Nokia C1-00

Nokia's first dual-sim phone, the C1-00, might seem to have a familiar feature found in most myphone cellphones, but this is Nokia's first of its kind to give cellphone users the free will to use two sims in one phone.

Perfect for those who want to use two sims, even when you're in side on two rival telecommunication companies, Smart and Globe, or even its subsidiaries such as Touch Mobile or Red Mobile. Imagine yourself keeping a secret to someone, the first sim you'll have is for your common pals, and the second one is for your secret buddies. Would that be nice to have this phone carrying two sims for your privacy? This dual-sim phone brings personal privacy to its personal taste.

Aside from its dual-sim functionality, the Nokia C1-00 features some entry-level features such as texting, calling, and normal ringtones. Also, the FM Radio (headset required) makes it a good addition to the C1-00. Good for those who want to listen to their favorite FM stations on the go.

The Nokia C1-00 comes in two exterior colors, red and blue, respectively, and I hope there will be changeable covers for Nokia's first dual-sim phone. But still, I would go for the myphone range because not only has dual-sim features, it has host of colorful features.

Nokia C3

From my point of view, the Nokia C3, one of the Nokia C-Series, is surprisingly the main opponent of some BlackBerry QWERTY-keyboard phones, because this Nokia looks similar to the BlackBerry phones I know.

The Nokia C3 comes in three distinctive colors; in beige, smoke, and magenta, and it has some distinctive features as seen on those QWERTY-keyboard type cellphones, especially the BlackBerry phones with these cool keypads.

First off, the C3 comes with a customizable home screen that allows the user to change backgrounds with their downloaded wallpapers and icons. This home screen allows you to check on FaceBook statues and Twitter tweets and allows you to get connected with your friends and family by selecting the person's picture to talk or text.

For connectivity, the C3 comes with either a 2G or W-Fi connectivity. If Nokia makes a 3G version of the C3, I would gladly go everywhere and surf the net everywhere I go, especially wild parties, appointments, and others. Also, the C3 has Web Search feature, you searched it, you keep it. This feature is just like the Web Search feature from the Sony PSP, but whatever, this is how this thing works.

Since this cellphone has a QWERTY keypad, texting made simple. Imagine myself texting messages with my friends and family with that kind of keyboard designed for easy access and convenience, if you know what I mean.

For photos and video, a 2.0-megapixel camera is added to give users a fun factor to take pictures and videos for their uploading pleasure to the internet. Keep that in mind that the internal memory for this phone is up to 55MB and the optional MicroSD memory card up to 8GB will take you further for more photos, videos, and music. Speaking of music, this phone can match your favorite music based on your feelings. It even has an FM radio to listen your favorite FM stations such as Tambayan 101.9, Home Radio 97.9, Yes FM 101.1, and other FM radio stations I know.

What can I say? This Nokia is the target of BlackBerry phones wearing the QWERTY keypad, because this Nokia looks more like a BlackBerry phone! Weird, but cool to keep it as a collector's item.

X2

Nokia X2

A certain stylish part of the Nokia X-Series, the X2, blends the trend and tech into one fashionable cellphone suited for its budget. Although this is a fair phone for the kids in their fourth to sixth grade and teens in their high school years, the Nokia X2 features a moderate host of features such as FM player, dual stereo speakers, one-touch keys, 5-megapixel camera, and a host of Ovi apps to take part of it.

It seems that this cell-phone wasn't great for the professional techies, but only the rookies and amateurs will be appreciated to the Nokia X2 because of its entry-level size, entry-level features, and a host of optional accessories, including a MicroSD memory car for additional space for your photos, videos, and music.

On my side note, this Nokia is quite OK for me if I want to swap out my old 3230 for that phone because both the 3230 and the X2 have the same features, but different in terms in style, quality, and packaging. If you are a spoiled brat, this cellphone might just change your course because it has a certain sense of style. You'll be glad this is from the stylish Nokia X Series, designed for the generation X.

iPod Nano Mk.VI

The sixth-generation iPod Nano

The iPod Nano of the new decade is now changed and its no longer more similar to the classic iPod. The new sixth-generation iPod Nano is now an iPod Touch with a shape of the iPod Shuffle, as part of the new iPod range, consisting of the 4th-generation iPod Touch (now with the camera), and the new 4th-generation iPod Shuffle which goes retro but with the new voice recognition feature.

What impresses the new iPod Nano is the new touch screen feature. I think this new feature borrowed some aspects of the iPod touch but the size makes it eccentric. What makes it on this size, this iPod Nano is now fully focused on playing music. With the lack of the video camera feature, voice recorder, and video playback, this would be rather disappointing.

This new iPod Nano is not my type, unless if someone had it with their old iPod Shuffle may be ready to get their hands on the new iPod Nano. For this iPod claimed as "the iPod Touch look with the iPod Shuffle size", this would be the cutest of the iPod range. Most tech-savvy girls are welcomed to purchase this cute gadget and put some of their favorite songs and enjoy their music trip.

Can this new iPod Nano be a hit? Let's pray that Power Mac Center, the official Apple retailer in the Philippines, will sell these.

iPod Touch (Fourth-generation)

Apple iPod Touch (4th Generation)

With the introduction of the iPad and the iPhone 4, our favorite fun-loving Apple iPod Touch made its full-model change and this will be called the Apple iPod Touch 4.

Why this iPod Touch reached its fourth-generation model? In this model, the iPod Touch can now do things the same as the iPhone 4, such as the new FaceTime feature. This feature does the same trick as the iPhone, you can do a little talk with your pals face to face thanks to the new camera feature, for the first time attached on this model. This app makes video calling at its finest. Also new to the iPod Touch 4 is the new retina display, which brings the most clearest view to this wonderful handheld gadget. From webpages, games, apps, and more, this display will shock you with excitement.

If you want to capture videos in High-Definition, there's an app for that. The new iPod Touch 4 now comes with the HD video camera, which allows you to snap photos and HD video that you can wow them when you send them by Facebook, YouTube, and others. This iPod is way better than my old iPod Touch.

My comment:
This iPod Touch is even better than my old iPod Touch because it now has video call, HD camera, retina display, and more that meets the gadget junkie's eye. With the SRP of $299 - $399 (about 25,000 to 40,000 Pesos), most Apple fans will start saving up some moolah before buying this! I hope this new iPod Touch will be on sale soon at the Power Mac Center, the Philippines' number one Apple retailer.

iPad

The newest addition to the Apple family (the geniuses behind the Mac, iPod, and iPhone) has arrived to bounce against Amazon's Kindle and of course, there will be a certain love-hate scenarios for computer egoists from across the globe. Meet the iPad, Apple's first of its kind.

At first, the iPad looks more like an enlarged iPod Touch, meaning why would they copy something they already had. Of course, we do not blame its superiority, but Apple made a good job creating a hand-held computer built for the next-generation nerds and the nerds-at-heart. If we can say that, the iPad can do everything for the sake of our love for computers, there are a few key points regarding Apple's first of its kind:

- Safari web browser

- Mail app for e-mail purposes

- LED-backlit IPS display gives photo viewing to a completely new level

- 9.7-inch screen allows movie geeks to watch downloaded movies via iTunes like no other. It is also perfect for watching full-screen YouTube videos.

- Same features of the iPod touch; such as listening to music, purchase apps, and the use of iTunes.

... and so much more to mention this wondrous handheld computer. From its introduction, the Wi-Fi connectivity is a standard feature for the iPad. A 3G option may come in later.

My Words on the iPad:
It is not going to be easy obtaining the iPad, because of the pricing of just $499 (or supposedly 23,000 Pesos when it hits our stores), but despite the pricing, the iPad is one of the finest creations by Apple, and it will crush the competition led by the Kindle from Amazon. This gadget not only enlightens the geeks, but also for real men. Try it.

Nokia 1280

Not necessarily a good Nokia to try for a seasoned techie, but for the budget-conscious, this Nokia phone can be a a good entry-level phone for those who want something simple, and economical in terms of pricing.

The Nokia 1280 looks more of an outdated 3310 but it has an FM radio feature on it. All you have to do is to plug in your cellphone's headset and you're ready to listen to your favorite FM stations such as Yes FM, Tambayan 101.9, Home Radio 97.9, Monster Radio RX93.1, 99.5RT, and other FM radio stations that I know.

The 1280's design can be somewhat plain, thinking that this is some kind of a cellphone built from China with odd design and less features, but on the exterior note, the dust-proof keypad and the scratch-resistant cover lets brings durability on the next level, so you can use it anytime, anywhere. Once more, you can change the phone's exterior with a wide array of cellphone covers for added style.

I guess this is perfect only for those who have a decent budget to buy a phone, but for me, I think this is not the phone I really want. Leave to the first timers.

Nintendo DSi

In 2004, Nintendo created the DS, the hand held video game system that gives gamers use the new stylus function and the microphone, then in 2006, a nimbler version of the Nintendo DS also known as the DS Lite provides the same quality as the original DS but with the cheaper price, and now, in 2009, Nintendo created their first handheld video game system with the camera to send it between friends. This was known as the DSi.

The Nintendo DSi provides the same DS quality, like for instance, playing your favorite DS games, and the new features in store for this newest hand held gaming console. Notice the SD Card slot in the side, this is where you can show pictures and play music to this new kind of DS. On the upside, there is a camera function here, meaning you can take pictures of your friends or when you're on the go looking for adventure and best of all, you can draw your pictures you've taken for more fun factor to show it to your friends. You can also store it to your Nintendo Wii's Photo Channel and enjoy your precious moments stored on the small screen. Also, the audio player only plays AAC format songs, meaning you have to find a way to do so with your mp3 files. On the downside, the GBA slot has been removed, meaning you can't play your favortie Game Boy Advance games or using the guitar like accessory to the Guitar Hero On Tour game.

Having the same DS quality with the quality of an MMS phone, the DSi is a new way to impress others more than gaming. It's more on taking pics and listen to your favorite music on the go.
