- Large number of Lebanese people are taking to the streets of Beirut to commemorate those who have killed in the explosions earlier this week. 

- Negotiations for the new COVID relief package have failed as both Republicans and Democrats remain in deadlock, according to reports. In response, US President Donald Trump prepares an executive order, that will renew weekly payments, cut payroll taxes, eviction protection, and others this week.

- US officials warned that Russia, China, and Iran are going to interfere the November presidential elections.

- Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam faces US sanctions as well as other Chinese and HK officials, according to the US Treasury Department. The move comes after the Trump administration announced that US firms must stop doing businesses with the Chinese owners of WeChat and TikTok.

- Pope Francis appointed six women to the Vatican's Council for the Economy, according to reports.

- TV personality Oprah Winfrey purchased numerous billboards in Louisville, Kentucky, demanding justice for Breonna Taylor, a black woman who got killed by police, according to reports.
