The Super Sentai Series, which has enjoyed a remarkable five-decade run on television, is coming to a complete end with the conclusion of its final installment, No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger, today. It's truly sad to see one of the giants of the tokusatsu genre fade away. As the world prepares for the end of the Super Sentai Series, here's a TL:DR summary of its history.

First debuted in 1975, the Super Sentai Series is TOEI's tokusatsu franchise featuring a vibrant team of heroes who unite to save the world from the forces of evil. From its initial installment, Himitsu Sentai Goranger, to its most recent entry, No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger, the series has introduced a remarkable total of 300 "henshin" heroes, setting a new record in Japan.
