- Typhoon Jenny maintained strength as it moved northwesterly in the Philippine Sea. According to PAGASA, the typhoon was last spotted 600km east of Calayan, Cagayan.

- A bomb threat was reported at San Francisco National High School in Quezon City, according to the QCPD.

- Thousands of members of the Socorro Bayanihan Services, an alleged cult that sexually assaulted thousands of minors, will lose their homes in case the group is removed from Sitio Kapihan, according to the Socorro Task Force Kapihan.

- Former Red Sox knucklebacker Tim Wakefield passed away at the age of 57.

- California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a bill that would give unemployment checks to striking workers. The bill was backed by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA, two unions involved in a historic strike that paralyzed Hollywood.
