- Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson believes that it would be better to have a short-term reenacted 2025 budget than to rush the approval of the 2026 national budget. This was Lacson's reaction after Executive Secretary Ralph Recto said that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will sign the 2026 national budget in the first week of January next year.
