Guinness Six Nations 2023 ROUND 1

This is the first time the Six Nations championship kicked off following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II last year. The 2023 season is off with a flying start with matches such as Wales v Ireland, England v Scotland, and Italy v France.

Focusing on the match between the WRU and the IRFU, Ireland's off to a flying start as Josh van der Flier's try delivered a huge upset against Wales at the score of 34-10. Despite the return of Warren Gatland as the WRU's head coach, it seems that Ireland's too strong for Wales.

Following the WRU v IRFU match, the England Rugby team was defeated by Scotland at the score of 29-23 while the France Rugby team beats the F.I.R. at a close-call score of 29-24.

The next match kicks off on the 11th of February with the IRFU v France Rugby, Scotland v WRU, and on the next day, England Rugby v F.I.R. Italia.

Ginebra wins PBA 47th Season Commissioner's Cup Finals

There was never in the history of the PBA that they were up against a powerful team from overseas. The Hong Kong-based basketball team competing for the East Asia Super League, the Bay Area Dragons, became the ultimate challenge for the homegrown PBA teams. The Dragons slayed every PBA team until they met their match; the Barangay Ginebra team.

In the PBA's 47th season Commissioner's Cup Finals, both the Bay Area Dragons and the Barangay Ginebra team fought relentlessly for six games until the decisive Game 7 held at the Philippine Arena. A record-breaking audience count of 54,589 has been gathered to witness the ultimate showdown between a legendary PBA team and a foreign basketball team.

The first half saw the Ginebra team pull a massive lead against the Bay Area Dragons at the score of 61-39, meaning they had the upper hand until when the second half kicked in, the Dragons are getting aggressive to catch them up. Still, the Ginebra team pulled both their offense and defense rather well until the very end of this decisive battle.

In the end, the honor of the PBA has been defended, thanks to Barangay Ginebra. They clinched their 15th Commissioner's Cup title after defeating the Bay Area Dragons at the score of 114-99. Christian Standhardinger was named MVP with 12 points, 6/11 FGs, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Congratulations to the Barangay Ginebra team for defending the honor of the Philippine Basketball Association!

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 FINAL

 

All roads lead to this epic finale of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022; the showdown between the team of Lionel Messi versus the team of Kylian Mbappe. It's Argentina v France, the epic showdown that will decide which team will be crowned the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Champions.

Long before the epic finale that rocked Lusail Stadium, a closing ceremony kicked in, featuring various top-notch performers with Qatari singer Dana served as the finale's opener, followed by Tamim Al Barghouti's poem recital, and a mashup of songs from the World Cup Official Soundtrack, an ode to the World Cup's greatest hits. After a spectacular closing ceremony, the final battle has begun.

The first half of the finale saw Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria delivered an early lead for Team Argentina until the second half saw Kylian Mbappe lead the team to overtake Argentina with one goal shot and two penalty shots. 

With Messi's penalty shot equalizing the match with each team scoring three points, the match went into a climactic penalty. Argentina scored four penalty shots while France scored two.

With that, Argentina, with Lionel Messi at their helm, was crowned FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 champions.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Play-off for third place

 

Before Argentina and France face each other in the finale of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the two teams that lost in the semi-finals, Croatia and Morocco, are clashing with each other to determine which team will finish in third place.

Thanks to the first-half performances by Josko Gvardiol and Mislav Orsic, Croatia defeated Morocco at the score of 2-1, therefore Croatia secured the third place spot at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Quarter-Finals II

 

Morocco v Portugal and England v France are the last two matches of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 quarterfinals, matches will decide who will make it to the semi-finals.

Because of Youssef En Nesyri, Morocco made headlines by becoming the first African nation to advance to the semifinals after leaving Portugal scoreless with a victory point. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud's performance made France advanced to the semis after defeating England at the score of 2-1.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Quarter-Finals I

 

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 quarterfinals kicked off with Croatia v Brazil, followed by The Netherlands and Argentina.

Both matches ended up in a tie and both matches had their winners decided by penalty so here's a quick breakdown; the match between Croatia and Brazil ended in a one-point tie that forced them on a penalty tie-breaker, Croatia scored 4 while Brazil scored 2, meaning Croatia has advanced to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, following a two-point tie between The Netherlands and Argentina that forced them on penalty, The Netherlands scored 3 while Argentina scored 4. The winner goes to Argentina.

FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Day 17

 

The final two spots for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 quarterfinals have been decided by two matches; Morocco v Spain and Portugal v Switzerland.

Following a scoreless match that forced them into a penalty tie-breaker, Morocco scored three penalty kicks to eliminate Spain from the World Cup, while Portugal massively defeated Switzerland at the score of 6-1 with Rafael Leao making great strides.

The Round of 16 eliminations of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 concludes with Japan v Croatia and Brazil v South Korea.
