From Ginga to Decker - A quick list of Ultraman shows aired on TV Tokyo

The newest installment of the Ultraman franchise, Ultraman Decker, is here and this marks the 10th Ultraman TV series aired on TV Tokyo since 2013's Ultraman Ginga. In honor of the Ultraman Decker series premiere, it's time to have a quick trip to memory lane with the quick list of Ultraman shows aired on TV Tokyo.


Ultraman Ginga (2013) - The Ultraman series marked its return to the TV screens on its new home network, TV Tokyo, and the first Ultraman series aired on TV Tokyo is Ultraman Ginga. The series centers on a young man named Hikaru Raido. After returning from overseas, he and his friend Misuzu venture to their childhood school until Hikaru's encounter with an Ultraman Taro doll turned into a struggle between good vs. evil. Granted with the power of the Ginga Spark, Hikaru becomes Ultraman Ginga to defend the school against the forces of evil.

Ultraman Ginga S (2014) - The sequel is set two years after the finale of the first series. In this series, Hikaru Raido returns and this time, he's joined by the special forces unit called the Ultra Party Guardians as well as Sho, a Victorian warrior who wields the Victory Lancer to become Ultraman Victory.

Ultraman X (2015) - The third installment of the New Generation Heroes saga, this series centers on Daiichi Ozora, a young man who is part of the special forces unit called Xio. Caught in a crossfire against a kaiju, Daiichi encountered a mysterious Ultraman and join forces with him. With the power of the Xdevizer, Daiichi becomes Ultraman X, and by harnessing the power of the cyber monsters, X protects the city against monsters.

Ultraman Orb (2016) - Served as an ultimate present for the Ultraman franchise's 50th anniversary, Ultraman Orb, the fourth Ultraman TV show of the New Generation Heroes universe, centers on a mysterious man named Gai who lost his powers following a certain incident several years ago. Armed with the Orb Ring and a deck of Fusion Cards, Gai transforms into Ultraman Orb and battles against terrifying monsters as well as his arch-nemesis, Jugglus Juggler.

Ultraman Geed (2017) - In this fifth installment of the New Generation Heroes saga, this show centers on a young man named Riku Asakura, who tries to cope with his dark past and the fact that he's the descendant of Belial, the evil Ultraman who threatened to destroy the universe. Using the power of the Geed Riser and the Ultra Capsules, Riku becomes Ultraman Geed, protects the world against the monsters, and in due course, put an end Belial's evil plans.

Ultraman R/B (2018) - The sixth installment of the New Generation Heroes features, for the first time, brothers becoming Ultra Heroes. The quiet lives of the Minato brothers, Katsumi and Isami, are forever changed when a kaiju attacked the city of Ayaka-shi and they were caught in the attack. Granted with the R/B Gyro and R/B crystals, the Minato brothers become Ultraman Rosso and Ultraman Blu. It takes two to save the day, right?

Ultraman Taiga (2019) - The first Ultraman series of the Reiwa era and the first to have the main character transform into three Ultra Heroes. Hiroyuki Kudo, a young man who works for EGIS, harnesses the power of the Taiga Spark to become Ultraman Taiga, the descendant of the legendary Ultraman Taro. Hiroyuki and Taiga are later joined by Titas and Fuma, and together, they must do whatever means necessary to foil Tregear's evil plot to destroy the universe.

Ultraman Z (2020) - In this series, two underdogs, STORAGE member Haruki Natsukawa and Ultraman Z, join forces to save the city from kaiju attacks as well as Celebro's sadistic attempts to destroy the world. Popular characters from the Ultraman universe such as Jugglus Juggler from Ultraman Orb, Ultraman Geed, Ultraman Zero, and Ultraman Ace made their appearances in this series.

Ultraman Trigger (2021) - Made to commemorate the Ultraman franchise's 55th anniversary and the Tiga-Dyna-Gaia universe's 25th anniversary, this landmark series centers on a young man named Kengo Manaka. Caught in a battle against Carmeara, one of the Giants of Darkness, Kengo wields the power of the GUTS Spark Lence and the Hyper Key to become Ultraman Trigger, the ancient hero of light. With Trigger and the entire GUTS-SELECT team, they will do by all means necessary to save the world from monster attacks as well as the Giants of Darkness while uncovering a mysterious prophecy surrounding Trigger.

Ultraman Decker (2022) - The latest series, which is part of the Neo Frontier Spirits, is made in honor of Ultraman Dyna's 25th anniversary, continuing the Tiga-Dyna-Gaia universe's 25th-anniversary celebration. In this new series, set nine years after Trigger's final battle, a humble young man named Kanata Asumi got caught in a crossfire against a malevolent force known as the Sphere. Wielding the power of the Ultra D-Flasher and the Ultra Dimension cards, Kanata becomes Ultraman Decker, humanity's last hope. With the new GUTS-SELECT team alongside, Decker will use all means necessary to save the world from Sphere threats.

A decade of Ultraman TV shows aired on TV Tokyo from Ginga to Decker, it's an ultra milestone in the making. This is the future of Ultraman and with Decker's arrival, the future of the Ultraman franchise never felt so ultra.
