ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge FINAL

Started at the end of April, the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge was made to replace the ongoing Formula E season that was been on indefinite halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. Formula E drivers staying-at-home got their racing sims courtesy of Playseat and then took part at this very special series where all proceeds go to UNICEF, helping children worldwide affected by the pandemic.

As the Race at Home Challenge reached its climax, Pascal Wehrlein of Mahindra and Mercedes EQ's Stoffel Vandoorne's locked in a title fight with 14 points between them, 130 vs. 116, and because the final round is a double-point battle, it's an all-or-nothing battle for those who are fighting for the title.

In the final race of the Race at Home Challenge, set at the virtual Berlin EPrix, Wehrlein got caught in a first corner mess and struggles to fend off the competition while Vandoorne's keeping it cool while trying to fend off the polesitter Oliver Rowland of Nissan.

By finishing second ahead of Maximilian Guenther and behind Oliver Rowland, Stoffel Vandoorne is named the ABB FIA Formula E Race at Home Challenge Champion. Not only that, he set the fastest lap time in 1:09.064.

Congratulations, Stoffel Vandoorne, for winning the Race at Home Challenge!

And that's it for the ABB FIA Formula E Race at Home Challenge! Let's hope our favorite Formula E drivers return to the track very soon when it's safe. Until then, stay home, stay safe!
