DTM 2019 - Lausitzring

Summer's almost over in Europe and the DTM 2019 continues to heat things up at Lausitzring where this two-race event made history because while the first race is their 499th, the latter race at Lausitzring will mark the 500th race in DTM history. Such a milestone Europe's best motorsport series have gotten so far.

In what was known to be the 499th race in DTM history, with Rene Rast losing his lead in the leaderboards due to mechanical failures that pushed him out of the race, Nico Mueller managed to charge his way towards victory lane, edging out against the likes of Robin Frijns and Mike Rockenfeller. Now, in what was known to be the 500th race in DTM history, it's a comeback for Rene Rast as he turned his previous race misfortune into his reversal as he edged out his title rival Mueller for the win. Thrilling things did happen in the 500th race in DTM history, of course.

That really is the 500th race to remember for the DTM fans and here's to 500 more of these as this series keeps going on for more. Anyway, with Audi sealed its manufacturer win this season, the gap between Rast and Mueller have narrowed to just 20 points, 234 vs. 214.

Will Rene Rast keep on fighting to win the title or will Nico Mueller snag his hopes away? The next event will be at the Nurburgring on the 13th to the 15th of September, 2019.
