in Seattle. This is the first time they've ever had such a wondrous car auction event held here and I can't wait what the fuzz is all about...





A selection of the finest classic, vintage, custom and performance vehicles have been gathered for one of America's finest car auctions and this is the first time Mecum Auctions held at Seattle from Friday the 13th of June up to Saturday the 14th of June, 2014.



That event was televised via NBC Sports so those car enthusiast who never made it at the venue can still enjoy the car auction action at the comfort of their home.

 

I'm quite surprised that the legendary Bugatti Veyron supercar was in that venue.



The Calypso Coral Boss Quartet; four special Mustang Boss machines painted in Calypso Coral exterior color and way beyond compare than any other Mustang Boss machines.
 


This is one of the prime examples of a "resto-mod", a classic car that is restored and modified with some nice touches. Pretty cool, isn't it?



"The Michael Jordan Car" - an Aston Martin DB7 belong to one of the NBA legends and one of my childhood heroes.

Fancy a limousine, sir?



Quite a bizarre encounter over this one! That's some kind of an Eastern Germany car called the Goggomobil and it's one of 10 units arrived on US soil.



That is a Lincoln Blackwood, a luxury pickup truck based on the Ford F150 and probably one of the rarest you can find because of its short-lived production. It's powered by a 5.4L V8 engine developing 300HP of power and 355ft-lb of torque.

Anyway, I really had fun at the Mecum Auctions in Seattle's CenturyLink Field Event Center. To me, this event served me one of the best pre-summer moments any car enthusiasts would love to spend. I don't know what that is but all those classic metal and the remains of the automotive industry's past displayed for auctions, this car auction is definitely one of the most successful, I can tell. Now, the only thing that's left is...how can I get that "auction guy" dialog out of my head...

As I finished this, the Mecum Auctions committee recorded their best car auctions in Seattle and the car that scored the biggest price tag is the 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible, sold at 3.5 million US Dollars.
