- Philippines band entry of travelers from the United States

- The AFP welcomed the dismissal of nine of 12 of the cops involved in the Jolo shooting but wants criminal charges against them.

- According to the DOST, Sinopharm wanted Philippines to fund trials of its COVID-19 vaccine.

- India begins rehearsal for the vaccine rollout following the approval of AstraZeneca's potential COVID-19 vaccine.

- The South Korean government extended social distancing measures nationwide. This includes ban of gatherings of five or more people and restaurants to close at 9PM.

- China dismissed offer for Taiwan talks, calling it a "cheap trick".

- Norweigian rescue coordinators are still working on the basis that there could be survivors in the landslide that hit the village.

- The US Congress hits President Donald Trump with the strongest rebuke as the Senate voted in favor of veto override.

- Kia Motors to unveil new logo on the 6th of January.
