The Grand Tour Mozambique Special

Wrapping up the second series of Prime Video original series, The Grand Tour, the boys head off to Mozambique to do some so-called humanitarian work by delivering the fishes from the capital city Maputo to the village of Bingo.

The Grand Tour Mozambique Special

On the Mozambique special, Jeremy Clarkson drives a Nissan Datsun Truck which has an ice generator he stole from the hotel, James May drives an old Mercedes estate with some aquarium installed of it, and Richard Hammond, stupidly, goes for a two-wheeler TVS bike.

Before setting off, the boys gone fishing in a stormy day and things weren't gone well so on the next morning, they got buckets of fishes to start with, signalling the start of their journey to Bingo. Things are looking good until Hammond is losing his fishes and worse enough, approaching through the muddy waters, Hammond keeps falling and James' car is causing engine failures.

On the next day, James refills the aquarium with salt water, Jeremy replaced the broken ice generator and turn it into a foundry for fishes, and the journey continues. Sure, they faced another muddy roads up ahead but later on, they've been through the deepest, wettest, part of the road. The Datsun Truck made it, even the bike made it because Hammond found the narrowest part of the road, but sadly, it's the end of the road for James' Mercedes estate.

Third day, the Mercedes's engine was thrown away for good and now towed by Clarkson's pickup truck as the boys approaching Bingo. They've reached their destination and present the fish to the whole villagers but sadly, none of the villagers are interested on those.

And that concludes the second series of The Grand Tour. We've seen Richard destroyed an electric supercar, racing a Ford GT to Canada, driving a Bugatti Chiron to Italy, making an unscripted show, Jeremy making a Gymkhana spoof, boys driving Jags, solving the gas station problem, driving vintage racers, breaking a speed record, and gone offroading in Canada. They've presented some of the high-profile celebs in their Celebrity Face Off segment, tested out the newest cars, and so much more. Only problem is, who is the mystery driver lapping round cars round the Eboladrome anyway?

Still, that's it for The Grand Tour for now and let's hope the boys will be back for more.

The Grand Tour S2: Oh, Canada

The sharp rise of SUVs prompted Prime Video Original's The Grand Tour to focus this episode on nothing but crossovers.

The Grand Tour S2E10

Jeremy Clarkson drives the all-new Alfa Romeo Stelvio while James May drives the Range Rover Velar and Richard Hammond tries the Porsche Macan Turbo Performance Pack. First off, they went round the Area 27 to see if they're as quick as a BMW M3. In the end, none of the three are quicker than the Bimmer but the Stelvio is the quickest of the three.

Meanwhile, the boys test the crossovers' utilitarian traits by putting the dogs at the back of the cars, which sounds like hard work for them. Sadly, due to the electric tailgates, they failed the test.

Then, the boys test the crossover's capabilities as "vehicles" by going as fast as a horse in the arena. Sadly, their crossovers are rubbish but the Velar is better than the other two.

As the three failed to discover which SUVs is the best, there has been a change of plans as the boys race towards the finish line towing speedboats. Annoyingly, Clarkson swapped his Alfa for a new Ford F-150 Raptor. Still, they know the drill. Get to the finish line as pointed out by their compasses. Still, even without the boat in the back after mishaps, Clarkson wins the race while May's sinking in his boat.

Back in the Eboladrome, Clarkson tries out Tesla's first electric crossover, the Model X. He even drove it on the motorways, drag race against the R8, and driving round the track while filled with lawyers rambling around him. It even had a lap time of 1:29.06 as well.

Celebs Rory McIlroy and Paris Hilton are the guests of this episode's Celebrity Face Off and in this segment, in the midst of icy and greasy conditions, Paris did it in 1:25.8 while Rory did it in 1:21.9.

The Grand Tour S2: Breaking, badly

In the latest episode of Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour, it's all about pushing to the max by land and by sea, obviously.

The Grand Tour S2E09

It all begins with Jeremy Clarkson revisiting the unsung supercars of the early 90's; the Bugatti EB110 Super Sport and the Jaguar XJ220. Both of these cars emerged from the last decade of the 20th century when stock prices plummeted and as of now, there only a handful of cars that are faster than these old-timers, still, no modern supercar is as fast as these. Anyway, when handed to the unnamed driver, the EB110 did it in a shocking 1:32.8 wet lap time while the Jag did it in 1:35.1.

Meanwhile, the boys are trying to break the amphibious speed record by making an amphibious car made out of an old Suzuki Jimny, a boat, and a massive jet engine. The first attempt didn't work because despite the jet engine, it's still a tad slow, so for the next attempt, they've used a Bond Bug as the basis for their new amphibious vehicle capable of beating an amphibious speed record. When arrived to the very venue for that moment, because Clarkson possesses a racing boat license, he is the only one to try it even though he doesn't want to. In the end, they broke the British's amphibious speed record with 47.81mph!

In this week's Celebrity Face Off, magicians Dynamo and Penn and Teller are battling out who is the fastest. Magic show included. Anyway, due to the snowy conditions, the track's gone white, making it a hard time to determine which is which so when the weather's improving, the lap times commenced and when done, Dynamo did it in 1:39.3 while the duo did it in 1:33.8.

The Grand Tour S2: Blasts from the Past

Today's episode of Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour celebrates the golden days of motoring with a road trip featuring two restored classics and a modern take of an American racing icon.

The Grand Tour S2E08

Richard Hammond drives a Jaguar XKSS, which was restored by Jaguar themselves, while Jeremy Clarkson drives an Aston Martin DB4 GT, which was restored but modded. They enjoyed their road trip in France until it was interrupted by James May and the brand new Honda Civic Type R and rearranged for a trip to Spain.

Back in the Eboladrome, true to his words, Clarkson lets loose with the new Ford GT. When handed to the unnamed driver, it set a lap time of 1:17.6.

Drummers Stewart Copeland from The Police and Nick Mason from Pink Floyd battle themselves on Celebrity Face Off. In that segment, Mason did it in 1:21.3 while Copeland did it in 1:24.2.

The Grand Tour S2: It's a gas, gas, gas

The recent episode of Amazon Prime's original series, The Grand Tour is all about a hardcore Lambo, mobile refuelling, and rally legends.

The Grand Tour S2E07

The episode begins with Richard Hammond driving the hardcore Lamborghini, the Huracan Performante, round the Eboladrome. At the hands of the show's unknown driver, the Performante has set a lap time of 1:16.8.

Then, Hammond and May are solving the problem of stopping by for fuel by experimenting methods of mobile refuelling. They tried stuff like the refuelling truck, Chinese acrobats (which one was killed in the process), and the ideal platform for a mobile petrol station.

In Celebrity Face Off, wrestler Bill Goldberg and boxer Anthony Joshua are on a different kind of fistfight, only this time on the track. In the battle of the world's fastest man who earns a living from punching and strangling others, Bill did it in 1:20.4 while Anthony did it in 1:18.7.

Lastly, Clarkson revisits the clash of the rally titans, the Audi Quattro and the Lancia 037.

The Grand Tour S2: Jaaaaaaaags

This week's episode of Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour is all about second hand Jaguars trying to dispel the popular belief that they all break down, whatever that is.

The Grand Tour S2E06

With the US state of Colorado as the setting of this episode, Jeremy starts with an XJ8 saloon while James drives an XK8 Convertible and Richard drives a 420.

The first part is where they take on an offroad course and Hammond's 420 became the casualty of this challenge and it was replaced by an XJ6 saloon.

Then, the second part is where they will drive their cars from 0 to 100mph to 0. This time, the latest casualty is the XK8 convertible when James fell off the cliff but luckily survived. Sadly, he's now driving the 12-cylinder XJS coupe.

Before the conclusion, celebs Luke Evans and Designated Survivor's Kiefer Sutherland seize each other out for who is the fastest celebrity whose middle name is George in this week's Celebrity Face-Off. In here, Kiefer Sutherland wins with the time of 1:17.8 while Luke Evans did it in 1:21.3.

Returning to the Jaguar episode, the boys are taking on one last challenge which involves going skiing in their cars on a ski resort in Telluride. After doing typical things a Jaguar owner would do on their free time, they set off but because being rear-wheel drive Jags, they don't work in this place so instead they chained all of their rides as one and set off to the summit before separating them. With all three cars separated, the real game begins and having managed to survive the icy downhill menace, they made to the end until James' XJS, due to brake failure, ruined it.

The Grand Tour S2: Up, down and round the farm

The recent episode of Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour gets round and dirty as they try out their most dirtiest tricks with the dirtiest cars on the planet.

The Grand Tour S2E05

It begins with Richard Hammond in Dubai, sampling the dirtiest machines in the planet, starting with the hardcore Sandrail offroader and a military vehicle called the Ripsaw, which was made famous from The Fate of the Furious. There's even the part where he and the Ripsaw wreck havoc throughout the streets of Dubai, especially the shopping mall!

Then, James May heads to the Eboladrome to try out the smallest hot hatch in the market, the up! GTi. When handed to The Grand Tour's nameless driver, it lapped round the track in 1:39.7 under foggy conditions, which is the slowest.

Dominic Cooper and Bill Bailey are competing each other for who is the fastest celebrity with failed band career in Celebrity Face Off. In that segment, Bill Bailey did it in 1:25.1 while Dominic Cooper did it in 1:23.6, making him the winner of this week's Celebrity Face Off.

And this episode ends with Jeremy Clarkson goes a la Ken Block by making his own version of Gymkhana using a second-hand Subaru WRX in his little video called Farmkhana. And then some behind the scenes footage about Jeremy's Farmkhana. Of course, some sheep are killed in the making of that clip.

The Grand Tour S2: Unscripted

The Grand Tour wraps up 2017 with a sense of randomness as the gang tries to do an unscripted show while driving random vehicles on the streets of Croatia. Jeremy Clarkson drives the brand new Audi TT RS, Richard Hammond drives the Ariel Nomad, while James May drove a Lada Riva that he will turn it into a fire engine. How hard can it be to make an unscripted show?

The Grand Tour S2E04

Before that, Hammond tries out McLaren's newest supercar, the 720S, on the track, and when handed over to the driver with no name (seriously, who is she?), the 720S set a lap time of 1:17.9, similar to the car it replaces.

In Celebrity Face Off, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe faces off for who is the fastest classical singer with connections to the British motoring industry. In here, Michael Ball did it in 1:23.3 while Alfie Boe did it in 1:24.4.

The Grand Tour S2: Bah humbug-atti

The latest episode of this season of Amazon Prime's car program, The Grand Tour, features cars that make viewers drool in jealousy, saying that they really wish they want to drive either of these cars as seen in the show right now.

The Grand Tour S2E03

First off, James May is at Majorca, driving Kia's high-performance premium sports saloon, the Stinger, and then finds out if the car can go faster uphill than skateboarders going downhill, and he did.

Later on, May and Hammond are trying to make lunch break more interesting by turning a certain business park in Dunstable into a racetrack and summoned different office workers during lunch breaks to see which one is the clear winner.

In Celebrity Face Off, survivalist Casey Anderson and Paddington star Hugh Bonneville are on a duel to see who is the fastest celebrity who lives with a bear. Of course, this segment featured a preview clip in the upcoming Paddington 2 film. Anyway, in the lap time part, Hugh did it in 1:22.2 while Casey did it in 1:18.6.

Wrapping up in this episode, Jeremy Clarkson goes on an road trip with Bugatti's latest masterpiece, the Chiron, to a restaurant in Turin, and a return of someone familiar to you since Namibia last year.

The Grand Tour S2: The Falls Guys

The Grand Tour S02E02
The second episode of this season of Amazon's car program, The Grand Tour, brings back a familiar staple of an epic race between a car and public transportation as Jeremy Clarkson drives the brand new Ford GT while James May tags along with an injured Richard Hammond on numerous public transportation by land and by air and by land again on an epic race from New York City to Niagara Falls. It was one-sided due to traffic conditions near the Canadian border but the Ford GT managed to beat them to the race to the Falls.

During the episode, Jeremy Clarkson checks out the Mercedes-AMG GT-R around the Eboladrome and when handed at the hands of the show's new driver, notably a female driver, it lapped round the track in 1:18.7.

In Celebrity Face Off, it's cricket vs. baseball as Kevin Pietersen and Brian Wilson, two famous athletes who made a living of throwing and hitting balls, seize each other out to find out who's the fastest. In here, Kevin beats Brian at the lap time of 1:17.2 vs. 1:17.5.

The Grand Tour S2: Past, present or future

Amazon Prime's original motoring program, The Grand Tour, returned for its second and most explosive season yet and the new season begins with a disastrous comparison between the past, the present, and the future.

The Grand Tour S2E01

On a road trip to Switzerland, the country that banned motor racing due to some accident in Le Mans a couple of decades ago, Richard Hammond drives a zero-emission electric supercar from Croatia known as the Rimac Concept_One while Jeremy Clarkson blasts himself from the past with the Lamborghini Aventador S, the improved version of Lamborghini's V12 flagship possessing 30PS more power than the old one, and James sticks to the tune of times with the Honda NSX, a hybrid successor to the original.

The trip has became troublesome for some because thanks to Hammond, they spend their night out at a "wellness center", driving through tight shopping districts, travelling through museums, and pretty much it. Bored, the boys are letting loose with a drag race round an airfield where the Rimac wins due to peak torque, which electric cars had the upper hand.

Ending the supercar trip to Switzerland is a hill climb where all that's about to change because it was the exact hill climb where Hammond's involved in the gruesome accident. A fiery one, if you may.

The new season marks the debut of Celebrity Face Off, a new segment where celebrities try their hand out on a special track, driving the Jaguar F-Type. For the first outing of this new segment, it's the battle of the fastest former talent show judges, Ricky Wilson vs. David Hasselhoff. In this segment, The Hoff did it in 1:24.1 while Ricky did it in 1:20.1, the Yorkshire star defeats the Hollywood celeb by four seconds.

What a way to start the season with a big one where it gets boring at the start and fiery at the finish. That's The Grand Tour to us and expect madness for the next eleven weeks from Clarkson, Hammond, and May.

The Grand Tour S1 Finale

The Grand Tour S1 Finale

After twelve weeks of delivering high-speed thrills, hijinks, and everything we love about all things Clarkson, Hammond, and May, Amazon's original series, The Grand Tour, concludes their first season with a big finish about the past against the present of the world of motoring.

First up, Jeremy Clarkson and James May settle the score on the future of automotive by pitting a petrol-powered VW Golf GTi against a eco car PHEV called the BMW i3 while taking a scenic road trip to a bar in Devon.

Then, May's in New Forest to tackle the dirtiest job of all; winching an offroad vehicle when it's stuck in the mud.

Richard Hammond, meanwhile, pits the Porsche 918 Spyder and the legendary Bugatti Veyron in the streets of Dubai, and then tries to learn how to drift a car while competing against aspiring drifters; one is a handicapped and the other is underaged.

Man, what a ride that was for The Grand Tour after 12 weeks of delivering the best that the world's favorite motoring TV trio has to offer. From America, Europe, Africa, to the Middle East, from fast cars to old cars, from good to worst, this show made everything possible in the world of motoring and with the end of the first season, we may never know what will they do next until they return later this year.

Until then, see you soon!

The Grand Tour - Episode 12

The Grand Tour Episode 12

SUVs are the main topic of this week's episode of Amazon's original series, The Grand Tour. In this episode, the trio are setting off to Germany to see which SUV is the best. James May believes that it's the expensive and the most powerful SUV ever made, the Bentley Bentayga, while Jeremy Clarkson thinks it's the Range Rover, and Richard Hammond knows that it's the less powerful but more affordable Jaguar F-Pace.

The trio settled their difference through a road trip through German cities, including the one with the F-bomb on it, and it all ends with an offroad race in the outskirts of Nuremberg.

Before that, Jeremy Clarkson's at the Eboladrome, killing animals with Lexus's high performance four-door saloon, the GS F, film extraordinaire Tim Burton is the latest celebrity victim to be succumbed to the show's Celebrity Braincrash, and a life in a day of a car with launch control.

The Grand Tour - Episode 11

The Grand Tour Episode 11

Yep, all three Maseratis in this episode are Biturbo-based as the trio set off to an epic French road trip with the climax that really is a thriller and comedy gold.

Before that, Richard Hammond's at the Eboladrome, test driving the brand new Abarth 124 Spider. Then, Sir Chris Coy, Olympic cycling champion turned car racer, is the latest casualty in the Celebrity Brain Crash segment.

The Grand Tour - Episode 10

The Grand Tour Episode 10

The tenth episode of Amazon's original motoring show, The Grand Tour, sees the trio coming up with an idea to submerged a scrapped car body under the sea in order to become a new home for the fishes, having drawn inspiration from a certain move done by a certain nation to submerged an old ship to make a new home for fisheries due to the ocean's coral shortage because of the so-called global warming.

With the tropical island of Barbados is the main stage for this experiment, the gang are pulling the stops to turn the scrapped metal into a new aquarium for the fishes. Sadly, the only thing they done so far are messing up the popular vacation spot for tourists. Still, after several ruckus later, as well as having four scrapped cars gone to complete waste, the scrapped Land Rover body managed to be submerged successfully, accomplishing their so-called environmental mission.

Before that, Jeremy Clarkson goes to Wales to try out the brand new Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde sports saloon and then took it for a spin round the Eboladrome. Then, AC/DC lead singer Brian Johnson is the latest casualty of the show's Celebrity Braincrash segment.

The Grand Tour - Episode 9

The Grand Tour Episode 9

In the ninth episode of Amazon's Original TV Series, The Grand Tour, the boys are stepping through the future by giving the motoring world a glimpse of tomorrow.

First up, James May is test driving the all-new Honda NSX supercar to see just how it lives up as the successor to Japan's legendary sportscar.

Then, with SUVs are becoming the new normal in the automotive landscape, Jeremy Clarkson devises a plan to create his own kind of "sports utility vehicle" using the underpinnings of the Land Rover Discovery as the basis. He once used the MGB's exterior for this experiment but moments later, it broke. Later, he used the old Mercedes SL roadster and christen it as "The Excellent".

After that, with an ongoing energy crisis going on in the world, the boys are trying to find any means to generate as much electricity as they can to solve the problem. Trouble is, they didn't.

And finally, when the world faces an imminent fallout, Richard Hammond creates his own take of a bugged-out car. In his first attempt, he created a VW-based survival vehicle, only to be then blown by Clarkson and May using conventional weaponry. In the second attempt, it got blown away by a tank. And in the third attempt, Hammond created a military vehicle, only to be then destroyed by a battleship's long-range weaponry.

The Grand Tour - Episode 7 & 8 (Namibia Special)

The Grand Tour Namibia Special

Call it a Christmas special you may ask like what Top Gear did in the past but the first-ever two-part special of Amazon's Original Series, The Grand Tour, is more than just a Christmas special. It's about three boys exploring through the Namibian landscape using beach buggies that were based on classic Beetle chassis.

James May's beach buggy bears a close resemblance to the original beach buggy while Jeremy Clarkson's buggy, meanwhile, is powered by a V8 because of his love for power, and Richard Hammond's buggy has a roof and offroad parts on it.

Throughout this epic two-parter, the boys and the buggies are trying to survive the harsh roads and elements in this thousand-mile journey to prove that beach buggies are the best. In the end, turns out that despite everything they gave, they proved themselves wrong, knowing that beach buggies aren't the best.

Still, the first-ever Grand Tour special shows that the boys can still explore through the ends of the earth just like during their Top Gear heydays, no matter how good or bad things are until the conclusion that defines the turning point of history.

The Grand Tour - Episode 6

The Grand Tour Episode 6

Fords are the main topic on the sixth episode of Amazon's original car show, The Grand Tour.

In this episode, following the announcement that Ford will sell the latest Mustang to right hand drive markets, including the United Kingdom, Richard Hammond was excited enough to take the first RHD Mustang on British roads. However, his joyride with the RHD Mustang was interrupted by Jeremy Clarkson and his Ford Focus RS. In here, they've undergone series of arguments until a clear winner was decided, courtesy of The American.

Meanwhile, James May celebrates five decades of Ford's Le Mans win by chronicling the events that led up to this very motorsport milestone from Ford. Then, Kimi Raikkonen was the latest casualty of the Celebrity Braincrash segment and then, some car-related Christmas merchandises are featured.

The Grand Tour - Episode 5

The Grand Tour Episode 5

So, roadsters are now the main topic for the fifth episode of Amazon's original car show, The Grand Tour, and in this episode, the comparison between the Mazda Roadster ND, driven by Hammond, and the Zenos E10, driven by May, had gotten from bad to worse with the late arrival of Jeremy Clarkson in the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider.

On their Moroccan road trip with their open-top roadsters, the argument has gone from bad to worse to better. From their weighing issue gone belly-up to the discovery of a shooting location used in most films and shows where they can let loose with their roadsters without causing much trouble at the set, well almost.

During the episode, Hammond and May are giving a twist on the classic board game Battleship, using nothing but bangers and G-Wizes to be used as vessels and missiles, just like in the Battleship game. Then, Dutch rock band Golden Earring became the latest celebrity casualty to succumb from the Celebrity Braincrash segment, and then a V8 inflator was demonstrated while trying to inflate a sex toy. Yes, you get that idea.

The Grand Tour - Episode 4

The Grand Tour Episode 4

On the fourth episode of Amazon's original car show, The Grand Tour, the boys are solving a major environmental problem involving eco-friendly materials used on cars by driving their Discovery-based cars using the sustainable materials of their choosing. James May's car is made of mud while Richard Hammond's car is like a habitat for wildlife and Jeremy Clarkson's car is made mostly of bones and animal skin, which is rather scary.

On their way to a disclosed location to do some endurance racing against certain opponents in question, the gang are venturing through the woods while pieces of materials are falling apart, well mostly for James. During the trip, his idea of a mud-bodied car didn't work so he tried polluting the nature for some alternatives. He tried bricks but it didn't work so he tried hay instead. As they make it to the race, their sustainable material cars got beaten up by cars with steel bodies real good.

During the episode, Jeremy Clarkson's making the case on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the hardcore version of the Porsche 911, and tries comparing it to the BMW M4 GTS, the hardcore version of the BMW M4. Then, Jimmy Carr is the latest casualty in this episode's Celebrity Braincrash, and the gang found out a clever way how criminals smuggle people using cars.
