HOLD IT! Before my quick review, ensure you have already watched the episode. Then, come back here when you have.
It was the day before May 24, 2025. The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) are living their so-called "normal" lives with their daughter named Poppy. As The Doctor goes to work, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) pops up, telling them that everything's not what it seems. Sadly, The Doctor and Belinda denied Ruby's warning.
As The Doctor goes to work in the so-called "Unified National Insurance Team" and Belinda is visited by her mother and grandmother to check on Poppy, The Rani (Archie Panjabi) returns to her lair with her predecessor (Anita Dobson) and Conrad Clark (Jonah Hauer-King) doing their work as they prepare their ultimate weapon.
As Ruby Sunday and Shirley Bingham were talking about how to stage a revolt against Conrad Clark, The Doctor received a mysterious message interrupting Conrad's broadcast, warning of an imminent cataclysm. Unaware of them, The Rani summoned her minions to bring The Doctor and Belinda to her lair.
With the countdown to May 24 drawing near, The Doctor and Belinda come face to face with The Rani, a chance for The Rani to show her true colors to The Doctor.
The God of Wishes known as Desidirium, the Vindicator, and the endless doubts. It's The Rani's ultimate recipe for armageddon, and with that, The Rani's trump card awakens; the resurrection of The First Time Lord named Omega.
The Rani's comeback became a lifelong speculation ever since Mrs. Flood's first appearance on The Church on Ruby Road. Because of Mrs. Flood's shocking knowledge of The Doctor, Ruby Sunday, Belinda Chandra, and everything around the Whoniverse, many believed that she could be The Rani until the end of last week's episode, The Interstellar Song Contest, finally revealed her true identity; this time, she was bi-generated. "Let Battle Begin." That's what The Rani said before bi-generation.
The first part truly serves as a countdown to disaster. It's compelling to watch The Doctor and Belinda ensnared in a web of lies while Ruby Sunday battles for the truth against the Unholy Trinity, which has brought the world to the brink of Armageddon. It delivers ultimate suspense from start to finish, culminating in a shocking cliffhanger.
With the Unholy Trinity unleashed armageddon by reviving Omega, the First Time Lord, will The Doctor save the universe and defeat The Unholy Trinity as well as Omega?
