NTT IndyCar Series 2022 - Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey

This is where it all ends for the 2022 NTT IndyCar Series as the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey is the race that will decide who will be crowned the champion. The three-way title dogfight between Will Power, Josef Newgarden, and Scott Dixon ends here.

As the green flag waved, the season finale is on and all eyes are on the three title contenders. As Will Power's dominating the early laps of the race, he went to the pits for new tires and fuel. With 25 laps down, the race is far from over as Alex Palou and Will Power are clashing for the lead. As the race intensifies, newcomer Callum Ilott suddenly stopped on track, triggering the first yellow flag of the race.

Halfway through the race, Josef Newgarden is on the top of the game and he can really smell another title while Will Power is on the hunt on Newgarden as expected. As Newgarden pits on Lap 61, Power takes charge while going behind race leader Alex Palou. As Power pits Lap 68, Newgarden's jumped to 2nd place while Power returns to the race in 4th place. A lap later, Newgarden leads the race following Alex Palou's pit stop. The race has 27 laps left.

Come Lap 73, Newgarden heads to the pits, while Alex Palou regains his lead. The clash between Newgarden and Power intensifies further as the climax draws near. Meanwhile, behind them, Marcus Ericsson and Scott McLaughlin are clashing with each other.

With 12 laps left, there's a three-way corkscrew drama between Ericsson, McLaughlin, and Colton Herta while the endgame title fight between Newgarden and Power draws near its end and Palou remains in the lead. Three laps to go, Ericsson gets messy while clashing with Alexander Rossi.
