- The Department of Justice summoned Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo and her co-corespondents on August 9 to face the criminal complaint against them concerning their alleged involvement in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” viral videos.

- Senators lament Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's veto of the proposed Security of Tenure bill and vow to refile such measure.

- The new 20-peso coins, due to be released next year, will still feature President Manuel Quezon.

- Beginning next year, the Metro Manila Film Festival will be held twice a year.

- Tsuburaya Productions announced at the Ultraman Festival 2019 event the franchise's first series to be streamed exclusively on the official Ultraman YouTube channel. It's titled Ultra Galaxy Fight New Generation Heroes and will be streamed this September 29. This 13-episode series bridges the gap between the end of the 2019 Ultraman R/B film and the beginning of the recent Ultraman TV series, Ultraman Taiga. The series introduces two new enemies such as X Darkness and Geed Darkness, in addition to familiar foes the New Generation Heroes will battle head-on.
