- Senator Alan Peter Cayetano clarified that the proposed house arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte will not mean his deportation. Cayetano explained that the proposed house arrest of FPRRD is equivalent to strict detention outside the International Criminal Court (ICC), but it is still in The Hague, The Netherlands.
- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (NDRRMOC) has been placed on red alert status due to the threat of Typhoon Crising. The alert was raised effective at 12 noon, July 17.
