The new 2018MY Subaru WRX STi has been given a revised front design that brings out the sporty character as Subaru's flagship high-performance sports saloon, built for speedo boys from across the globe. Apart from the revised front face comes with yellow-painted brake calipers reminiscent of the WRX Concept a few years ago. It may not do justice, but the new look begs us for more WRX STi action than seeing it by ourselves.

The interior of the new WRX STi has seen some subtle changes, particularly around the dashboard. The most noticeable updates include a new, larger high-definition multi-function display and an improved auto climate control system. These enhancements make it easier to distinguish the differences between the previous and current models. Additionally, the car now features revised RECARO sports seats that complement the sporty character of the WRX STi. This model is truly the ultimate expression of a "speedo boy's" car, perfect for track days or midnight drives with fellow enthusiasts.
Under the hood, the WRX STi retains the same EJ20 BOXER DOHC 16-Valve Dual AVCS Twin Scroll Turbo engine as its predecessor, generating 308 PS of power and 422 Nm of torque, with a fuel economy of 9.4 km/L. It is exclusively paired with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. The Active Torque Vectoring system applies brake pressure to the front wheels, while the Vehicle Dynamics Control offers various settings, including VDC Normal, Traction, and Off, each providing different levels of system engagement. The 2018 model also features a retuned suspension and a new DCCD AWD system, which employs electronic control for a quicker and smoother response.
The improved Brembo Performance Brake System includes striking yellow brake calipers, with stronger monoblock 6-piston calipers in the front and 2-piston calipers in the rear, along with larger, drilled rotors for better heat dissipation. This upgrade comes with new brake pads that enhance stopping power and provide a better driving feel.
While it is designed with performance in mind for enthusiasts, the WRX STi can also be equipped with the Advanced Safety Package. This package includes features like Subaru's Rear Vehicle Detection, High Beam Assist, a Front and Side View Monitor, and headlamps that pivot when the steering wheel is turned.
The new 2018 Subaru WRX STi starts at 3,866,400 Yen (tax included). Buyers can further customize their vehicle with optional extras, such as a rear wing that completes the iconic WRX STi look expected from Subaru.
