2021 NASCAR Cup Series - Verizon 200 at the Brickyard

NASCAR returns to Indianapolis but not what they're expecting it to be because, for the first time in NASCAR's IMS history, they're taking on the Road Course layout of the track for the Verizon 200 race. Another real circuit racing for the NASCAR drivers with numerous corners, huh? What could possibly go wrong?

As the green flag waved, the action at the IMS Road Course has begun. As Tyler Reddick won Stage 1, Stage 2 saw plenty of action in store for the drivers on both sides and as Tyler Reddick won Stage 2, the final stage saw calamity as numerous drivers got spun and crash as Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin battling each other over the fate of the playoffs.

After all the thrillers in the IMS Road Course, AJ Allmendinger wins the Verizon 200 of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series. He's into the playoffs as well as Denny Hamlin!

With only two races left of the regular season, who will make it to the playoffs? The next race will be at Michigan International Speedway for the FireKeepers Casino 400 this August 22nd.
