Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series Round 5

The Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series continues at Sportsland Sugo, where drivers end summer with an intense race a select number of audiences experienced.

The first half of the race saw some dramatic overtakes and a disaster for the #38 car as it went off course while trying to overtake the #3 car. The same goes for the #16 car. The latter half of the race saw some intense racing drama with the #4 car experienced tire troubles, a spin for car #60, and others.

In the end, the #12 Calsonic IMPUL GT-R wins the race while the #1 STANLEY NSX-GT finished 2nd and the #17 Astemo NSX-GT finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT claimed its maiden win while the #55 ARTA NSX GT3 finished 2nd and the #56 Realize Nissan Technical College GT-R finished 3rd.

The next race will be at Autopolis on the 24th of October, 2021.

Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series Round 3

After a COVID-19 delay, the third round of the Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series in Suzuka Circuit went ahead as planned and this race became the one fans will never forget.

As the race kicked off, the #18 car violently crashed at the 130R corner, triggering a red flag that temporarily stopped the race, but thankfully, the driver is safe. As the race resumed, the sixth lap saw the #64 car caught fire at the end of the chicane. As the weather gets gloomy, the action heats up for the drivers.

After one eventful day at Suzuka, the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R wins while the #3 CRAFTSPORTS MOTUL GT-R finished 2nd and the #24 Realize corporation ADVAN GT-R finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #244 Takanoko-no-yu GR Supra GT wins while the #88 JLOC Lamborghini GT3 finished 2nd and the #4 GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMG finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series Round 4

Of course, as the third round, originally scheduled for the end of May, got postponed due to COVID-19, the Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series proceed with Motegi for their fourth round of the season, and looks like the odds are starting to blur as the Olympic mania draws near.

The #1 STANLEY NSX-GT served as the polesitter of this 63 lap race in the middle of the scorching hot weather and as the race begins, it's all or nothing for the drivers trying to survive through this midsummer race of the season. 10 laps passed and the #87 GT300 car is pulled out of the race because of the damage to the suspension following a collision while the #35 vehicle retired on lap 36 due to mechanical issues. In Lap 43, the #64 GT500 car got caught in the accident and it was therefore out.

After 63 laps of intense midsummer racing action, the #1 STANLEY NSX-GT survived all the way to victory while the #19 WedsSport ADVAN GR Supra finished 2nd and the #36 au TOM'S GR Supra finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #2 muta Racing Lotus MC wins while the #11 GAINER TANAX GT-R finished 2nd and the Saitama Toyopet GB GR Supra GT finished 3rd.


The next race will be at Suzuka. The third round will proceed on the 22nd of August after a COVID-19 delay.

Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series Round 2

Despite the ongoing state of emergency in some parts of Japan in the midst of the Golden Week, the second round of the Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series, held at Fuji Speedway, is still on and there's still more work that needs to be done for the drivers to deliver the best Golden Week experience for the whole fans to see.

The #19 WedSport ADVAN GR Supra served as the pole sitter of this race, leading the grid to the start of this 110 lap race. As the race progresses, there are three vehicles that are out of the race such as the #23 for engine problems at lap 2 and #38 that had issues with the rear wheel hub on Lap 31 while on the GT300 class, the #22 crashed at Lap 71.

The Golden Week race at Fuji ends with the #17 Astemo NSX-GT, driven by Koudai Tsukakoshi and Bertrand Baguette, won the race while the #14 ENEOS X PRIME GT Supra finished 2nd and the #37 KeePer TOM'S GR Supra finished 3rd. A Supra-dominated podium! In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #60 SYNTIUM LMcorsa GR Supra GT is the winner while the new #61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT, which is based on the upcoming second-generation Subaru BRZ, claimed its first podium finish with a 2nd place, and the #55 ARTA NSX GT3 finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series Round 1

The Autobacs Super GT returns for the 2021 series and this season's maiden voyage is at Okuyama where drivers of both classes kicked off the new season of Japan's favorite motorsport in the midst of the pandemic the world lingers on.

Sunny weather means dry track conditions around Okuyama, the perfect setup to kick off the new season of Super GT. The #37 Keeper TOM's GR Supra leads the grid to start the 82-lap season opener and throughout the course of the race, there have been some unlucky ones that didn't survive the race. The #30 car got crashed at lap 5, #360 at lap 28, the #2 car suffered vehicle damage due to contact at lap 47, and the #23 car got damaged at Lap 49 and therefore out of the race.


After an intense season opener, the #14 ENEOS X PRIME GR Supra wins the first race of the Autobacs Super GT 2021 Series while the #36 au TOM'S GR Supra finished 2nd and the #37 KeePer TOM'S GR Supra finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #56 Realize Nissan Automobile Technical College GT-R wins the race while the #65 LEON PYRAMID AMG finished 2nd and 3rd placer goes to the #52 SAITAMA TOYOPET GB GR Supra GT.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series FINAL

In the midst of the recent spike of coronavirus cases across Japan, there's no stopping a flock of racing fans gathering at Fuji Speedway to witness the finale of the Autobacs Super GT 2020 series as they're witnessing what is known to be the most dramatic Super GT race in history.

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series reached its dramatic finale at Fuji Speedway in front of the not-so-socially-distanced audience and the last 65 laps of this season were proven to be memorable from start to finish, especially the final sprint that got the whole world talking about.

The #100 Raybrig NSX emerged as the winner of the final race and the GT500 champion after its rival, the #37 KeePer Supra, ran out of fuel as it sprints through the finish line. Such heartbreak for the Supra ended up in a 2nd place finish. The #36 au Supra, meanwhile, finished 3rd.

In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #52 Green Brave Supra emerged the winner of the final race but the 2nd placer, the #56 Realize GT-R, emerged as the GT300 class champion. The #6 ADVICS MC86 finished 3rd.

Congratulations to the champions of this season!

And that concludes the Autobacs Super GT Series. What a season it was. Despite the pandemic, they sure know how to deliver some awesome races with or without the audiences and let's hope next season will be better when things are back to the way it used to be.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 7

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series continues in Twin Ring Motegi Road Course for the penultimate round of the season and as the whole world watches over the heated election coverage, nothing's more intense than watching the best of the best clashing at Twin Ring Motegi as the climax draws near.

With 63 laps of intense driving action, this penultimate race of the season is packed with moments too fast to forget as well as some drama involved as the race progresses.

After an intense Motegi drama, it's a triple podium finish for the NSX-GT machines with the #8 ARTA NSX-GT named the winner, the #64 Modulo NSX-GT placed 2nd, and the #100 RAYBRIG NSX-GT placed 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #56 Realize Nissan Automobile Technical College GT-R wins while the #4 GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMG finished 2nd and #360 RUNUP RIVAUX GT-R finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 6

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 series returns to Suzuka Circuit for their 6th round of the season and this time, there are some audiences present, bringing more life to this race as the climax draws near.

Suzuka Circuit roars back to life with fast cars, gleeful audience, and all of the drama involved in the sixth round of the Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series. With 52 laps of no-nonsense, thrilling, and dramatic race moments experienced in front of the audiences, this race sure served as a build-up for this season's imminent climax.

After 52 laps, it's a 1-2 GT-R finish as the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R of Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli wins while the #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R finished 2nd. The #8 ARTA NSX-GT completes the podium with a third place finish. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #21 Hitotsuyama Audi R8 LMS wins while the #6 ADVIC muta MC86 finished 2nd and the #4 GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMG finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 5

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series returns to Fuji Speedway for the fifth round and with the audience started to pile up the circuit again, this race never felt so alive than ever in the midst of the new normal.

As the audiences starting to gather around the grandstands again, the fifth round of the Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series in Fuji Speedway shows that in the midst of the new normal, the action roars back to the fans and in this intense 66-lap campaign, the drivers are going all-out to see who comes out on top.

After a 66-lap thriller at Fuji, the #39 DENSO KOBELCO SARD GR Supra of Heikki Kovalanien and Yuichi Nakayama emerged as the winner while the #14 WAKO'S 4CR GR Supra placed 2nd and the #8 ARTA NSX-GT finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #56 Realize Nissan Automobile Technical College GT-R is the winner while the #55 ARTA NSX GT3 finished 2nd and the #65 LEON PYRAMID AMG finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 4

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series continues at Twin Ring Motegi for its 4th round and what a way to kickstart autumn with some intense racing action in the midst of the new normal.

The fourth round of this season's Super GT held at the Twing Ring Motegi Road Course is a 63-lap action-packed thriller where drivers kickstart the autumn season with an action-packed race where everything's on the line from start to finish.

The #17 KEIHIN NSX-GT, driven by Koudai Tsukakoshi and Bertrand Baguette, nicked its second win of the season while the #38 ZENT GR Supra finished 2nd and the #16 Red Bull MOTUL MUGEN NSX-GT finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #65 LEON PYRAMID AMG may have started 13th but it managed to blitz through victory lane with a 1st place finish while the #88 JLOC LAMBORGHINI GT3 finished 2nd and the #61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 3

The Autobacs Super GT continues at Suzuka Circuit for the third round of the "new normal" 2020 Series and this round is proven to be a wild way to end the summer season with some thrilling moments on track and some unfortunate crashes in store.

The 52-lap Super GT race in Suzuka is filled with numerous incidents that sent the unfortunate drivers packing with disappointment while the bravest ones managed to survive this incident-filled race day by all means necessary to finish the race with high hopes.

After an incident-filled thriller in Suzuka, the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R, driven by Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli, wins the race while the #100 RAYBRIG NSX-GT placed 2nd and #36 au TOM'S GR Supra finished 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #11 GAINER TANAX GT-R wins while the #18 UPGARAGE NSX GT3 finished 2nd and the #2 SYNTIUM Apple Lotus finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 2

The Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series continues at Fuji Speedway for the second round of the season and the drivers are getting their serious faces on to stay on top in the midst of the new normal.

Serious this race is, the second round of the 2020 Super GT season is all about the best close-quarters fights for the top spot and with a spin at Lap 36 to scratch the Sunday race, this Fuji race went relatively well as planned.

In the end, the #17 KEIHIN NSX-GT wins the second round, beating the two Supras, the #36 au TOM'S GR Supra and the #14 WAKO'S 4CR GT Supra, into it. Int he GT300 class, meanwhile, #2 SYNTIUM Apple LOTUS EVORA wins the race with the #61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT finished 2nd and the #55 ARTA NSX GT3 finished 3rd.

Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series Round 1

After months of delay due to the COVID-19 crisis the world's facing, the Autobacs Super GT 2020 Series is back in the running and they've kicked off the first round of this season at Fuji Speedway and despite the inclement weather in the midst of the new normal they're facing with, all eyes are on the season opener, where the new GR Supra racing machines are making their debut on track and these new machines really drawn their first blood at its home turf.

In the GT500 class, the #37 Keeper TOM's GR Supra draws the first blood of the season with a win while the #36 au TOM'S GR Supra finished 2nd and the #14 WAKO'S 4CR GR Supra finished third. All three new Supra machines occupied the podium in the season opener! In the GT300, meanwhile, another win for the new GR Supra as the #52 Saitama Toyopet GB GR Supra GT wins while the #11 GAINER TANX GTR finished 2nd and the #5 MC86 finished 3rd.

SUPER GT X DTM DREAM RACE

Japan's SUPER GT and Germany's DTM finally crossed over at Fuji Speedway to deliver the decade-ending, long awaited dream race that puts two of the most respected motorsport franchises together for an all-out war the motoring world will remember.

SUPER GT X DTM DREAM RACE

The SUPER GT X DTM DREAM RACE held at Fuji Speedway truly is Japan vs. Germany as the world's best drivers strapped themselves to the best racing machines the two franchises offered. From the best DTM machines from Audi and BMW to the best GT500 machines from Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, the two sides really clash themselves to the finish to see which of the two franchises is the best.

In the first part, Team Super GT occupied the podium with Nick Cassidy of the #37 KeePer TOM'S LC500 delivered a Pole To Win feat while Koudai Tsukakoshi of the #17 KEIHIN NSX-GT placed 2nd and Naoki Yamamoto of the #1 RAYBRIG NSX-GT placed 3rd.

In the final part, Indian driver Narain Karthikeyan, driving a #64 Modulo EPSON NSX-GT defeated two DTM drivers; Marco Wittmann of the #11 BMW M4 DTM and Loic Duval of the #28 BMW Airfitter Audi RS5 DTM to become the winner, although Duval finished 2nd but got slapped with a penalty that dropped him to third place.

The dream race commemorating AUTOBACS' 45th anniversary truly is a once-in-a-lifetime moment fans from both sides waited for and in the end, Japan beats Germany as demonstrated by the winners of the once-in-a-lifetime SUPER GT X DTM DREAM RACE.

Let's hope it won't be the last for this partnership but anyway, arigato and danke, SUPER GT and DTM, for this once-in-a-lifetime race!

SUPER GT 2019 FINAL

The final round of the AUTOBACS SUPER GT 2019 SERIES, held at Twin Ring Motegi, bids farewell to Lexus after 13 years of being part of GT500 duty since the SC430, RC F, Concept LF-LC, and the recent LC500, and what better way bringing the biggest sendoff Lexus deserves than having one of the drivers won this year's season and this season finale brings "experience amazing" to a spectacular meaning for the Lexus drivers who are now going to be swapped for Toyota Supras for next season.

After 53 laps of suspense and thriller the SUPER GT finale thrown at them, the winner of the season finale goes to the #37 KeePer TOM's LC500, driven by Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy, for the GT500 class, whereas the #11 GAINER TANAX GT-R driven by Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Hironobu Yasuda wins in GT300 class.

And now, the winners of the AUTOBACS SUPER GT 2019 SERIES has been announced. In the GT500 class, Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita of the #6 WAKO'S 4CR LC500 won the Driver Ranking while the #37 KeePer TOM'S LC500 won the Team Ranking. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, Shinichi Takagi and Nirei Fukuzumi of the #55 ARTA won both the Driver and Team Rankings respectively.

SUPER GT 2019 Round 7

In the penultimate race of the Autobacs Super GT 2019 series, Sportsland Sugo's got soaked with wet weather, making this race a rather tricky and dramatic one, hence the safety car start, but despite the weather, that doesn't stop the drivers from pulling all the stops in the fight for the title.

After an intense wet race at Sugo, the #3 CRAFTSPORTS MOTUL GT-R, driven by Kohei Hirate and Frederic Makowiecki, wins the GT500 class with the #64 Modulo Epson NSX-GT placed 2nd and the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R placed 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #55 ARTA NSX GT, driven by Shinichi Takagi and Nirei Fukuzumi, nailed their first win while the #4 GOODSMILE HATSUNE MIKU AMG placed 2nd and the #96 K-tunes RC F GT3 placed 3rd.

SUPER GT 2019 Round 6

Autumn has begun and the 2019 Autobacs Super GT series continues at Autopolis to add some action in the arrival of the fall season.

Once again, the Lexus LC500 Super GT race cars continue to upset the motorsport crowd with the #39 DENSO KOBELCO SARD LC500, driven by Heikki Kovalainen and Yuichi Nakayama, emerged as the GT500 winner of this round and the #37 KeePer TOM'S LC500, driven by Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy, placed 3rd. The #17 KEIHIN NSX GT, driven by Koudai Tsukakoshi and Bertrand Baguette, placed 2nd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #SYNTIUJM LMcorsa RC F GT3 emerged as the class winner while the #720 McLaren 720S scored its first podium finish with a 2nd placer, and the #88 MANEPA Lamborghini Huracan GT3 placed 3rd.

SUPER GT 2019 Round 5

Long before the 5th round of the 2019 Autobacs Super GT championship kicked off at Fuji Speedway, the organizers of both Super GT and DTM has been gathered and locked in the November 22nd to 24th date for the much-awaited Super GT - DTM dream race at this very place. With the dates locked for the dream match, the real action at Fuji begins with all of the drama, all of the excitement, and all of the thrills as expected as they have reached the midway point of the summer season.

After an epic race at Fuji in the midst of the summer season, the #6 WAKO's 4CR LC500 wowed the Fuji crowd with a GT500 win with the #1 RAYBRIG NSX-GT placed 2nd and the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R placed 3rd. In the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #87 T-DASH Lamborghini Huracan GT3 wins this class while the #52 SAITAMATOYOPET GB MARK X MC placed 2nd and the #34 Modulo KENWOOD NSX GT3 placed 3rd.

SUPER GT 2019 Round 4

Thailand's Chang International Circuit experienced the roar of Japan's premiere motorsport series for the fourth round of the 2019 Autobacs Super GT Championship as the Land of Smiles is becoming the Land of Huge Grins as spectators and competitors are feeling their grin in the heat of the battle at the only overseas outing of this season.

Those Super GT Lexus LC500 machines, on its last legs of this season, are making a huge headlines recently as the #6 WAKO'S 4CR LC500, driven by Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita, emerged as the GT500-class winner of the fourth round of this season with the #37 KeePer TOM'S LC500 placed 2nd, and #19 WedsSport ADVAN LC500 placed 3rd. A full podium for these Lexus machines, which adds some joy and skepticism for motoring enthusiasts experiencing the action elsewhere.

In the GT300 class meanwhile, the #10 GAINER TANAX triple a GT-R won the race while the #56 Realize NISSAN jidousya daigakkou GT-R placed 2nd, and the #65 LEON PYRAMID AMG placed 3rd.

SUPER GT 2019 Round 3

In a middle of what was known to be the loudest race weekend ever to hit the final days of May, Suzuka Circuit comes alive in the third round of the 2019 Autobacs Super GT Championship, where drivers from across the Land of the Rising Sun come clashing to make sure summer in Japan start early in one of the most epic motorsport series in Asia.

From exciting to dramatic, the third round of the Super GT championship at Suzuka is definitely a race to remember for and to the very end of the race, the GT500 winner is crowned to the #36 au TOM'S LC500, driven by Kazuki Nakajima and Yuhi Sekiguchi, while the 2nd placer goes to the #37 KeePer TOM's LC500, driven by Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy, and 3rd placer goes to the #6 WAKO's 4CR LC500, driven by Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita. A 1-2-3 finish for the Lexus LC500 race cars.

For the GT300 class, meanwhile, the #96 K-tunes RC F GT3, driven by Morio Nitta and Sena Sakaguchi, wins the race with the 2nd placer goes to the #5 ADVICS MACHSYAKEN MC86 MACH GO, driven by Natsu Sakaguchi and Yuya Hiraki, and 3rd placer goes to the #61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT, driven by Yakuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi.
