Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire

Last year's Zero the Enforcer film has been consigned as one of the best Detective Conan films in ages probably because of a certain character that caught a massive attention to the audiences, especially female fans alike. Question is does the success fans found in last year's film could be applied to the latest Detective Conan film, titled Fist of Blue Sapphire?

Detective Conan: Fist of Blue Sapphire

This year's movie offering from one of Japan's longest-running TV series in history, Detective Conan, is the first to have a setting outside Japan because in this film, Shinichi Kudo (a.k.a. Conan Edogawa) takes on Singapore as a murder case and a mysterious gem known as the Blue Sapphire becomes the turning point of the film. The case wasn't easy though because he, Kid the Phantom Thief, and new character Makoto Kyogoku, are on the bottom on this new mystery and how the case unfolds will be a big one for the viewers.

The return of Kid the Phantom Thief in the Detective Conan films and Makoto's first appearance in this film really adds some excitement to the 2019 Detective Conan film and the Singapore setting really shows that Detective Conan is a worldwide phenomenon by a long mark. Although it's nothing compared to last year's film, Fist of Blue Sapphire shows that putting the story of Detective Conan in a foreign setting means that our favorite detective's ready to take on the world's grueling cases in the blink of an eye and that's just the cherry of the cake we can expect more after the film. There are no other words to describe the latest offering but fans truly had a blast upon seeing this new Detective Conan movie unless our favorite Phantom Thief makes a scene out of nowhere and left a calling card telling that our time is up.

My rating: 3.7 out of 5.
