- Nobel Laureate Maria Ressa and Rappler were acquitted by the First Division of the Philippine Court of Tax Appeals of the tax evasion charges filed by the Duterte government.

- Reports understand the Church of England will not propose marriage equality for same-sex couples in its National Assembly next month. Same-sex marriage is legal in the UK since 2014 but the Church didn't change its stance.

- Reports revealed that political parties in Nigeria are secretly paying social media influencers to spread fake news about their opponents ahead of next month's general elections.

- US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says his country and the UK are in lockstep over their commitment to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian troops.

- Pacific Island nations are calling for Japan to delay releasing millions of tons of wastewater from the ruined Fukushima Daiichi power plant into the ocean.

- Chevrolet unveiled the first-ever Corvette E-Ray where the 6.2L V8 engine is bolted to a 160hp electric motor powering the front wheels, making it an all-wheel-drive hybrid supercar capable of 655hp of total power output and a 0-60mph time of 2.5 seconds.

- Formula 1 announced that the canceled Chinese Grand Prix will not be replaced in the 2023 season, leaving a four-week gap between the Australian Grand Prix and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

- The Aggretsuko anime series' final season will stream on Netflix this February 16.

- A group of artists is suing Stability AI, Midjourney, and DeviantArt for using their work to train AI tools. Getty and a trio of artists sued AI art generators in separate suits accusing the companies of copyright infringement for pilfering their works.

- Nickelodeon has voluntarily recognized the production workers union. In an initial announcement, staffers went public with complaints of inadequate pay. The Animation Guild has succeeded in procuring voluntary recognition from a group of unionizing production workers at Nickelodeon Animation Studios.

- Netflix's original K-Drama The Glory will return for its second cour this March 10th.

- Actor Brian Cox came in defense of J.K. Rowling's controversial transgender comment, calling her critics "high and mighty". Cox discussed Scotland's recent legislation to make gender changes easier for transgenders, although the British government would block the new law.
