NTT IndyCar Series 2019 - Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach

The NTT IndyCar Series continues on the streets of Long Beach, California, for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach race and there has been a lot of drama unfold before, during, and after the race because of a certain, inevitable outcome that could change the tide of the IndyCar battle in one fell swoop.

The drama at Long Beach unfolds as Alexander Rossi leads the field of 23 and as things get rough, caution has thrown as Jack Harvey, Marcus Eriksen, and Spencer Pickett got involved in some opening lap damage. On the restart, Alexander Rossi manages to defend his lead from Scott Dixon and with the Team Penske drivers, Will Power and Josef Newgarden, done their pits, Newgarden hounded down Dixon for second.

Rookie driver Colton Herta was forced to surrender when his car hit the turn 9 wall while running in 12th position.

The real drama at Long Beach comes in the climax as Graham Rahal, currently in third, aggressively blocked Dixon at turn nine, triggering a penalty and surrendering his podium finish to Dixon.

This dramatic Long Beach thriller is a smooth sailing for Alexander Rossi as he managed to lead the most laps in the race and fended off Josef Newgarden to win the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Next race is at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the INDYCAR Grand Prix on the 11th of May.
