- PH President Bongbong Marcos says the government will not cooperate with the International Criminal Court on its probe of the killings during the Duterte administration's drug war.

- Drag artist Pura Luka Vega, known for its controversial Ama Namin satire, was declared "persona non grata" by the General Santos City Council.

- US President Joe Biden nominates Lisa Franchetti to run the US Navy. If confirmed, she would become the first woman to hold the job.

- Over 1,000 Israeli air force reservists say they'll stop reporting for duty if the government goes ahead with its controversial judicial reforms.

- UK PM Rishi Sunak has suffered two defeats as British voters reject the ailing Conservative government. The Conservatives lost to the resurgent Labour Party in Selby and Ainsty, a region in the north of England where the Sunak’s party had enjoyed a commanding majority. A second seat, Somerton and Frome, was won by the Liberal Democrats, a centrist party.

- A fire broke out at the service area of the Special One Racing Team at Lydden Hill moments ahead of the World RX of UK event. The cause of the fire is under investigation and as a result, Saturday races will not take place.

- TOEI teases Kamen Rider Gotchard, the fifth Reiwa Kamen Rider TV series, coming to TV Asahi this September 3rd.
