- A 63-year-old man known as the "Oslo patient," hailing from Norway, has reportedly been completely cured of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This remarkable outcome followed a stem cell transplant from his brother, who possesses a rare genetic mutation that blocks the virus. The Oslo patient was diagnosed with HIV in 2006 and is one of only ten individuals globally to achieve "long-term remission" from the virus. In 2017, he was diagnosed with a life-threatening blood cancer called myelodysplastic syndrome.
- Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed Executive Order No. 113 for a new list of businesses where foreign investment is prohibited or limited. In this list, there are sectors that are completely off limits to foreign investors, such as mass media, small-scale mining, and private security agencies. There are also businesses that foreigners can enter, but with limitations.
