- Several civil society group leaders have approached the Supreme Court to question some provisions of the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) 86 and 88. The leaders are questioning the legality of BAA 86 and some provisions of BAA 88. According to petitioners Sultan Alim Saad Amate and Maulana Mamutuk, BAA 86 did not comply with the Supreme Court's guidelines on the division of parliamentary districts in accordance with the Bangsamoro Organic Law.
- The ad interim appointment of Philippine Ambassador to the Holy See (Vatican) Raphael Lotilla has been approved by the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Commission on Appointments. Lotilla previously served as secretary of the DENR and DOE and has been in government service for 20 years. Lotilla's position as representative to the Vatican is an important diplomatic position.
