FIA World RX 2025: World RX of Turkiye

Istanbul Park serves as the final destination for what some believe could be the last-ever FIA World Rallycross Championship season. Following the unexpected withdrawal of the Hansens, rallycross is now centered around just four competitors: title frontrunner Johan Kristoffersson, Ole Christian Veiby, Niclas Grönholm, and the only female competitor in rallycross, Klara Andersson.

Because of this, the finale featured wildcard entries and a one-day format to make this send-off more exciting. The wildcard entries in the finale consist of Euro RX1 drivers who performed better in the Euro RX1 finale. While wildcard entries are not eligible for championship points, they are fully eligible to race for the win and stand on the podium. A fitting end.

Johan Kristofferson has truly cemented his legacy in the world of motorsport, and his remarkable achievement of becoming an 8-time World RX champion speaks volumes. There’s no need for further explanation—his dominance on the track tells the story all on its own!

This concludes the 2025 FIA World Rallycross Season. Notably, the FIA has restructured the championship for 2026, reverting to the Euro RX format with a top-tier class using internal combustion engines on sustainable fuels. Additionally, a standalone FIA Rallycross World Cup is planned, reflecting the shift from the FIA World Touring Car Cup to the TCR World Tour in 2023.

Anyway, this is the end of the last-ever season of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Thank you for being part of this experience, and here's hoping for more rallycross action on the world stage someday.
