- A high-ranking leader of the central committee of the CPP-NPA has been arrested in Quezon City. Philippine National Police chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde, identified the suspect as Esterlita Suaybaguio, secretary of the Metro Manila Regional Party Committee of the CPP-NPA.

- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is set to meet three Chinese leaders on his fifth China visit this week.

- The Commission on Elections plans to start the registration of overseas voters this December for the May 2022 polls.

- Every part of Barbados is shut down as Tropical Storm Dorian approached the region and gathered strength, threatening to turn into a small hurricane that forecasters said could affect the northern Windward Islands and Puerto Rico in upcoming days.
