Things we learned from the Bang Dream! 5th Live

Bang Dream! 5th Live
The Bang Dream! 5th Live concert, held at the Makuhari Messe from the 12th to the 13th of May, 2018, is where everything's about to change in front of a massive audience, especially fans of Bushiroad's Bang Dream franchise because after they got swooned by Poppin' Party on the first day and Roselia on the second day, there has been a slew of big news happening in the world of the Bang Dream franchise so in case you missed it, here's what in store for them.

First and foremost, they've given us a teaser for a male band group calling themselves Argonavis with Shuta Morishima, Seiji Maeda, and Daisuke Hyuga taking charge to it. This new all-male band from the world of Bang Dream! will have their first live in July and that's pretty much all the info heard round the world so stay tuned for more.

In addition, the Bang Dream! anime series will return for Seasons 2 and 3 this next year. One by January 2019 and the latter by October 2019. The new seasons will be taken care by Sanzigen, replacing ISSEN and Xebec as the studio in charge of it. In addition to the new seasons, there's a new Girls Band Party PICO anime skits airing on July 5 during the course of the Bang Dream! TV variety show. Think of it like Puchimas or Cinderella Girls Gekijo but the skits will star the bands from the Bang Dream! Girls Band Party app game from Poppin' Party, Roselia, Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, and Hello Happy World! Of course, we already know that the Pastel*Palettes are getting a spinoff anime soon so there's more to expect for Bang Dreamers worldwide.

Lastly, and the most important one, is who will be taking over the role of Roselia bassist Lisa Imai in the franchise. Late last year, Yurika Endo announced that she will be retiring from being a seiyuu after her final live show later in the summer due to health concerns, shocking fans on who will take her place on the Lisa Imai role and at the end of the second day of the Bang Dream 5th Live concert, they're happy to announced that the role of Lisa Imai will be handed over to (drumroll please, Ako)...Yuki Nakashima, also known as Yuuki Otokura from THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS. Yuki Nakashima will begin voicing the character soon so stay tuned. This situation is vaguely similar to what happened in THE IDOLM@STER franchise when the role of Yukiho Hagiwara, originally voiced by Yukari Ochiai until she left the franchise for security reasons, was handed over to Azumi Asakura.

Handover aside, much to the disgrace to Pokemon fans too many, Roselia will be having their fan meeting at the Culttz Kawasaki on Monday, the 17th of September, 2018, so if you're one of the yobs who like messing up field trips to the rocking sounds of Roselia, here's your chance to be part of it.

Anyway, that's pretty much about everything as announced at the recently concluded Bang Dream! 5th Live concert so which one are you excited about the most?

Anfang

Pokemon lovers, look away now because the Roselia featured now is from Bang Dream and perhaps no wonder the Roselia of Bang Dream provoked many Pokemon purists like you and me and caused some to dump Pokemon over Bang Dream when it comes to Roselia. While the Roselia of Bang Dream provoked Pokemon purists more than the sound of the Hellcat engine revving behind their ears while cruising at tunnels, perhaps no wonder there are plenty of people became fans of Roselia and the members such as Yukina Minato (CV: Aina Aiba), Ako Udagawa (CV: Megu Sakuragawa), Sayo Hikawa (CV: Haruka Kudo), Rinko Shirokane (CV:Satomi Akesaka), and Lisa Imai (CV: Yurika Endo).

Anfang

In preparation for Roselia's appearance at this month's Bang Dream! 5th Live concert and the imminent retirement of Yurika Endo, who plays Lisa, the first album of Roselia has arrived. Called Anfang, this album features the best of rocking Roselia tunes to listen from their first one titled BLACK SHOUT to their recent hit titled Opera of the Wasteland, including brand new songs like Neo-Aspect. Those who picked up the one with Blu-Ray disc on it, this BD comes with the best live performances as seen on Roselia's 1st Live "Rosenlied" and their 2nd Live "Zeit".

Anfang is the must-have album for those who are fans of Roselia as long as this Roselia playlist doesn't irritate nearby Pokemon fans like a Hellcat doing donuts and then ask you to leave.

How to dress as Poppin' Party members

The Bang Dream! franchise is coined by Bushiroad as the next-generation girls band project when the experiment began in 2015 with Poppin Party as the first of their new kind. After two years of experimenting Poppin' Party with numerous hit songs, they've been blessed with a 2017 anime series for 13 episodes and when the anime series ended, Bushiroad wanted to expand the Bang Dream! franchise with the Girls Band Party app game featuring new bands such as Roselia, Afterglow, Pastel*Palettes, and Hello! Happy World!

Think of Bang Dream! as a mix of Love Live! and K-On! in a nutshell because they really are like the mixture of two music anime shows we all love and due to this sudden spike in popularity, it managed to trump both in a long shot and whether you love it or hate it, the Bang Dream! mania roars like the sound of the Hellcat engine revving behind your ears.

Anyway, since we got the whole Bang Dream! into our cognitive systems, most of you are willing to cosplay as your favorite Bang Dream characters but since Poppin Party were the founding band of the franchise, focus will shift on how to dress as Poppin' Party members.

Poppin Party

As Kasumi Toyama - Kasumi is the guitarist and vocalist of Poppin' Party. A high school first year at the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy. She wanted to have her own band ever since she first encountered a star-shaped guitar when she was little and as the front gal of Poppin' Party, she'll going to give it her all. Starting with her hair, it's simply brown and short but take note on the top of her hair that resembles like cat ears as well as some star accessories on her front right side. With that settle, pick whatever outfit you like, whether the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy uniform, her sky-blue, one-piece, short-sleeved casuals, or her onstage outfit. Since her image color is red, her onstage outfit should match her color. Takes some sleeveless polo shirt, suspenders, a red necktie, black shorts, black stockings, red shoes, and some detailing to match her onstage look. You get the point and for an optional feature, her signature red star-shaped guitar. ESP will sell you a replica of Kasumi's signature guitar if you can afford one.

As Tae Hanazono - Tae is the guitarist of Poppin' Party and a high school first year at the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy. She loves music and works part-time at the live house where she bought her blue guitar in the first place. That blue guitar is optional for you if you're itching a Tae Hanazono cosplay, especially if you managed to maintain that long black hair of yours and donning whatever her outfits you want, especially her onstage outfit with some blue detailing on it, matching her image color. Same outfit picks as Kasumi from above but detailing needs to be blue.

As Saya Yamabuki - Saya is the drummer of Poppin' Party and a high school first year at the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy. Saya met Kasumi at their school entrance ceremony and the two have eaten lunch together every day since. She gets her hands full with the family business, the Yamabuki Bakery. She was once a member of a certain band since middle school until now... Her hair is long, slightly brown, and ponytailed, and her onstage outfit consists of a sleeveless polo shirt, suspenders, black shorts, black stockings, yellow shoes, and some detailing all colored yellow, which is Saya's image color. Since it's too big to bring drums with you, bring drumsticks instead.

As Rimi Ushigome - Rimi is the bassist of Poppin' Party and a high school first year at the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy. Rimi tries not to be so shy, but hasn't had much luck so far. She loves the chocolate cornets the Yamabuki Bakery makes. Her pink bass guitar was a hand-me-down from her older sister. It's optional if you can afford it but anyway, while you are trying your best to make yourself as cute as Rimi, make sure your black hair needs to be as short as Rimi's and if you're gunning for her onstage costume, be it a short-sleeved polo shirt, black suspenders, pink ribbons, a pink skirt, black stockings, pink shoes, and some detailing on your costume. Be it pink.

As Arisa Ichigaya - Arisa is the pianist of Poppin' Party and a high school first year at the Hanasakigawa Girls Academy. Her grandparents run a pawn shop and she's very much an indoor girl who likes taking car of her bonai trees and looking at stuff online. A well-rounded tsundere, she often causes trouble with Kasumi quite a bit. Anyway, being Arisa takes a long beige-colored hair that needs to be twin-tailed. With your twin-tailed hair matches Arisa's, go for whatever outfits you want and if you're itching for her onstage costume, be ready with your short-sleeved polo shirt, black suspenders, purple ribbons, a pink skirt, black stockings, purple shoes, and some detailing on your costume. Purple please. Oh, and is it possible to bring a keyboard with you? If you can, you can but if its too much, don't.

...and there you have it. Dress as your favorite Poppin' Party members so you can tell the world just how rocking your Poppin' Party cosplay is, either by yourself or with a group. In case your nearby anime convention has some battle of the bands on it, it's your chance to show everyone what Poppin' Party is made for!
