Doctor Who S13E02

Whatever happened in the pilot is a sign of things to come in the Flux arc of BBC's Doctor Who and the second chapter of the six-episode season introduces viewers to the Sontarans like they've never seen before.

Doctor Who S13E02

HOLD IT! The below text is hidden for spoiler reasons. Be sure to watch the entire episode first before coming back here to read it!

Following "The Halloween Apocalypse", The Doctor and friends ended up in the middle of the Crimean War of 1855 where the British Army are battling against the Sontarans.  As the gang escorted to a safe spot, trouble's brewing as Dan and Yaz suddenly disappeared, and with the TARDIS doors unknowlingly disappeared, The Doctor's in trouble. Dan ended up back on Earth that was ruled by Sontarans while Yaz is at a mysterious area where she helps Vinder while dealing with powerful enemies named Swarm and Azure.

The trio are in desperate situations while separated with The Doctor got entangled in the war, Dan's espionage over a Sontaran plot got himself caught, and Yaz and Vinder got caught in a standoff against Swarm and Azure.

However, all hope is not lost as The Doctor devises the plan to drop the Sontarans through their knees while Dan got reunited with an old friend, the Lupari Karvanista, and delivered a coup de grace; crashing the ship into the Sontaran ships. Back in the Crimean War, meanwhile, The Doctor's tactics prompted the Sontarans to leave but because of the soldier's actions, the Sontaran ships got exploded.

With the Sontarans out of the picture, The Doctor's TARDIS is back to normal and reunited with Dan. However, something's wrong with the TARDIS. They ended up at the hands of Swarm. With Yaz and Vinder fell under control, how will she deal against a powerful form of evil?

Those "potato head things" we saw in the recent episode aren't like the "potato head things" we are familiar with from The Doctor's past journeys but this episode shows the challenging side of The Doctor when her friends got separated by a mysterious force and the TARDIS got haywire. No matter how dire and perilous the latest episode is, it seems that The Doctor always has a plan to outwit the Sontarans while stuck in the Crimean War with no one fighting alongside her but an eccentric war nurse.

As the saying goes, "end of one nightmare, prelude to another". With The Doctor and Dan reunited while Yaz fell under the hands of a powerful villain, expect perilous situations ahead in the Flux arc.
